Under the sustained bout of missile fire, both mundane and magical, the beast, wobbles in a way reminiscent of a man staggering backwards. Ward's bow is the final tell though, the huge beast falling silently to the floor under it's fell hit.

What ya gunna do with the dead Otyugh folks?

Ok, Reth is standing panning around with his bow. There is a pile of currently unidentifiable goo with some legs sticking out of it near the Otyugh.

What are you all doing?

As Ward looks over the pile of chewed up remains, the legs that were previously sticking out of the monsters mouth take his notice. They are obviously Shoanti from the dark tone, and are covered in tattoos that Ward can easily identify as being from Gaekhen's tribe. It would indeed appear that these are, the legs you are looking for....Unfortunately, the rest of the body does not seem to be in evidence.

Ok, what's everyone doing? Ath is watching the exists with crossbow in hand, readied to get anything that comes. Ward has searched the pile, and found some Shoanti legs.

Anyone else?

You have a few options for direction, Back the way you came, North, or East.

It quickly becomes obvious to Reth that there are no more shoanti body parts. It also quickly becomes obvious that, although they have been chewed up, the original act that severed legs from body, was performed using a knife, in a surgical manor. The ranger in Reth even notices that the body would have been long dead before that happened.

Ath notices not a lot, the scratching of rats, the flicker of the lamps, but nothing else. The place is eerily quiet for a cave system. Although there is a persistent buzzing sound...

"Nothing here. Look like the choice bits were taken by someone with a blade and a particular attitude." Reth takes a quick look over the pile to make sure there are no Shoanti bits that Ward' missed and then makes for the northern exit, "Let's get this done and get out of this stinkin pit."

I vote North but that is a completely random choice as I have no real idea where things are in relation to one another - no map. Not that this bothers me in the least, just an FYI on decision making process.


Atherton follows Reth wordlessly, staying a few paces back to avoid the worst of the smell emanating from Reth.

There was indeed. A little further north, I forgot to mark it when I created that. You haven't investigated it, yet though, and it doesn't come out in any of the rooms on the map....spooky that :)

The tunnel leads for about 6 or 6 yards, and eventually opens out into another cavers, this one roughly rectangular, 45ft (north-south) by 25 feet. There is an exit to the north, leading off into a darker section, and another, lit section leading away east again.

In the room are three large tables, each of which contains a cage, each of which contains two large buzzing insects with a long proboscis.

Well, not quite each cage. The cages all appear open, and twoe of the insects have gotten out....
