Male human (cheliax) Cleric

"funny thing actually" saamer shrugs " the head of my order told me to go for a walk while I was in the middle of studying." sighs and walks over to reth "well I went for the walk and just started wandering around and happend to walk by here and heard what sounded like fighting well I figured if there were any injured, they just might need my help" he puts his hands on reth. cure light wounds (1d8+3=6)

Ward' wanders over to the derro and nudges one slightly with his foot, "This ones still alive, just appears to be sleeping, I could use some patching up when your finished with the others," kicking the derros weapons away from easy reach,

Reth skeptical look still gives away that he remains unconvinced. The healing does go some distance to allaying his fears however. Still feeling the poison coursing through him, "These bolts are poisoned. Ward' and I were shot." The slight tremor in his hands and cold sweat say the rest....


Atherton snorts derisively at the priest's story and mutters something that sounds like 'And I'm the Saint of Magnimar.' while he reoves a length of rope from his pack and binds the wrists and ankles of the surviving Derro.

I'm just waiting for Saamer to post, but you can assume he will do some healing I should think

You have 1 normal exit, the way you came in, and two secret doors to choose from, and one, sleeping Derro. What will you do?

sorry I was stuck on a mission for a couple of days saamer looks at ward and notices he has been injured "would you like me to help you with that" he mutters as no one talks to him and points at ward


Female Human - Varisian Bard 3

Calandra gently strokes Reth's hair as she watches the poison take hold with concern. "You're far too stubborn to let a little poisoned bolt get you" She declares certainly, a small smile on her lips "The only way I know of removing the effects though involves days of bedrest, so just hang in there and we'll nurse you back to full strength when we're done here" She assures him as best she can before focusing on the slumbering Derro.

Without a word she helps herself to the rope Atherton is carrying and uses it to secure the sleeping humanoid, not wanting to risk him getting up whilst healing of the injured men is done and Ath seems too preoccupied with judging the cleric.

Ok, some healing, and a nice tied up Derro later.....

The Derro wakes after a moment or two, and struggles in it's bonds. Cal did a good job though, and it is firmly stuck, though obviously terrified, making muffled noises from behind the piece of cloth Cal shoved in it's mouth.

About the Derro's "persons" you find the folowing items of interest, along with a good amount of muck, stench, and grime. You will smell bad for a few hours too I expect....

2 GP, 1 rustey dagger, a crossbow with 8 bolts left, each dripping a little green.....

Also in the room, are the beds these creatures have obviously been sleeping in, three of them, and dirty wretched affairs they are too, full of bugs, there is also what appears a small maze, a hammer, a pair of pliers, and two Derro sized hammers. There are also a bunch of dead Rats. Their backs appear broken.

Interrogation of the alive Derro will require Diplomacy checks please....

I was waiting for Cal to start off the interrogation, but I guess I'll do it.

Atherton smiles at the little Derro, although his eyes remain cold.
"You got a name? I'm Atherton, and my friends and I are a little curious as to why you decided it would be a good idea to attack us."
Atherton pauses for a moment and meets the small creatures eyes again "Oh, and while we're at it, I was wondering if you might be the little thief that stole a book from my shop."

lol, I would have Reth jump in with his intimidate (+10) but somehow Ath playing the 'good guard' just seems wrong. So we could do 'bad guard/worse guard'.

Ok, in the interests of keeping flow....

The Derro shakes it's head, a little startled as it comes too, the effects of the spell still heavy on it.

Almost immediately Atherton moves towards it, crouching in it's face, and making his speech, he rips the gag from it's mouth, leaving a thin trail of purplish blood. The Derro sits in shocked silence, moving as far back as it can.

Cal's hand on Ath's arm restrains him a little, and as she begins speaking more softly, the Derro begins to gibber incoherently, pointing through the secret door. and looking quickly between that and Cal.

Saamer moves forwards, putting a hand on the Derro and muttering under his breath, it flinches, but between the three of you, has nowhere to run.

Closing his eyes, Saamer begins speaking in time with the Derro, using different words, but obviously the same meaning, even down to the expression on the cleric's face matching that of the distraught Derro.

"There! More! Kill you! Kill me, let go, I flee, no warn. There! more!...."

One use of comprehend languages burnt...


Atherton toys with his crossbow, watching the derro coldly "We should kill him or leave him bound here. Letting him go would be foolish."

Ok, if there are no objections, some cleaning up and some tying of a gag later, off we set out.

You have three exit options, the tunnel these guys came from, the other tunnel, and the way you came.

If you remember the way you came forked too, so you do have another route that way to explore...

Leaving the Derro behind, and following the tunnel they came out of, takes you around 20 ft through a curving tunnel, finally coming to a stone door at the end.

Opening the door reveals an almost circular cave, 30ft across. There is another exit about 15ft away if you follow the cave clockwise around the edge.

The majority of this room contains a nasty-looking stretch of mud—a partially collapsed sink-hole—kept damp by rivulets of water seeping from the walls. A patch of solid ground extends into the mud to form an island, on which is heaped a reeking pile of body parts. To the north, a rickety wheelbarrow sits on its side against the wall.

As you move out into the cave, you hear voice cry out "Warm food!" along with a slobbering noise. An Otyugh is sat, apparently enjoying a pair of legs on the side of the small island in the mud...


Atherton watches the creature with distaste "I say we try to sneak past it."
From a positioning standpoint, is it possible to sneak past it?

Well it said "fresh food"...that tends to suggest that it knows you're there... :)

That said, you could quite easily get past it, and try to out run it...

*That* said, you are hunting a dead body, and it's guarding a pile of body parts.....

Atherton looks speculatively at the beast and then glances furitively at Saamer. In an undertone, he replies to Reth "We could get him to go first, and then surprise that thing while it chases him."

"If any one is going to go play distraction it should probably be myself, its just bad tactics to use your healer in such a role," With that Ward' steps forward keeping his Warclub ready maneauvering to move the Otyughs attention away from the rest of the party.

Seeing Malik's bolt slam into the thing Reth gets down to business and lets two arrows of his own fly at the creature. "At least I'm not what comes out the other end....", his sly smile saying exactly who he thinks is.

Rapid shot: 1d20+4=22, 1d8+3=7, 1d20+4=11, 1d8+3=9 Actually, damage would be one less for each of those shots. So, 6 and 8 respectively.

Now that's what I call taking the initiative!

Ok, lets try this, don't worry about init, post your action and I'll resolve the order before the next round....

I don't have my materials to mark off what damage that did, but it sure as hell did some, though I don't think enough to take it down.

Saamer walks over to reth and places his hand upon the weapon he is holding. speaks a few words and the weapon starts to glow faintly (cast magic wepon Im thinking on reths longsword unless its a dagger) "I hope that helps"

The Otyugh grunts a deep noise as the bolts thud into it, and it drops the pair of dark skinned legs it was chewing on.

As the small fireball slams into it's side, it cries out in rage.

Ath, Cal and Ward still to post for this round. Magic weapon on the bow, lasts for 2 minutes....


"True" Atherton says, smiling coldly at Reth for a fraction of a second before raising his crossbow and firing at the repulsive creature. "You're worse." he finishes, reloading his crossbow.

Indeed, I think Cal and Ward just lost an action....

The Otyugh moves forward into the group, and attacks the closest person, (I'm assuming Ward, as everyone else with missle weapons would probably have pulled back a bit....and Ward is full defensive...). Tenticles come flying from the bulbous body, and crash into Wards relativly small frame.

Ward's Klar flicks this way and that though, nullifying the attacks.

Ding Ding. Round 2. Same drill as last time, take your actions in whatever order and I'll resolve...
