As Cal and Reth focus on one of the secret doors, the other opens, and unnoticed by you, two small figures dart out, wielding crossbows, they fire at Reth(hit AC 25 for 5 points of damage and cause a DC12 Fort save) and Ward (hit AC 15 for 3 points of damage and cause a DC12 Fort save).

You are flatfooted in the surprise round...Their movement was prior to the surprise round, and went unnoticed be everyone it seems.....

Malik steps forward as he pulls his crossbow, moving a little closer (now withing 30ft) to the vermin derro and cracks off a bolt from his crossbow (sniper fashion...)

Atk:1d20+5=23, Damage 1d8+1=9

The two Derro again fire their small crossbows at Ath and Reth (Hitting AC 14 and 10 for 4 points of damage, respectively, with the same fort saved DC12 required if they do damage)...

Nope, they miss me.

As Reth takes a bead on one of the derro he quickly discovers just how much that poison coursing through him is causing him problems. Unable to pull the tightly strung bow back it's full extent causes him to shake with the exhertion and throws of his aim.

-2 penalty included both for rapid shot and having strength lower than the rating on the bow.

To hit and damage: 1d20+4=5, 1d8+2=9, 1d20+4=12, 1d8+2=5

Cal's up...

Reaching into her component pouch Calandra retrieves some fine pink sand that she places in her palm and blows gently in the direction of the derro, taking care to avoid her companions and whispers a few words to complete the spell.

Sleep spell, effects 4HD of creatures and it's a DC 16 will save to negate.

Sorry for the delay, boards were own every time I went near them today.

This is my mistake, I had forgotten Ward was in combat. He does indeed flee, and you do indeed get that AAO (Reth's Atk would have missed anyway....)

Can feel it coursin through me, Cal would you mind takin a look at that wound in my back?" Having not seen the new comer as of yet, "These hidden passages are interestin. I would recommend seein where they go."

Second Fortitude save: 1d20+4=5 Well, if you do a heal check I think it replaces that abysmal save.

The second fort save should be after 1 min, so if you get healed in reasonable time, you won't deteriorate further...

Cal looks a little suspiciously at the newcomer, "If you are a cleric, can you do something about This man's injuries?" She points at Reth with her dagger...

Atherton shrugs after a moment and lowers his crossbow, seeming to decide that its better to test the man's trustworthiness when he's healing Reth.
Still holding his crossbow, he goes over and searches the derros' bodies.
