The kobolds head sails through the air and he drops lifeless to the ground. The head bounces and looks surprised.

It takes time but eventually our heroes find themselves in another small clearing. They seem to have escaped pursuit...for now.

As our heroes move through the clearing they find themselves moving though a slightly larger fissure. They are dumbfounded to discover a crumbling entrance to what can only be described as an acient temple build into the rockface. Though the opening is now only large enough for a medium sized creature to enter, it was in the past large enough for a much larger creature.

History 15:
This would appear to be a ruin from the Ghol Gan empire. Renowned for canibalism and blood sacrifice...and Cyclopses

Perception 10:
There is firelight flickering from inside.

Hearing the noise, Valdric shakes his head in disbelief at his foolishnes. I must be exhausted, lighting a fire so close and not thinking they could follow me. Looking around he finds a place to hide where he can see his fire as well as the watch the most obvious exit the newcomers would use.

Getting set in his hiding spot, he readies his crossbow. When they sound like they are almost about to enter, he casts Guidance and gets ready to shoot the first kobold he sees.

Impatiens runs after the others, rattling to a stop when the other human raises his arm. She peers around looking to see what the trouble is.

She had no idea who the Ghol Gans were, but cannibalism and human sacrifice did not sound good. I wonder what they'd make of me? she thought grimly. Probably a quiche she decided. A really big quiche, or a lot of little ones.

"Would you like me to spring the trap?" she volunteered.

Impy had never fought a cyclops. It might fatal or fun. She was unsure which, possibly both. She felt the top of her head. Her bow had gone missing and her hair was loose. Again.

Impy sighed. She looked around one more time, her hands tight on her sword.

Epsy tilts his hat and grins a little to the Hobgoblin. "Espy Kismet. I seek out fortune."

"Impatiens Pallida, pleased to meet you both" Impy curtsies to the both of you.

Impatiens is a tall, burly tiefling of uncertain origin. She has reddish black hair, red skin and red eyes. She doesn't have any obvious feminine physical traits. The again, she doesn't have any obvious masculine traits either. She's wearing armour and her voice is deep for a woman, but high to normal for a man. She does have a feminine inflection to her voice, ending sentences with a vocal lift. Her skin is somewhat lumpy. The scabbard of her sword has a design of butterflies painted on it.

After what seems like hours spent clutching his crossbow and waiting to be attacked, the half-elf stops to wipe his sweaty hands on his tunic. It's really starting to get to me, now I'm hearing voices.

He shakes his head to attempt to refocus, and it finally dawns on him that the voices are real. Thank Erastil, sounds like others got out of there, Im not alone out here. Well, "the enemy of my enemy" and all that.....

During a pause in the introductions, a soft voice calls out from inside where the firelight is coming from. "There still might be kobolds out there, come in here where its safe. Well, safer anyway."

Once Lou is sure that there are no more kobolds he pauses and stares at the stucture.

He catches his breath and pulls out the clay jug he had nearly lost earlier and pops the top and takes a swig.

Ahhhh...No thats much better. anyone want some?

he offers the wine to the group.

Impatiens nods. She cleans her sword off, then wipes the worst of the gore off of her armour. She then sheathes her sword, puts her towel back in her back pack, shoulder the pack and grabs both pila (plural of pilum). She then heads for the fire.

Impatiens has Darkvision to 60'

She takes care not to look at the flame and walks in such a way that she never looks directly at the light.

If you dare to enter.....

Mwa-Ha-Ha:
The rubble that partially blocks the entrance continues into the temple, taking up quite a bit of the cramped space. The fire is toward the back of the space, and a small pile of kindling obviously scavenged from the area sits nearby as potential future fuel.

As you enter, there is movement off to the right as a slender figure emerges from behind the cover of some rubble. His simple clothes are dirty and tattered much like your own, and his face has the haggard look of someone pursued (probably the same look on your own face after the last few hours). His expression changes from shock to relief as he sees you, and he lowers the crossbow he had been aiming toward the entrance.

"I knew I couldn't be the only one who made it out of there! I've been here a while now and you are the first living things I've seen, so I'm hoping we are outside the kobold territory. We should be able to rest here for a while. I am called Valdric." He slightly bows his head as he finishes then looks at each of you intently.

Valdric is tall and slender, with light colored hair and striking violet eyes, clearly a half elf based on his not-quite-human but not-quite-elven features. He is carrying very little gear beyond a few pouches, the crossbow, and a quarterstaff you can see on the ground near the fire. He is wearing no armor but you can see a glint of metal, some kind of jewelry, around his neck.

Epsy shakes the goblins hand, and follows the rest to the guy with the fire light. Cause you can always trust guys with firelight.. cept that one time, but eh, got out of it fine enough.

Epsy was a classic heroic build, always with a cheesy grin on his face and his trademark had on his head. Two whips to his sides, scorpion and normal leather, a knife, a few darts ect over his leather armor.

((Btw, Espy Kistmet does actually mean Seek out Fortune.))

As our heroes sit and recover around the fire a small pile of rocks gets knocked over underneath is a piece of cloth. Inside is a wand.

Impatiens enjoys the fire for a bit, then walks towards where the hobgoblin had pointed.

"Let's see where this leads? Hopefully it's a way out and not a kobold training ground."

She stops, readies one her pila and holds the other in the other hand. Then she walks to the tunnel entrance, stops again and peers inside.

A simple recon of the tunnel shows that, like most of the area it is filled with rubble and continues into blackness

You can see that the corridor is relatively short and it looks like the tunnel opens into another large room about 40 feet past the edge of the firelight.

Perception 20:
There is a scraping sound coming down the corridor

Imaptiens readied her spear (pilum). She held the other in her other hand. If it's a one-eye, will I be able to poke it's one eye out with this? Also, I need to eat more vegetables. All these meats and grains are making me a little wide.
