It's actually worth noting, that I could see an entire group of bards playing this AP, and it would be glorious. Bard is one of those classes with a ton of options, and one need only look at the names of the APs to see that at least in the middle acts 'Song' and 'Dance' play key roles. :)

Assuming a successful outcome to the affair, they could save time and play themselves in the subsequent play detailing the adventures of the new Silver Ravens as well.

@Hotaru they could, though inspire courage wouldn't stack :( Which admittedly is practically the only thing my archetype didn't replace!

@Bards - There are plenty of Bard archetypes to go around for everyone that does replace Inspire Courage. If one really want : )

And even if you all have Inspire Courage, everyone can sing/dance/whatever at different times. :) Go first? Begin your soliloquy!

While surely an amusing idea, I doubt I'll want to try an all-bard group for my first pbp - I agree it could be amusing though, on multiple levels.("Amateur...I only need to speak a verse of my poetry every 2o seconds to keep you hanging on my lips in awe..."(Lingering Ferformance), or the selfish Archeologist with his private luck Bonus:"Hey, I'm already dealing with traps for you...how much more do you demand! You're worse than the tax collectors")

I'll take some time on the weekend to check through characters again, and will likely post a sorted list of submissions so far on monday, so newcomers can see which niches are less crowded.

Finished my 10-Min background and added it to my profile

10 Min Background:

Step 1: Write 5 background and concept elements that you feel are important to your image of the character. These can be a concept overview, a list of important life events, a physical description, a personality profile...whatever you need to get an image in your mind.

1) Has a talent for the magical healing arts, but keeps it secret by using her skills as a doctor.
2) Always keeps her word when given.
3) Taller than the average halfling.
4) Wears a mask of cheerfulness, but is calculating and protective.
5) Not very skilled with a sword.

Step 2: List at least two goals for the character. At least one of these goals should be one that the character has, while another should be one that you, as a player, want to see developed over the course of the game.

1) Try to find out what happened to her parents.
2) Use her skills to guide and support those that want to cause change.

Step 3: List at least two secrets about your character. One is a secret the character knows, one is a secret that involves him but that he is not actually aware of yet. This will help me in creating plots that center around your character. I will also be creating a third secret which you as a player will not be aware of, so expect some surprises!

Known: Hides her magical healing talents with the use of her medical training.
Unknown: what happened to her parents.

Step 4: Describe at least three people that are tied to the character. Two of them are friendly to the character, one is hostile. If you like, you can include an enemy of yours here as well, so I have an instant NPC nemesis to throw at you.

1) Dwalm Sensewi – Ellina’s father who was a slave in the mining camp that she lived in. Status: unknown
2) Awo Sensewi – Ellina’s mother she was tasked with the food drives to feed the camps. Status: unknown
3) Unknown person – The person responsible for betraying her parents that lead to the burning of her home.

Step 5: Describe three memories, mannerisms, or quirks that your character has. They don't have to be elaborate, but they should provide some context and flavor.

1) Becomes nervous when faced with a situation that she has not prepared for.
2) Has nightmares about large fires. So she’s a little weary of it.
3) Not very confident when using her sword, But doesn’t hesitate to get into the fray to mend the wounds of fallen soldiers.

Now I'm not sure which would be more fun, all bard or all vigilante...maybe all gestalt bard/vigilante for good measure.

there's a Brute archetype for the Vigilante class where basically you become the Hulk

Probably move me down to Divine seeing how my build is more of a healer than a Martial.

You could even add in a Maestro blooded Sorcerer for the full caster.

I'd say Miranda probably has one feet in the Arcane and one in Skilled. The final focus could certainly be adjusted after the rest of the party, if picked : )

Baelir wrote:

Crossblooded Maestro Imperious, as Imperious gets bardic performance at 15th.

Ellina Sensewi wrote:

Done, and also fixed the link to your alias, I'd forgotten the http:// on yours.

Yea, Gestalt for some, but not all complicates these simple categories. Went ahead and moved you because of your archetype being more castery.

Please be gentle.

Editing is enabled. Please only edit your own things, or things that are clearly wrong. Remember, I can return to a previous revision if monkies get hold of the typewriter.

Key and Key Information:

I was pretty frivolous with giving away '.5' to people. .5 Means that you clearly made an investment towards being able to do that, but might not necessarily be able to do it now.

I did not give more than 1 between melee and ranged combined, because at level 1, you literally cannot optimize for both, so .5 in each for switch-hitters.

I don't care for 'Arcane' v. 'Divine' options, as those don't nearly describe what the character is going for.

Heal means able to heal reasonably well.
Control means control magic or feats towards CCing or reach weapon (.5 on its own).
Enable means buffs and cleanses.

I left skilled as just skilled (rather than breaking it into skill types), because I really, really don't want to go through and look at every person and go 'book-monkey' 'face-monkey' 'sneak-monkey', etc. :)

I put strike-throughs in things I noticed that didn't follow the character-building ruleset as I understood it. ?'s point out things I just couldn't figure out in the 1-2 minutes I looked at each profile.

Please look at the sheet and ensure you see if anything is amiss.

Also, I really wish I'd noticed Juliette's version, so I could sneakthief from her work. :P

There is a box near the far right that enables you to opt in to post-start selection.

I'm not sure the GM will be interested in that, but feel free to put a Yes in there if you'd be happy to step in for MIAs and their ilk.

Very nice

Fixed a minor hickup (Name: Gem -> Green. Although your version sounds nice too, so I have to think on it :P)

Otherwise nice job you too : )

Thanks Juliette. Seeing how your putting VMC in can you put (VMC: Oracle -Life) in there

@Hotaru - Can't use google Doc at work :/ I'll have to wait to get home to review it.

Yeah, that's a mental hiccup. I once had an elf with the last name 'Ilphukiir' which basically stole pieces from suggested elven surnames in 3.5 (to mean Gemblossom). :)

@Hotaru, that's a nice spreadsheet, you left out archetypes though you did seem to keep them in mind for determining roles. Also yay you gave me three 1s, though I don't expect to remain that balanced with respect to Ranged, Skilled, and Enable - as you categorized them.

Juliette Aulamaxa wrote:
@Lorik I don't think the boon allows an aasimar to get fast learner, due to this part "Racial Heritage is NOT applicable for this, same for mixed heritage races(half-elf). Only the Feats specifically calling out the race you ARE apply." I couldn't help myself but look at your profile since we're the same class and choose the same campaign trait, as well as both have noble scion with the same family. Not trying to sound accusatory, I simply had to check out my competition.

Quite right. That was actually a previous version I mis-constructed that hadn't yet updated :s fixing now...

That's what I get for trying to edit at 2:30 AM...

Thanks a lot to both of you.
I had already suspected as much from what I saw so far, but I'm especially glad that all the boon options see about the same amount of use. That suggests I did not err completely in my assessment of their validity/impact (as there is neither a clear leader among them, nor one clearly avoided).

=^^=

@Ellina: I put you at .5 for healing. At level 2, you skyrocket, but right now you're not great at it (which isn't a problem! With a witch with two sets of cure light wounds, the party already has one 'healer' available!), along with a full rank in Melee. With Smite and a solid con, you work well as a wall. :) (If curious, I'm 1 healing, .5 Enabling. We're amongst the least flexible... which looking at it, that's the case for every VMC. The highest number I gave out at level 1 for a VMC character seems to be 2. The highest number I've given is a 3, which was mostly for gestalts. Juliette as a non-gestalt still got a 3, because Bard Enabler, Archer Archetype and feat, Bard Skills)

@Juliette: Yeah, from a purely utilitarian point of view, my character is actually a pretty bad choice, now that I've put it to paper :P My character's spell choices just aren't that useful in combat at this point, and out of combat are of limited use. I wind up being a decent skill-monkey now that I look at it, but I don't feel I meet the 'levels of skill investment' I'd require of that.

I didn't want to put Archetypes in for the sake of saving a lot of space. I could turn off wordwrap and put the archetypes in. Do you think that would help? :)

@Lorik: Updated!

It's also surprising how many humans there are considering we were practically given free reign on races.

It's worth noting however that the boons are definitely not balanced at level 1, after all VMC gives nothing at first level and Gestalt gives a lot more then 1 feat.

I'm honestly surprised we haven't seen a gestalt arcane/divine that will go mystic theurge after level 3

@Hotaru honestly I mentioned it because at least a couple of us (myself included) are heavily altered by our choice of archetypes. Juliette for example can only cast a single first level spell each day at this point so she is heavily an archer (however she has lots of performance rounds). Also, being a bit of a skill monkey almost seems like a requirement for this AP to me, you stand to lose so much if you aren't prepared for the inevitable social situations. I'm also not sure that post count is necessary since you're listing the post count on the alias and I personally keep posting with this alias (she was below 10 and able to be changed before the recruitment).

I could try make one. Drow excel at that too =^^=

@'Point Ratings' - I am considering recycling my favourite Magus trick and getting a trait for 1st level Rimed Frostbites. Then at later levels one can use it as an opener and TWF with a shortsword or something in the off hand.

That should at least score a solid .5 in the 'debuff' department even if going into melee combat with a armour-less archetype feels dicy :P

Edit: @Humans - they have the nice perk of having somewhat easy to blend into the crowd. Good if the Dottarii is after you I guess.

@Mystic Theurge - not a bad idea. Would be kinda cool to see one : )

Why not, busy making one
Damage MT. So channel NE

I'm also probably going to make a second character just for funsies. Why not right?

Is recruitment still open for late arrivals?

This looks like a fun campaign to get involved with.

I have extensive RP experience if limited experience on these forums.

I would like to bring in a literal shrine maiden from Minkai (shaman/monk gestalt) she is chasing after her brother who suddenly left home and the last clue she got lead here. Once she arrived she was appalled at what the government was doing.

I will make up the stats later when I have more time, but will be focusing on healing/supporting with healing hex and such with crusader's flurry naginata to fall back on when violence is needed.

10 minute background:

Himegawa Hinata, Kami no Miko NG monk/shaman (life) gestalt

1) she is a young idealistic assimar shrine maiden from a shinto temple in a rural region of Minkai
2) growing up she spent most of her time following around her older brother Shinku, as their parents were often busy with the shrine
3) her brother left home suddenly and with no explanation, Hinata did not take it very well
4) she is very naive and sheltered and has a hard time believing people are capable of evil and deception
5) once she got word where Shinku went she dropped everything to go after him, only leaving a simple 'going to find shinku' note for her parents
6) has not been in the city long, and speaks with an accent, but is appalled by the acts of its rulers and wants to help
7) has not quite been cheated out of all her money yet, and has managed to find temporary lodging in the attic of a herbalist who she helps by tending the plants
8) has run out of clues as to location of her brother
9) thinks that the rulers could not possibly be evil and thinks that negotiation and peaceful protests is the way to go (yes she is that gullible, and will be quite shaken when proved wrong)
10) is a vegetarian

goals

1) to find her brother and convince him to come back to Minkai (once she finds out what he has been doing, it will change to redeem him, if she/the party is forced to kill him it will break her heart but will prove to be a good rp moment)
2) to help make things better for the people she sees suffering
3) do enough good that her parents don't yell and scream too loudly when she gets back home
4) not get forced home against her will

secrets

1) she was expressly forbidden to leave home and told to forget about her brother, and left in secret, her family is likely looking for her to take her back home.
2) the rest of her family is human and her birth as an aasimar was seen as a divine portent, she was supposed to lead the temple when she get older and wiser.
3) What she does not know is that the heirloom naginata that she took when she left was more than just an ornamental object hanging on the wall. (could be sentimental to her father, has historical significance, or whatever evil plot the DM feels like springing)
4) what she doesn't know is that her brother was adopted and left home when he discovered his real family was of the nobility here, and he is now one of the people responsible for the oppression. His mother came to this region to escape his evil father when he was baby, but died due to illness shortly after and he was taken in by her parents who knew all along who his real family was and did not want him to find out.

people

1) parents: they are kind but authoritative and over protective, they will be trying to get her to come back home (indirectly, see ninja)
2) Old Man Henderson: elderly owner of the herbalism store she has been working at recently, he is kind, and unknown to her, a member of the resistance
3) brother: she cares for him deeply, but he is now a member of the ruling classes, she only sees him as the kind older brother she remembers, not as the cruel man he has now become
4) ninja: she knows not his name or that he is even here, his job is to get her back to the temple she left
5) Tina: barmaid at the tavern near where she works, Hinata has become friends with her and Tina is the source of most of what she knows about the city and current events.
6) Oglaf: Owner of the bar Tina works at. Hinata worked for him in the kitchen when she first came to the city, until he found her a job working for Old Man Henderson, as she is much better at growing plants than cooking them, the fact she hated cooking meat (and had no idea how to) also influenced this decision. Oglaf is also a member of the resistance.
7) Tama her spirit animal, a minor kami that tries to give her advice and keep her out of trouble, he is not all that good at it.

memories

1) she remembers her brother taking care of her when she was little, and remembers him being kind and patient especially when teaching her how to fight with a naginata
2) she remembers him and her parents having a massive argument the night before he left, but her room was too far away to hear exactly what they were arguing over.
3) she remembers quite a few times Tama told her to not trust someone on the trip here, but not knowing why. (Tama actually bothers to roll sense motive, Hinata doesn't)
4) she remembers getting seasick more than once on the boat ride here
5) she remembers the sailors on the ship paying her a lot of attention, but is not sure why, and did not understand what they were saying half of the time, she put it down to language barrier, Tama laughed his ass off and refused to explain why he thought it to be funny.

There's still about a week, Anix. :) I'll throw you on the sheet, and place a 1 in healing (waiting to see how everything else works out for the rest!)

Struggling too much to build this character. Think ill stay with the fighter

Still plenty of time, GM said we have until like the 28th.

Though I strongly suggest you have some sort of investment in Kintargo, which I'm not seeing in your character, your investment in Kintargo seems limited to finding your brother and leaving.

The character's investment in Kintargo is the friends she has made there (Henderson, Oglaf, and Tina) two of which are in the resistance already.

Also, it is unlikely her brother will be easy to convince to leave, I expect (hope) that the DM will make that plot line last most of the campaign and have it be a recurring source of drama (the good interesting kind, not the bad kind like found on facebook)

Your spreadsheet is awesome. Should I just edit "Yes" For the column under Race Feat for my character? There aren't enough racial feats for Fetchlings to get eight (they only get six, two of which ?I can't qualify for until level 9+). Mordred said they'd add more if there weren't enough, so I'm waiting to see what gets added to choose (assuming I'm selected, of course).

Just put the name of the feat there. :)

Wouldn't you just select Gloom Sight for level 1 and then wait to see what he adds for level 2? Although light sensitivity weakness, ouch.

@Hotaru, what is the Will fill after start supposed to mean?

Put a yes in there if he can give you a 'callback' if he doesn't choose you, and then has someone drop. :)

In all likelihood, I probably will, but I'd like to know what else is available first.

When are the additional racial feats added and drawbacks handed out: For both the additional racial feats for those races concerned, as well as for the individual drawbacks, I'll make the relevant choices in case the characters get picked.
In both cases the input you as player need to make has already been provided(background and race), so there is only "work" for me left...and since I may well waste time deliberating with myself between 2 or more choices that seem to fit, I'll post-pone these decisions until after I have choosen players, then work that out during the days pre-game, when final alterations can be made.

Yes, we're still open. And we do welcome the tainted: To those wondering, yes, the recruitment is still open, and a number of people have dotted with ideas and several of those will hopefully deliver.
With Kintargo's original(our Kintargo will have a few more citizens...and a compensating higher lethality) demography of 10,115 humans, 476 halflings, 357 tieflings, 119 half-elves, 833 others, I had also hoped to see some more tieflings in the recruitment. While every race has equal chances, I would love to see another tiefling or two available. So if someone's new to the party and has no idea which direction to go, that may be a good basis.

Hey, you just didn't pick me, and this is crazy, but here's my opt-in, so pm me maybe?: Regarding the callback option in the sheet: While I truly hope it will not be necessary, my experience with pbp so far suggests otherwise. IF someone drops or disappears, I will contact the next best fit who has a yes on the option. If there's no really good fit, I'll contact someone who does have a yes, picking with an elaborate decision mechanism, asking if they want to create something to fill the gap.
I can already say that there is a LOT of quality submissions, and I will have a hard time choosing. But I will probably choose on basis of trying to cover all angles for the group with good flexibility...that means even people with a great submission that impressed me may end up not picked because I needed someone else in their category to fill a niche. As such, I would very much want to give these people another chance if a slot opens, getting them in directly, rather than run a re-recruitment.
As such, I do hope there's some people opting in to the option(and no, it will not influence who I pick, in neither direction), but I understand if you don't want that.

I went ahead and took Gloom Sight, rejiggered my skills since I'm taking trapfinding in lieu of poison use, and changed traits again. Also, there's a profile now.

Woah. A grand total of 1 tiefling. Thought there was at least a few more.

(Also I totally didn't backstab all other tiefling applicants just to boost my chances. >.> Totally not... :P

Liberty's Edge

Here is my proposal, hope you like her as much as I do.
The Red Rose

Background:
Her parents, small merchants Abraham and Chloe, always taught their daughters to be gentle and fair. They teached them to respect the others, specially those suffering from poverty or oppression. The Halflings working at their business or home were treated with respect, as helpers, and never as slaves. Those ideas flourished in the Sloboda sisters, and the seeds planted in their hearts are ready to bloom into a rose bush of liberty. All the family follows the faith of Milani, bidding their time for the moment when the fight for freedom will begin.
Wyssal, 21 years old, is the oldest. Always the leader of her sisters, she leads by example, boldly, without fear. Next is Voyla, 19 years old, trying to become a Cleric of Milani. Note: If the Leadership feat becomes available Wyssal will take it and Voyla would be her cohort. Finally her small sister Rose, only 16 years old, more delicate and innocent than her sisters, but also the most beautiful.
Wyssal has studied to become a Barrister, trying to use the law to protect the poor and innocent from the laws of tyranny, while looking for her chance to change things for the better. Her training has been under a old Halfling barrister (a slave highly trained in legal matters) called Sumak Kniha. (Another follower if possible.)
At nights she also makes rose "drawings" in several parts of town. She has plans for making a printing press and get a "news" flyer business, together with a Gnome tinkerer, Halungalom Atrament, with ideas similar to hers (Yes, another possible follower). About her possessions she dresses plainly and lives modestly. She carries proudly an elegant and colorful Rose Brooch, and hides a Silver Milani Holy Symbol. For her "rebellious" activities she picked up her nom-de-guerre, "The Red Rose".
And now, with discontent bursting in her city, she knows the time for liberty to appear, and for tyrants to fear the wrath of justice.

Ten minutes background:
Step 1: Write five things about your character’s concept and background, five things that you think are the most essential parts of your character.
- She is a leader. She leads by example. She organizes, plans, controls.
- She believes slavery is an aberration. It should disappear.
- She likes Halfling very much, and will help them whenever possible.
- She is a firm believer in Milani.
- She believes the law must exist to protect the citizen's freedom, and not the tyrant's rule.
- She would lay down her life down for her cause.
- She would also lay down her life for her family.
- She dislikes Diabolism.
Step 2: List two goals for the character that you, as a player, think would be cool to see accomplished in-game.
- Have her lead the resistance in town.
- Organize and publish her newspaper, furthering freedom in Cheliax.
Step 3: List two secrets about your character.
- The thinks all the races should like together, in peace, and with the same rights... except tieflings. She knows there are good tieflings, and that being half devils is not their fault, but she can't help but dislike and not trust them.
- She envies her sister's Volya "calling" as a cleric of Milani. She would have liked to be a cleric, but the "call" never happened to her.
Step 4: Describe three people that are tied to the character though blood, romance or honor. Two of them are friendly to the character, one is hostile.
- Voyla Sloboda: A young cleric of Milani, with slender figure and long legs, beautiful but shy, stealthy but brave. She would become the spiritual, and maybe even surpass Wyssal as the true leader of the rebellion if she has the chance.
- Rose Sloboda: Young and beautiful, protected by the family, longs to become a diva in the Opera houses of the city, not having the same revolutionary fervor of the rest of her family. I mean, she support he idea, but prefers the opera.
- Halungalom Atrament: Gnome tinkerer, firm believer that the printed word, available to the masses via mechanical contraptions that make the distribution of ideas a common thing, have the capacity to chance the world. He uses a strange red hat (a Phrygian cap - Vive la revolution!)
Step 5: Describe three memories that your character has.
- Seeing, unable to help, a halfling baby die because of malnutrition and poverty. She cried for days after that. Her sister Rose got her name from that baby.
- Running from the guards, her chest about to explode from fear, after painting a red rose in a wall of the city. She escaped, and the memory has become a beacon of excitement, triumph and promise that carries her in her revolutionary endeavours.
- The hate (yes, hate) she felt when her sister Voyla received the "calling" and became a cleric of Milani, able to heal and channel the power of revolution. She tells herself her abilities are more than a match of those of her sister, and she loves her, but the pain in her heart is still there.

Insight into the character's personality:
The woman enters the room with a quick step. Everything about her is a symbol, a message, a promise, from her simple clothes (she insists - almost brags - she is not noble, but a daughter of Cheliax small merchant, and she shouldn't dress like something she isn't) to the rose brooch she proudly wears on her chest.
The first thing to catch your attention are her eyes, light brown and really focused. Almost angry. Like if she was seeing, at all times, all the injustices and pain she strives to defeat. She is somewhat short (4' 10") and fit, if not really athletic (100 lbs). Her curly brown hair falls past her shoulders in a loose way, as if refusing to bend to the will of a tyrannical comb. Her skin is pale, showing the long hours of work writing or proselytizing. And as soon as you see her write, you notice she is left handed.
She greets everyone, and after listening for a moment she asks for a chance to speak. Her voice is clear and strong. Powerful but filled with delicate emotion.
"That is not acceptable. We need to make a promise to every person, every mother, every child. To banish slavery, in every form and place of Golarion. Slavery is an Abomination. Never again a mother seeing his child sold. Never again a person losing his freedom because of her race or because he couldn't pay a loan. Or because a drought destroyed his crops. Or because his child got sick and had to pay to heal him. We need to take this promise to all the people. Starting with Cheliax."
The Red Rose. She call herself that. Bent on becoming the leader of a "Political" Party, the Freedom Party, the Rose Party, as she imagines it. Their headquarters, she imagines it, known as "the rose garden", recognized by the wonderful roses blooming in the courtyard, and the unstopping activity of its members.
Wyssal, after looking at all the people present, continues.
"I know we all have good intentions, is that is nothing unless we have the will and courage to go and change things, free our sisters and brothers, out mothers and fathers, still suffering from slavery and tyranny. Free our town. Free our souls."
The small halfling shakes, believing every word she says.
"We must act now. We are not talking about "resources" or "subjects", but families, children, old people, that right now live under the rule of tyrants, criminals and devil-worshipers. We must reach to them. Help them. Organize them. That is the message, the legacy, the hope I want to give my children. That is the city I want to be part of."
She hits her chest with a closed fist, and turns to look at each one of the other people there in turn, fire in her brown eyes.

A basic idea of where you're planning to go and how you will benefit the group:
First of all, the face. The one that talks, that make the alliances happen, that rallies the town behind them. Also the organizing one. The one that leads with the "downtime", the political and moral compass of the team. As Bard, she would give them boons, and help the others shine. Finally, help with Ranged damage. About the racial feats, I would take the ones that grant rerolls and bonus to the others (Bestow Luck).

Personality:
Focused to a fault, she is completely dedicated to the cause of freedom. She takes pride in her humble origins, and strives for a bright future of freedom and justice for all, especially halflings. She is given to grandiloquence, and a believer of action in the pursuit of social revolution.
She talks about freedom, destroying tyranny and slavery, protection to the poor, participation of all the kingdom subjects in the government and the expansion of liberty ideals as fast as possible. She talks in good terms about the Andoran government, while warning of the Galt "excesses". She also talks about lowering taxes and government "frugality" and prevent corruption and excesses in the government. She is very open in her ideas and activities, more interested in being seen than to remain hidden.

Notes and Questions:
I took the "Racial Feats" boon, and the extra trait, so a drawback is needed.
Are we going to do the "downtime" activities? In the PbP campaign where we have tried, it hasn't quite work...
Also, about the Leadership feat, will it become an option in the future?

SPECIAL ABILITIES
=================================================
Armored Casting (Ex) You can cast bard spells while wearing light armor and use a shield without incurring the normal arcane spell failure chance.

Bardic Knowledge (Ex) You add +1 to all Knowledge checks and may make all Knowledge skill checks untrained.

Bardic Performance You are trained to use the Perform skill to create magical effects on those around you, including yourself if desired. You are trained to use the Perform skill to create magical effects on those around you, including yourself if desired. You can use this ability for 8 rounds per day. Each round, you can produce any one of the types of bardic performance that you have mastered. Starting a bardic performance is a standard action, but it can be maintained each round as a free action. Changing a bardic performance from one effect to another requires the bard to stop the previous performance and start a new one as a standard action. A bardic performance cannot be disrupted, but it ends immediately if you are killed, paralyzed, stunned, knocked unconscious, or otherwise prevented from taking a free action to maintain it each round. You cannot have more than one bardic performance in effect at one time.

Bonus Feat Humans select one extra feat at 1st level.

Cantrips You have learned a number of cantrips, or 0-level spells. These spells are cast like any other spells, but they do not consume any slots and may be used again.

Charming Blessed with good looks, you've come to depend on the fact that others find you attractive. You gain a +1 trait bonus when you use Bluff or Diplomacy on a character that is (or could be) sexually attracted to you, and a +1 trait bonus to the save DC of any language-dependent spell you cast on such characters or creatures.

Countersong (Su) You can counter magic effects that depend on sound (but not spells that have verbal components). Each round of the countersong you make a Perform (keyboard, percussion, wind, string, or sing) skill check. Any creature within 30 feet (including yourself) that is affected by a sonic or language-dependent magical attack may use your Perform check result in place of its saving throw if, after the saving throw is rolled, the Perform check result proves to be higher. If a creature within range of the countersong is already under the effect of a noninstantaneous sonic or language-dependent magical attack, it gains another saving throw against the effect each round it hears the countersong, but it must use your Perform skill check result for the save. Countersong does not work on effects that don't allow saves. Countersong relies on audible components.

Distraction (Su) You can use your performance to counter magic effects that depend on sight. Each round of the distraction, make a Perform (act, comedy, dance, or oratory) skill check. Any creature within 30 feet (including yourself) that is affected by an illusion (pattern) or illusion (figment) magical attack may use your Perform check result in place of its saving throw if, after the saving throw is rolled, the Perform skill check proves to be higher. If a creature within range of the distraction is already under the effect of a noninstantaneous illusion (pattern) or illusion (figment) magical attack, it gains another saving throw against the effect each round it sees the distraction, but it must use your Perform skill check result for the save. Distraction does not work on effects that don't allow saves. Distraction relies on visual components.

Famous You may choose a region where you are famous, and within that region, the locals are more likely to react favorably toward you. You gain a +1 bonus on Bluff and Intimidate checks in that area and to influence people from that area and the region can contain up to 1000 people.

Fascinate (Su) You can use your performance to cause up to 1 creatures to become fascinated with you. Each creature to be fascinated must be within 90 feet, able to see and hear you, and capable of paying attention to you. You must also be able to see the creatures affected. The distraction of a nearby combat or other dangers prevents this ability from working. Each creature within range receives a Will save (DC 14) to negate the effect. If a creature's saving throw succeeds, you cannot attempt to fascinate that creature again for 24 hours. If its saving throw fails, the creature sits quietly and observes your performance for as long as you continue to maintain it. While fascinated, a target takes a -4 penalty on all skill checks made as reactions, such as Perception checks. Any potential threat to the target allows the target to make a new saving throw against the effect. Any obvious threat, such as someone drawing a weapon, casting a spell, or aiming a weapon at the target, automatically breaks the effect. Fascinate is an enchantment (compulsion), mind-affecting ability. Fascinate relies on audible and visual components in order to function.

Humanoid Traits (Ex) Humanoids breathe, eat, and sleep.

Inspire Courage (Su) You can use your performance to inspire courage in your allies (including yourself), bolstering them against fear and improving their combat abilities. To be affected, an ally must be able to perceive your performance. An affected ally receives a +0 morale bonus on saving throws against charm and fear effects and a +0 competence bonus on attack and weapon damage rolls. Inspire courage is a mind-affecting ability. Inspire courage can use audible or visual components. The bard must choose which component to use when starting his performance.

Reactionary You were bullied often as a child, but never quite developed an offensive response. Instead, you became adept at anticipating sudden attacks and reacting to danger quickly. You gain a +2 trait bonus on Initiative checks.

Skilled Humans gain an additional skill rank at first level and one additional rank whenever they gain a level.

+1 Bonus Feat GM awarded PC with +1 feat.

+1 Skill Rank (Linguistics, Profession (Barrister)) GM awarded PC with +1 skill rank (won't exceed max ranks).

REASONS TO PROTEST
Staying up on Current Events: Public protests are a great place to gather inspiration and information alike, more so from those who are being protested against than from the protesters themselves. You’re heading to the Aria Park protest primarily to watch people, but also to make sure you stay up to date on current events. Things have a way of happening at politically charged public gatherings, after all, and you’d kick yourself if you missed the protest and something big happened. Beyond listening for rumors, it might be an interesting opportunity for you to rabble-rouse a bit, either by making a performance or simply using diplomacy to sway or guide the crowd’s frustration and anger.
You gain a +2 bonus on all Diplomacy and Perform checks made during the protest itself.

CAMPAIGN TRAIT
Natural Born Leader: Whenever you found yourself involved in a group effort in the past, be it working with siblings to handle a family emergency, conspiring with friends to orchestrate a prank, or throwing in with coworkers to take care of an unanticipated complication at work, you tended to end up in a position of leadership. It might be unclear to you why this is the case, or you might deliberately seek out such positions, knowing you can organize any group to be something greater than the sum of its parts, but your knack for managing groups has always pushed you to the front of any operation you’ve found yourself a part of.
You excel in the role of manager. You treat your Charisma score as if it were 14 (or 2 points higher than its actual score if your actual Charisma is already 14 or higher) for the purposes of determining how many teams you can manage in the rebellion, and for the purposes of determining the bonus you add to your managed teams’ actions. In addition, you gain a +1 trait bonus to your Leadership score if you take the Leadership feat.
