Jorriko reveals the Orb Room, which causes a door to appear in the wall next to the bar, and swing open.
Inside is a plain stone room, 20 x 20. In the center is a pedestal with the orb seated on it, though the orb looks surprisingly smaller than you expected it to be, only about 3 centimeters in diameter.
Korak Fists of Fury |
Korak inspects the tiny orb without touching it or even getting closer than 10ft away from it.
"Is that it? It's pretty small... But I'd not touch it before finding out what it does. Depending on what it's capable of, giving it up for a few gold coins might not be a good idea either."
Rynjin |
Korak gets a little closer, until he can read a small plaque on the side of the pedestal.
Whosoever holds this Orb will be undefeatable. By making it this far you have proved your worth. Take the Orb, with my blessing.
At that, the orb pops off the pedestal, rolls across the ground, and hops up into Korak's hand.
Korak Fists of Fury |
Just for a second, Korak is a surprised that the orb chose the only one of the trio who is incapable of casting spells, but then he remember how incredibly awesome he is (or at least thinks he is) and his surprise is replaced by agreement.
"I'm already invincible! But it's okay, I'm sure be twice as invincible! Can you speak, Orbie?"
Rynjin |
@Jorriko: You don't know JACK.
Korak begins speaking to the Orb. To his very midl surprise, it speaks back.
"Of course I can speak, O Master. How else would I be able to praise your prowess and magnificence at the end of each game?"
Korak Fists of Fury |
"You can start by telling me your name, if you have one. Also, what can you do? Can you make yourself, this place and/or me and my friends impervious to those pesky peeping-tom spells used by mages and priests? Can you make an orb that looks and talks like you? Not one with all your abilities, whatever they may be, just one that could pass for you, if necessary..."
Rynjin |
"You can call me whatever you like, Master. I am the Orb. I could go by Orbie, if you wish."
"But, I am sorry, I cannot do those things you said. I just make you unbeatable! In the only arena that matters!"
Rynjin |
The Orb sounds puzzled at this.
"Marbles, Master, I thought that's why you came to get me! I'm the perfect marble, an unmarred sphere, indestructible. I impart more force on the other marbles than my mass should allow, but not TOO much that the opponent gets suspicious. In the same vein, I'm like a guided missile, I subtly veer towards enemy marbles, so I never miss. I can change the effective weight I hit the target with up to 5 pounds, without changing my ACTUAL weight. Best of all, I can glow in pretty patterns so you'll never accidentally get me mixed up with the enemy's warrior orbs!"
At that, he begins to glow, and slowly change colors, from pink, to purple, to green, to red, and so on.
"We're going to have SO much fun, aren't we Master?"
Korak Fists of Fury |
"Sure, why not. The Ultimate Marble is the only marble worth of my skills!"
Rynjin |
As near as Jorriko can tell, the marble is telling the truth.
I could see saying it's a +1 seeking/returning sling bullet, actually, on the condition that you not sell it for cash (at the very least until such time as you should be able to afford such items on your own).
Jo. |
give me that - Jo takes the wand without really caring about her partners or the talkig orb. - Lets see what this can do .
Jo go to a room and create a big bed, hundred of women shoes, perfumes and jewels
Ok, I think I can get accostumed to this
Jorriko Krail |
So after a good nights rest, we should go after the last job. As far as this hideout goes, we need to see if we can get a couple extra keys made, and have the outside "guardian" only admit those with a key and password. We can keep all valuable/ sensitive items in the orb room and keep it hidden.
Thoughts?
Jo. |
I buy a hat of disguise and use it to change my appeareance to that of an older woman (mid 40), and a really diferen face. Then I try to discover some info about the guy who hired us to recover the orb
Gather info: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (3) + 13 = 16
Nevermind...

You two see what can be done and Jo will try to do something about the last job.
Jo (as a young blande Half-elf) go to the Calistria's Fortune to look for the two guards that live there and to see what kind of place that inn is.
Korak Fists of Fury |
,You know you can take 10, right, Nicos? ^^
Korak spends the next 4 days practicing his unique style of martial arts in the group's new-found base. He does so in order to learn a perfect mix of discipline and ferocity, now becoming able to use his inner reserves to boost his agility if necessary.
Retrain rules FTW! :D
Late at night he goes back to his redecorated room. It's a rather simple room, having only a bed, a wooden chest, a vase with a extraordinarily small tree in it, a desk and a few books. All these objects are very well crafted, but still very simple, almost like a room one would expect to find inside a monastery.
Whatever magical lighting illuminates the room is deactivated.
Korak Fists of Fury |
I don't know what you're talking about. That italics formatting was completely accidental. ^^.

Just in case the DM missed it :)

kn local: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (15) + 9 = 24
what is a group who is rival to the Mandrigal? And do we know a name of one of their operatives? Can his name be Patsy O'Toole? Also, what would be an acceptable bribe offer to have Frank Hardwick switch the files?
forge papers: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (9) + 9 = 18
I want to create a case file that leads to another party and person in specific if possible. If not, I want to pin it on Charles
Rynjin |
@Jo: I did miss it, actually. Sorry about that.
Jo changes her appearance and checks out Calistria's Fortune.
It's not particularly upscale, but neither is it run down. It's a very homey inn, and caters to a number of long-term residents, including the two guards, who seem quite content there, and have a camaraderie with both each other as well as the innkeeper and his wife.
@Jorriko:
Jorriko asks around the home base a bit to see if he can find any information on Mandrigal's rivals.
He doesn't come up with much. The only real "rivals" are minor street gangs and some scattered remnants of old syndicates and mafias that operated and thrived in Myrial over half a century ago.
On the surface, there are a number of hard rivals, but digging a bit deeper, most are either subsidiaries of the Mandrigal (run to mislead people as to their real strength), or are in some way connected and allied with them.
The general consensus seems to be that your best bet is an old mafia boss, an elven raised half-elf named Pahtsee Oh'tewl, who still has a fair amount of respect and pull in the underworld, if not as much as he used to. He's one of the very few it's plausible could have something to do with this.
Jorriko takes this information, and uses it to forge some papers leading the investigation to Pahtsee, good enough that they won't raise suspicion.
All that remains is to get the papers into the guard office.
Jorriko does a little more digging, and comes up with something almost immediately.
Frank's an infrequent patron of the Milk Bar, an upscale brothel. It seems that every 3 months or so, he saves up enough money to visit the place, and asks for the same "lady", every time, a woman named Scarlett, who he actually seems genuinely infatuated with.
Jorriko deduces that getting him a night with his favorite escort might be a good way to buy him off.
Jo. |
Jo change again to looks like a young female red haired teenager, and go the the guarded outpost. Jo want details about the outpost, how much is the outpost guarded during the day?, how much is guared during the night? I use etect magic to see if any of the gaurd present (including the capitan) have some magic possion.
Jo have pacience, she can spend all the day looking for that information (she change her appearence multiple times to do this).
Auron Luckstride |
Don't forget to use your alias. And use the ooc formating for, you know, ooc stuff. Our campaigns should look good!!! :D
Korak Fists of Fury |
It was on purpose. Auron is wiser than Korak. :D
Bluff: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (12) + 3 = 15
Rynjin |
Jorriko takes to the rooftops, remaining unseen as Jo approaches the guardhouse and starts flirting with the ones in front of the door.
"So, are you guys out here all day? It must get...hot out here, right?" she says with a flick of her hair and a "subtle" presentation of her youthful assets.
One of the guards stammers out a reply.
"Oh, uh, yeah, there's usually two of us out here during the day, one at night. We don't really have anything important to guard, but you have to take the job seriously, you know?"
While the two are distracted, Jo steps back and starts fanning her face with her hand, as if to cool off, quickly making some magical signs during the motion and activating her arcane sight.
It takes a while, and she gains nothing from the 6 normal guardsmen, but after a while the captain wanders within range and her magical senses pick up a bright aura from him, centered around his sword, armor, and spectacles.
Spellcraft if you want to figure out what they are.
Other than that, Jo can garner little information. The outpost is small, only three rooms (a bathroom, the storage room with the cabinets, and the main lobby) besides the few cells in the basement, and there doesn't seem to be any hidden secrets to it.
Auron Luckstride |
I did cast Teleport and Greater Teleport like 5 times in 2 days... Not to mention my domain ability. That's an awful lot of cities to visit.
Rynjin |
Well, you could gank the cap, but it'd make your job a bit HARDER (you'd have to cover his disappearance. Perhaps paint him as an accomplice to the mob boss, who killed him for being incompetent enough to implicate them?), or you could wait until he falls asleep and jack his stuff.
Korak Fists of Fury |
Slow day today, it seems.
I'm just not sure what to do with Korak right now. I don't think running around the town without the others is safe at the moment. One ambush a week is enough. Heh. Besides, Korak's been perfecting The Way of the Beast for the last 4 days.
Korak Fists of Fury |
Eh... I'm fine. If I think of something useful and/or interesting to do, I'll act. For now, let Jo have her fun.
Jo. |
The problem is that Jo do not really know what to do. It was too easy to know about frank, it was too easy to know how to bribe frank. Maybe is me distrusting the skill system but That really sound like a trap for her, not to mention that if it was easy for us it shoudl be easy for everyone, particulary the captain probably already know this.
Tis is probably more a stealth-Invisibility job
