Ok, ignoring Reth's slip above, here is the current situation for both groups. The rules for the chase, when it happens, which should be soon, are posted above (page 30, my second to last post) and the current "map" of the chase is posted on this page at the top.

Reth, Cal, Malik:

With none of the interrogation the group gave the others, Ath and Ward storm past, and are immediately confronted by a decision, there are stairs to the right, leading up, and various rooms on the ground floor, each with a door that on quick inspection proves to be locked, and the front entrance to the occupants rooms (at least that's what the door furniture would suggest). Heading up, you hear a crash, and some voices from a couple of floors above.

In case anyone missed it in the spoilers the room description again....

This one-room flat combines all the amenities of a bedroom, a kitchen, and a painter’s studio into one fifteen-foot-square space, leaving little room for much else. A stack of cheese and bread sits on the counter next to several full waterskins, while the easel in the opposite corner holds a half-completed painting of an imp and a pseudodragon fighting atop a church steeple. A single window looks out over the tangled rooftops of the Shingles.


Home rolled a Perception check (16); IC isn't playing nice today.
Atherton glances around, looking for any obvious clues as to where their quarry went. "She had the right idea; there's a mob coming and I don't want to be here when they arrive."

The ledge looks pretty sturdy, you should be able to climb out, and side step away from the girl a pace, and leave room for everyone else to come out, and follow her possibly faster.

Those of you outside are a few stories up, and can see below, the mod amassing near the foot of the building, it doesn't appear as though they have seen you yet. The way Trina went is clear, if a little precarious, as she has headed off into the shingles.

Ath, your go

I've posted the rules for this twice now up above, but the basis are, move one grid thing per turn, roll one of the two checks to move two grids, and roll both to move three. If you miss a roll, you fall a bit, take some damage, and have to get back up.....

As you are inside Ath, I'm altering that slightly this turn, so you can get onto the grid with no roll, 1 roll moves you 1 grid, and two rolls moves you 2.....

Assume you can see Trina, and that she is within range for the weapons you have...

Reth nods to Ath and hops over to the next rooftop where he kneels and pulls a white painted and fletched arrow from his quiver. The arrow flies true and hits the woman unerringly in the back (I hope she doesn't have better than a 26 AC!). He mutters, "With any luck I can put a quick end to this."

1d20+10=26, 1d8+5=8 Let's see if I can rain on the DMs parade <grin> The sleep arrow deals non-lethal damage and requires she make a Will save DC 11 or fall asleep. Heh, those are painful to use at 132 gp a pop though :(

Assume each card represents 30ft for the purposes of determining range.

Trinia is 4 cards away at the moment (I'll put her on the map...)

As Reth's Arrow flies true, and impales Trinia, she stumbles, and looks back, but doesn't fall.....

Don't believe I ever got a harrow but then the late joining meant not in the reading so I can live without for the moment. I'll give Cal another kick this evening to try to get her back in the groove.

Cal grins at Ath and Ward's conservative approach, and with a grin back to them, dances her way along the walkway and over onto the next roof, using a small Gap the boys would probably be too large for to cut the distance once she is there, hips swaying all the way.

At the edge of the cluttered parts of the roof Malik bumps hard with his shoulder into a stack of crates and stumbles onward.

Technically, failing the check by 5 or more, should mean a fall from the shingles and a trip to get back up....and damage, but I missed those rules when I posted above, and don't want to spoil the fun now, so Malik makes it one Sq....If not the two he intended!

Trinia pauses in her forward movement, and throws what appears to be bakers produce at Cal, not very accurately....As she turns to run again, she waves a small feather too...

1d20+5=13

Cal collapses, apparently giggling to herself on the rooftop, hips no longer swaying....

Echoing Ath's sentiments Reth lines up another shot at the fleeing form and then jumps to the next rooftop.

To hit and nonlethal damage. Needs to make another will DC 11 save if hit. 1d20+11=21, 1d8+5=9

If the MW bow bonus of +1 to hit and the +1 bonus for the magic arrow stack than it's a 22 to hit, not sure on that though

Don't worry about it Arc.....As Ath finishes his go on Trinia's square, he gets to make a single grapple attempt to pin her down.....

Reth, since shooting the bow is a standard action, not full round, you get to move a square too, so I have done that....

Reth's arrow glances off Trinia's cloths, in the strangest of ways, and she barely seems to notice.

Cal is prone, so doesn't get to act....

That makes it Malik...
