Korak Fists of Fury |

"No point staying in this place if I can't see anything. But the little creeper won't leave this room. Not through that door, at least."
Korak leaves the room and stands guard by the door. With both his bardiche and his body ready for action. Leaving a mage alone is usually not a good idea.
He addresses the Sorceress as soon as he sees her.
"Stay alert, tiny, that thing is not destroyed. Not yet, at least. But I think it's running out of tricks."

Rynjin |

Jo, I'm assuming you have either delayed or readied an action since you didn't have LoS on the thing. Tell me if otherwise, and I'll retcon it for you.
The group hears the pattering of little wooden feet, and the doll runs through the door, trailing smoke behind it as it goes.
Provokes an Attack of Opportunity from you, Korak.
It appears to be heading for large room at the back of the main area.

Jo. |

I delayed. I korak do no kill it I shot him ( with a 5 ft to avoid any AoO)
shot, dmg: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (8) + 5 = 131d8 ⇒ 8

Korak Fists of Fury |

"Not so fast, vermin!" roars Korak when he sees the little toy-clown running out of the smoky room.
Kick to the face!: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (7) + 8 = 15
damage: 1d8 + 8 ⇒ (5) + 8 = 13
He speaks to Jo once more.
"Can't kill what's not alive, tiny. And I'm not taking any unnecessary risks in this place!" Korak then proceeds to chase the toy-creature and attacks it once again.
Kick to the face!: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (14) + 8 = 22
damage: 1d8 + 8 ⇒ (1) + 8 = 9

Rynjin |

Korak takes a swipe at the creature and connects, scooting it along the ground a little further. A missed crossbow bolt from Jo follows soon afterwards.
Korak, tired of the puppet creature, moves forward and slams the doll one last time, splintering it and sending the pieces crashing against the wall.
Assuming you want teh l00tz, there are a few things in the "toybox", should you search it once the smoke clears.

Rynjin |

Jorriko opens the box. Not in the mood for any more shenanigans, he disables the harmless (though annoying) Jack-In-The-Box that was set to pop out.
Inside the box, the group finds a number of items.
-A reinforced version of a jester's motley shirt, colored a not so displeasing hue (a dark purple, with some red trimming). Masterwork chain shirt.
-Some brightly colored poles, set with jester's heads, nestled among the crown of which is a dangerously sharp point. A bundle of 5 Masterwork Javelins.
-A Potion.

Korak Fists of Fury |

Korak laughs with a foolishly proud voice.
"Hahahahaha! As if any of those things could even scratch me. Even in this clown outfit, I'm still 100% awesome! I'm starting to like this place... But I don't think it'll like me when I'm finished."
He looks at Jorriko's new-found loot.
"Meh... Nothing interesting. Unless that's a vial of beer."

Rynjin |

Jorriko takes a coin from his pocket and flips it, then shrugs and goes to the big room, opening it.
What greets him is not pleasant.
There are two jesters standing in the back corners, with menacing grins and hands on levers, along with what appears to be a dormant, though larger and more menacing jester in the center, seated on a sort of throne.
The large jester is dressed in gloomy purple shades, and appears to be made of some kind of white stone.
Before you can do anything else, the jesters pull the levers, sending two large double ended scythe blades swinging through the air.
1d20 + 15 ⇒ (18) + 15 = 33
1d20 + 15 ⇒ (18) + 15 = 33
Both blade connect on Jorriko heavily, then swing back up into the corners of the ceiling with a loud *CLICK*, before slowly starting to ratchet down into position to let loose again. Jorriko notes that it looks like he has mere seconds to move either forward or backwards before they start swinging again.
2d4 + 4 ⇒ (3, 1) + 4 = 8
2d4 + 4 ⇒ (1, 2) + 4 = 7
15 damage.

Korak Fists of Fury |

Since they don't appear to be going anywhere...
Korak pulls his loyal longbow and shoots an arrow aimed at the one jester he can see.
longbow: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (4) + 8 = 12
damage: 1d8 + 4 ⇒ (4) + 4 = 8
WTF? Why so many 4s in the same day?

Jo. |

Another soulbond dolls?
Kn: 1d20 ⇒ 20
(+13 arcana, +8 nature, +2 everything else)
Jo sigh in resignation. I cast Create pit at one of the jesters (DC 17)

Rynjin |

Another soulbond dolls?
Nope, more jesters. Like the ones you fought before.
---------------------------
Jo quickly takes stock of these creatures before fighting them again. She deduces that they SEEM alive, but aren't quite. They appear to be some kind of "Perfect illusory construct", life created through solid illusions. They have the illusion of life in every aspect, an illusion so complete and complex that the line between illusion and reality is blurred somewhat.
In short, they are living creatures with the weaknesses thereof in every way that counts, with some strange animation that keeps them going regardless of their injuries until the illusion breaks completely.
---------------------------
The jester on the left starts dancing around as the earth opens underneath his feet.
1d20 + 5 ⇒ (2) + 5 = 7
The jester, however, has a bout of clumsiness, and dances himself directly into the pit.
2d6 ⇒ (2, 1) = 3
"Heeeeey!" you hear, crying up from the pit, as he begins to climb out.
1d20 + 7 ⇒ (19) + 7 = 26
Meanwhile, Jorriko does an invisible sprint through the still resetting scythes, and takes a mighty swing at the other jester, almost cleaving him in two.
The Jester puts a hand to his side and gives a blood filled grin, as he raises his hammer to smash Jorriko.
1d20 + 7 ⇒ (17) + 7 = 24
But his attack glances off Jorriko's Shield.
Alerted by all the noise, the large stone jester on the throne gets up with a grinding sound, and a loud thump that shakes the room a bit. He takes a surprisingly quick step to the side, then kicks at Jorriko with his right foot, which consists of a large scythe blade.
1d20 + 13 ⇒ (17) + 13 = 30
1d8 + 8 ⇒ (5) + 8 = 13
13 damage to Jorriko. Korak's turn.

Korak Fists of Fury |

"You really know how to make, friends, Jorriko." says Korak as he rushes to aid his fellow tiefling. He uses his natural ferocity in conjunction with practiced discipline, delivering a swift but strong punch to the stone jester
Korak moves closer to the stone jester and activates Rage and his style feats. Then attacks the guy with scythe feet.
Punch the Clown: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (14) + 11 = 25
Damage: 1d8 + 11 ⇒ (4) + 11 = 15
He tries to recognize the stone jester's abilities, thinking it might be some sort of undead, and maybe Korak's seen something like it before.
Kn(Religion): 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (1) + 8 = 9
Then again... Maybe not. ¬¬'

Korak Fists of Fury |

Is it DR/Magic by any chance? Because I bypass that :D.

Korak Fists of Fury |

Korak Fists of Fury wrote:Is it DR/Magic by any chance? Because I bypass that :D.He's made of stone bruh. Take a wild guess what it is lol.
I... Uh... I bypass Hardness too... Yeah, my fists are made of... Uh... Ultimate Adamantine. I just forgot to add it to my character sheet... Yeah, yeah. That's it!

Jo. |

Jo cast daze at the jester that is not in the pit. It is the door big enough for the stone jester to get out of that room?

Korak Fists of Fury |

Uh... Byrd. You do realize you become visible again as soon as you cast the spell, right? You should move.

Jorriko Krail |

no I didn't... I thought it was only an action that required an attack roll. If that is not the case then I will simply 5ft back and SoS. But I will need a ruling for later.
DESCRIPTION
This spell functions like invisibility, except the effect only lasts for 1 round per caster level (maximum of 5 rounds). Like invisibility, the spell immediately ends if the subject attacks any creature.
School enchantment (compulsion) [mind-affecting]; Level antipaladin 1, cleric/oracle 1
CASTING
Casting Time 1 standard action
Components VEFFECT
Range close (25 ft. + 5 ft./2 levels)
Target one living creature
Duration 1 round
Saving Throw Will negates; Spell Resistance yesDESCRIPTION
You give the target a mental urge to kill its nearest ally, which it obeys to the best of its ability. The target attacks its nearest ally on its next turn with a melee weapon or natural weapon. If necessary, it moves to or charges to the nearest ally in order to make this attack. If it is unable to reach its closest ally on its next turn, the target uses its turn to get as close as possible to the ally.

Korak Fists of Fury |

It's pretty much any thing that can be considered an attack, IIRC. Offensive spells included. You still have a move action, though. So you could Vanish -> Move -> Cast. Or, if you'e feeling lucky, Concentration Check -> Cast -> Vanish -> Move.
Invisibility: (...) The spell ends if the subject attacks any creature. For purposes of this spell, an attack includes any spell targeting a foe or whose area or effect includes a foe. (...)
.
BTW, this is the kinda of thing we should use the Discussion thread to talk about. I got so used to posting here I forgot. My bad.
Rynjin |

Yeah Jo, the jester appears to be the right size to fit through the door. It's Medium sized, just on the large side for Medium. Thought about making it Large, but I drew the room too small. =)
Jo meddles with the minds of her foes again, attempting to force the nearly dead jester to simply sit and take its death.
1d20 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 2 = 3
It stops instantly, almost as if it really wasn't inclined to fight any more in the first place.
Jorriko also calls on his unholy powers to inflict a murderous, traitorous rage on the climbing Jester.
1d20 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 2 = 8
It is not much stronger willed than its brother, and it hauls itself over the lip of the pit, and rushes to the stone jester, swinging its hammer at it.
1d20 + 7 ⇒ (12) + 7 = 19
1d6 + 5 ⇒ (2) + 5 = 7
However, while the attack definitely hits, it doesn't seem like the stone jester even notices it has been struck.
@Jorriko: Korak and Nicos are right on this one.
The stone jester, meanwhile, focuses on the unarmed clown who had harmed him a moment ago. Swinging his bladed foot in a wide arc, then slamming his other foot down quickly afterwards.
1d20 + 13 ⇒ (19) + 13 = 32
1d20 + 11 ⇒ (3) + 11 = 14
1d8 + 8 ⇒ (6) + 8 = 14
While the stomp misses Korak, the scythe boot sweeps into him and cuts deeply.

Korak Fists of Fury |

I think this is the first time someone (well... something) actually hits me in this campaign... I don't like it! BTW, what are those javelins made of?

Rynjin |

I think this is the first time someone (well... something) actually hits me in this campaign... I don't like it! BTW, what are those javelins made of?
Regular javelin stuff? Depending on how hard you get your asses kicked they may transmogrify into "Super Ultra Adamantine". =p I figured you guys could take this guy since you've rolled over everything else so far. I don't wanna kill you because I f#$%ed up and miscalculated....though then again there might be some fun things I can do with you if you get knocked out that are unpleasant but not campaign ending...
Though that probably shouldn't happen once Jorriko starts swinging at the big badass construct instead of the small fry lol.

Korak Fists of Fury |

Nah, it's okay. Just wondering if you were pulling a Zelda-esque "Here is the enemy, right beside the one thing that kills it!". lol. Also, just noticed it's my turn. O.O
Korak focus his rage and martial prowess on the stone jester.
"You're not the only clawed clown around here, rocky!"
Punch to the Face: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (10) + 9 = 19 Damage: 1d8 + 11 ⇒ (5) + 11 = 16
Kick to the Neck: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (18) + 9 = 27 Damage: 1d8 + 8 ⇒ (8) + 8 = 16
Clown Claw: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (17) + 6 = 23 Damage: 1d6 + 3 ⇒ (6) + 3 = 9
Clown Claw: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (8) + 6 = 14 Damage: 1d6 + 3 ⇒ (1) + 3 = 4
BTW, I only took 12 damage. DR 2/- rocks! :D

Rynjin |

There we go. That's the damage output I figured you could put out. Yeah, looks like the even match I thought it was now, even factoring in hardness you're doing solid damage to it. Jo, then Jorriko. Y'all are up.

Jo. |

You two geat away 5ft from that ugly stone jster - Korak can take his 5 ft. If they move I cast Create pit on the stone jester and the other jester. DC 17.

Korak Fists of Fury |

"Save your spells, tiny. We still have more to explore in this place. They might come in handy in our next battle."

Rynjin |

So what I'm assuming what's happening is that Jo's readying her Create Pit, on the condition that Korak and Jorriko move out of range after attacking (actually, Korak's already out of range)? Also, Jorriko, you can't move to flank since there's a jester in the only spot you could get to a flanking position from. You still hit though. I also assume you'll 5 ft. step afterward to get away from the incoming Pit? Going forward with this in mind, for now.
Jorriko moves in and slices at the stone jester, his sword actually biting in and leaving a mark in his arm. While the construct keeps moving as if nothing has happened, he's obviously in a weakened state and shouldn't be able to take too much more punishment.
Jorriko then quickly moves out of the way at Jo's cry, and a pit opens up beneath his two foes.
1d20 + 5 ⇒ (16) + 5 = 21
1d20 + 2 ⇒ (18) + 2 = 20
Unfortunately for Jo, both creatures nimbly escape the area of the pit, the jesters retaliating against the only target within range: Korak.
The jester at the back tosses a banana at him, hoping to make him trip and fall.
Ref save to avoid falling prone.
The second, nearest him, swings his hammer.
1d20 + 7 ⇒ (8) + 7 = 15
And misses completely, slamming it into the ground with a loud squeak.\
The stone jester, caught between two people, has a hard time making up its mind to attack. Deciding to split the difference, he lashes out at both.
Jorriko: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (8) + 13 = 21
Korak: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (18) + 11 = 29
His massive scythe blade sweeps through Jorriko's area, narrowly mising him as Jorriko dodges slightly so it glances off his protections.
Korak is not so lucky, taking a mighty kick to the chest.
1d8 + 8 ⇒ (4) + 8 = 12
10 more damage to Korak.
However, as none were able to move the sloped walls of the pit call for them.
1d20 + 7 ⇒ (11) + 7 = 18
1d20 + 7 ⇒ (1) + 7 = 8
1d20 + 4 ⇒ (12) + 4 = 16
One of the jesters loses his balance immediately, and tumbles into the pit, hitting the ground with a wet smack.
Not long afterwards, the construct pitches in after it, hitting the ground with a thud, and crushing the jester beneath it, though it seems unharmed itself.
2d6 ⇒ (3, 6) = 9
Jorriko, as well, begins to slip.
Ref save at +2 to avoid falling in since you're right next to it. Korak will have to as well if he ends his turn there. The stone jester is in the pit, along with the one Jorriko almost chopped in half. It's dead now.

Korak Fists of Fury |

Wait... Is it my turn again? Where are the other clowns? Is each one of them in a different pit or did they fall into the same one?

Korak Fists of Fury |

Okay then
Korak unleashes more strikes against the jester in front of him. Expecting to break his target and then move on to the bigger fish. Fists and claws rain over his opponent.
1d20 + 9 ⇒ (6) + 9 = 15 damage: 1d8 + 11 ⇒ (1) + 11 = 12
1d20 + 9 ⇒ (9) + 9 = 18 damage: 1d8 + 8 ⇒ (4) + 8 = 12
1d20 + 6 ⇒ (4) + 6 = 10
1d20 + 6 ⇒ (1) + 6 = 7
He then steps backwards to avoid the slippery area around Jo's newly created pits.
Is this karma compensating for my last set of rolls? ¬¬'
