Korak Fists of Fury |
Oh, Right... Byrd acted preemptively!
Korak steps backwards and uses his Bardiche to trip the remaining opponent.
1d20 + 7 ⇒ (1) + 7 = 8 ¬¬'
Twice. (Using 1 Ki point)
1d20 + 7 ⇒ (18) + 7 = 25
"Timber!" says Korak, whispering to himself as loud and silently as he can...
Korak Fists of Fury |
It seems odd, but as near as I can tell, Prone confers no movement penalty.
¬¬'
Dude...
Crawling
You can crawl 5 feet as a move action. Crawling incurs attacks of opportunity from any attackers who threaten you at any point of your crawl. A crawling character is considered prone and must take a move action to stand up, provoking an attack of opportunity.
Unless he can somehow run while prone (maybe he's half-snake?), his only possible movement is crawling. :)
Also, unless he has Throw Anything, preparing to throw a splash weapon also provokes AoO. ;)
Korak Fists of Fury |
AoO: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (2) + 9 = 11
Well, I suppose karma had to compensate for my last post. :)
Your turn, JK.
Korak Fists of Fury |
Korak searches the bodies of the dead men, looking for anything that might look like an antidote. He gesticulates to Jorriko in the drow sign language.
"Look for an antidote, JK. No one with half a brain carries poison without carrying the antidote as well."
Perception: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (12) + 10 = 22
If Korak finds a vial of anything, he first compares its smell to the smell of the dead ninja's blades and/or crossbow bolt.
Rynjin |
Oh snap.
2d4 ⇒ (4, 2) = 6
Welp, Jo. Looks like you're unconscious for the next 6 hours.
The two search the bodies, and find a number of treasures.
4 Masterwork Wakizashi
2 Mithral Chain Shirts
1 Amulet of Hidden Strength
2 empty vials labeled "See Invisibility"
There is no antidote to be found. From what you saw before battle ensued, the ninjas were very confident in their own abilities, though there may be some to be found elsewhere.
Korak Fists of Fury |
These Ninjas are idiots. Darwin would commend us for killing them. lol.
You can have the amulet if you want, Jorriko. It can restore 2 Ki points as a full round action, and I think Vanishing Trick will be more useful than an extra punch.
Korak sighs as he sees the unconscious Sorceress.
"Lovely... Now we have to carry Tiny around. This job is getting more and more annoying."
He grabs Jo and throws her over his shoulder, hoping that she will wake up out of sheer aversion to the idea of being carried around like a potato sack. He then whispers to Jorriko.
"Well, Jorriko, I hope your scouting skills do not disappoint. We need to find something to wake her up or a way out of here. I'm not confident that I can protect Tiny and kill ninjas at the same time. As finicky as she can be, I'm not willing to leave a friend behind."
He looks at the dead ninja and speaks again.
"Hmm... We can use these guys' armor as a disguise. One of us can use tiny's hat and the other one dresses Jo and himself in armor. But we should find a quieter place to do that. There is no telling when someone will walk in here."
Unless Jo weights something like 129lb or less, Korak suffers medium encumbrance while carrying her. (except during Rage) :(. He won't let her forget this any time soon... ><.
We didn't happen to buy a wand of Lesser Restorarion, did we? :(
Rynjin |
Idiots, or geniuses for not carrying around an antidote to a poison they are in no danger of poisoning themselves with and would only help the enemies who may defeat them? =p
The three suit up (involuntarily, in Jo's case), and move ahead with Jo slung over Korak's shoulder.
There appear to be no other rooms besides a simple storage closet off the main hallway, besides the main room, which is suspiciously quiet at the moment.
You can stash Jo there if you wanna keep going. By the way...sorry Nicos. Figured you'd at least make the second one, since you just needed a 9. =/
Jorriko Krail |
Option 1: stash the Jo. Heal the Korak (?). Vanish the Jorriko. Scout the hall. Detect the magic. Kill the boss.
stealth: 1d20 + 31 ⇒ (4) + 31 = 35
perception with detect magic: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (1) + 13 = 14
Edit: suck the rolls.
Option 2: dress as guards.drag Jo to the bosses chambers. Tell him tht there were intruders, but we subdued them. Ask what he wants to do with the prisoner and then jump him while his guard is down.
Option 3: I try to sneak in and steal the gem by myself.
Korak Fists of Fury |
Idiots, or geniuses for not carrying around an antidote to a poison they are in no danger of poisoning themselves with and would only help the enemies who may defeat them? =p
Nah... They don't have risk of poisoning themselves while applying poison to their weapons. But enemies can still use their poison against them. Or they can accidentally cut themselves or something like that. It'd be a smart move if they were immune to poison, though. Oh well, nevermind. They're dead. Natural selection ran its course... Well... as Natural as "death by half-fiend" can be.
We do have a wand of CLW. Use one charge on Korak and another one of Jo and we move on.
Korak Fists of Fury |
Huh... Now that I revised the fight. It seems I didn't actually take any damage. oO
The first bolt missed, one of the ninjas was retroactively killed before he could hit me and other one had his attack parried. So... Use that 9 on Jo, then, and save your channel, unless you're hurt too.
Korak Fists of Fury |
BTW, do we even know how that guy looks?
Korak Fists of Fury |
Korak takes Jo's hat and uses it to make himself look like the man with the Moon Circlet (which he took put on his own head).
He carefully lays Jo down on the closet. He then uses a dagger to lightly carve a bunch of stick figures making hand gestures on the walls (i.e.: He's writing in drow sign language). The words simply say "Sorry for the headache. We'll meet again ASAP"
He then follows Jorriko, and investigates the door to the main room.
Perception: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (11) + 10 = 21
Rynjin |
Jorriko silently moves across the floor, using his magical senses in tandem with his mundane ones to spot any traps that may lay in wait.
While he detects nothing, Korak claps a hand on his shoulder and gestures to him.
"I heard a sharp click on the other side of that door just now."
Going around the hallway as quickly as possible, they hear similar clicks at the other 4 doors as well.
Disable, or no/which door?
Rynjin |
Jorriko hears two people scramble backwards as a clatter reaches his ears, as if a bunch of sticks hit the ground at once.
Opening the door, invisible, he sees two more guards staring at their ruined trap in disappointment. It appears to have been designed to go off as the door opened, unleashing a large number of bolts at once, but Jorriko disabled it before the thing had been properly put together, causing it to "fire" the bolts all of 3 inches.
At the other end of the room you see an old man stand up, mark his place in a book, and then drink a vial similar to the ones the elite guards had.
He scans the area afterwards.
1d20 + 13 ⇒ (12) + 13 = 25
"Asoko!"
He shouts in a language you don't understand, pointing directly at Jorriko.
Somewhat confused, the two guards stand there like lumps.
In essence, the two guards are surprised, but the old man is not. He acts before you in Initiative, but has taken his actions in getting up from the chair and drinking that potion. It's Jorriko's turn, then the Guards (but they're surprised and confused), then Korak's.
Initiative:
Hon La Chen
Jorriko
Guards
Korak
Korak Fists of Fury |
A room full of people with Dex 17? Not Korak's lucky fight. Heh...
BTW, what's the size of the room? Can we have a Roll20 map? :)
Korak Fists of Fury |
Also... What's the room's source of light? :)
Korak Fists of Fury |
[dice= the Usher vs flat footed guard] 1d20+ 10; 1d10+ 11
[dice= channel smite DC: 16] 2d6
I suggest you go invisible after hitting that guy. :) It's a swift action, after all. Move a little bit too, so they the guards can't be sure where you are. :)
Korak Fists of Fury |
Ah, that's right... Forgot about it. Nvm, then. ;)
Rynjin |
Map. Room is lit from a few sources, torches along the walls and a chandelier type dealy about 30 feet up.
Jorriko pops into existence and slashes into the first guard, cleaving him in twain with a single blow, aided by the dark power sheathing his blade.
"Hon La Chen, tonight the lady calls for you." he says.
"Many have tried, young one. I doubt you'll be the last." Chen calmly replies.
He waves a hand and two more guards, one wearing the Moon circlet, drop from the ceiling with a thump, and stalk towards Jorriko, revealing themselves as they take a swipe at him from either side. They're not flanking, they're both in front of you but in opposite diagonals, with a space in between.
1d20 + 7 ⇒ (18) + 7 = 25
1d20 + 10 ⇒ (15) + 10 = 25
Crit confirmation: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (18) + 7 = 25
Confirmed.
2d6 + 4 ⇒ (1, 2) + 4 = 7
1d6 + 6 ⇒ (4) + 6 = 10
Fort Save Jorriko, and take 17 damage. Korak's turn.
Korak Fists of Fury |
"That's right. I bet 10 silver weights that I'd be the one to deliver the final blow." says Korak, as he moves into the room and strikes the newcomer with his bardiche, doing his best to bring him down. Raging Barbarian Trip!
Barbarian Trip: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (16) + 11 = 27
Korak Fists of Fury |
AoO Trip: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (16) + 11 = 27
Did the forum just get lazy and ctrl+C, ctrl+V my last attack?
Korak Fists of Fury |
Uh... Should something happen now?
Rynjin |
Damn you and your tripping! =p
The lieutenant topples over like a felled tree, landing with a thud and a grunt.
1d2 ⇒ 1
The second guard crawls to his feet and swings his sword at Jorriko, who dodges the blow handily.
You get an attack of opportunity by the way Jorriko.
Jorriko's turn, and he needs another Fort save at the end of it.
Edit: Chen bits edited out in light of poor CMD calculation.
Rynjin |
Chen sighs at his subordinate's incompetence.
"I have to do everything myself, don't I?" he then snaps into a fighting stance, one Korak probably recognizes as being similar to his own.
He flows next to Korak. Attack of Opportunity from Korak.
Korak lashes out with his Bardiche, trying to snatch Chen's feet from under him as he comes adjacent to Korak.
Chen catches his balance and cracks a punch at Korak, shoving fouled Ki at him with the blow.
1d20 + 14 ⇒ (6) + 14 = 20
1d8 + 8 ⇒ (7) + 8 = 15
13 damage and a Fort save to Korak.
Korak Fists of Fury |
Since I didn't spend my swift action for the round, I Sense Motive the attack away.
1d20 + 10 ⇒ (19) + 10 = 29
Korak Fists of Fury |
Kill one of them and go invisible, Byrd. Preferably the one closest to me
Rynjin |
Just because I have nothing to do, can a barbarian use sense motive while raging?
They can use Wis based skills like Perception, so I see no reason why not. Not REGULAR Sense Motive, mind you, since that takes a minute at least (and no concentration in Rage), but an Immediate action doesn't have that issue.
Korak Fists of Fury |
Nicos is trying to stab me in the eyes ¬¬'
