Hey, if the earlier-mentioned flying siege platform gets to show up, I'm not ruling that out, either.

Kinetic bombardment from orbit is indistinguishable from high-level magic. Plus, you are trying to save the area where indiscriminatory bombardment would be most efficient so...yeah, don't get your hopes up but we'll see what works for people when we get there :P
That said, one condition will be that the character needs to be active in a campaign or have been in a game in the past. No making up a new character for this stuff, so don't go build a Orbital Siege specialist just yet :P

I am...moderately fine.
There was one talk this week regarding my future, but nothing final. And on Tuesday next week, the project go-live I mentioned earlier.
There WILL be aftercare and a smaller follow-up project(roll-out at another site), but things should calm down a bit after this.
I considered posting this week but thought it would be half-hearted to push forward when right this week, I am quite limited with time and mentally tired after work.(I do GM updates from home, where I have my stuff and can get into the game mindset longer).

But I am ok, and definitely going ahead as soon as possible, with a more steady pace again, and avoiding the pitfalls of too much freeform while providing options :)

Regarding that dreaded go-live that I basically worked for 12+ hours a day in the past 2 weeks: 14-hour workday so far, another 1-2 hours left, but things look good so far. Most of the stuff I am responsible for seems to be working. Some more things need to be taken care of tomorrow but I'm confident I'll have some spare time in the evening after all that!
I'll get us on track with a small update then while on the train back home. Should probably have called the 2-week break before but it was the first time in this job I had a project of this magnitude. I'm learning better "estimation of time needed"-skills there, too.

We had an appointment for prenatal diagnostic testing today(organ screening) - everythings looks good and healthy - and this time was the first time gender was determinable: I'll be having another baby daughter in January ^_^
(Also, I get to transfer some of the vacation days I could not take this year so I'll get to stay at home for about a month, then! Yay for bonding and some extra time to spend with the big sister so she doesn't feel too neglected :) )

Hehe, different reason, but yeah.

First daughter is now mostly sleeping through - which means that in the evening, I get to e.g. watch a movie with my SO, or play some video games(my Steam backlog is...too big :( ...)
Either way, that works because I can be pretty confident that she won't randomly wake, and if so, can be returned to sleep in a matter of minutes.
And, of course, if work allows.(that project go-live was intensely stressful)

But when the new baby girl is here, if the first one is any indication, I won't have much time to watch movies or play games, since I'll need to be available and then spend more time with her to calm her down again.
So, I'll likely end up spending at least as much time in pbp as now, because other options to spend 'free' time become non-options. So, yeah, I don't really expect an impact on my online-RPGing.
(Except during the first week, I'll probably take that time off, spending most of my waking hours either in the hospital and/or taking care of my first daughter)

Been on an unexpected family trip over the weekend(opportunity thing when relatives could not go for reasons and asked us) - been catching up with work and games yesterday and today, will update tomorrow(~in about 10-12 hours, after sleep).
Sorry for going missing without notice, but this time, it was all "for me" and a awesome time with my little one and SO, no work stuff - so 'Non, je ne regrette rien.'

Na, in summary, I suppose I earned some noodly flogging over time.
Especially for giving late notice so often :P This time is no exception, but then, I didn't get to notify any of my games this time around.

But it's so easy to think: oh, it's just 3 days. Oh, whats one more day. Oh, tomorrow I'll have time certainly. And before you know it, it's move than a week :P
Also, will use my lunchbreak in a little bit to get started on the updating - in an continued attempt to avoid the noodles.

Aye, I've been slow all week with updating games and writing...I am currently on vacation, which paradoxically means I am expected to spend all the more time with the kid and SO, cutting heavily into the amount of spare time I have for activities not involving them.
Thats some high-level complaining there(well not really) but I kind of had assumed to have a bit more time for myself/relaxation(which involves posting on paizo). I'll make sure to update within 24 hours - (I already started with a few games today where I could post quickly(courtesy of an action coming to mind naturally and no time needed to think/consider)...only managed less than half of them)...

Hm.
That WOULD be relaxing. :)
I absolutely adore my daughter...but when I am home, I have to be with her ALL the time...I need to play with her, I need to read with her, I even need to sit next to her while she eats(a lenghty affair, that one). Then after she goes to bed, SO also wants some time together.

It's the first 'stay-home' vacation since she's here...wanted to get some stuff done (home maintainance/improvement) and relax. But now I know that does not really work. Going someplace(or to grandparents) is simpler because you either have someone else looking after her or expect to be looking after her full-time.

But it's like, my SO can't even fill in...if I am home, it has to be me doing everything. All I could do is hide in my room for some relaxation so she thinks I'm at work, but I can't bring myself to do that - but as said, not forgotten, and I do, indeed, have some time in the evenings to myself after SO went to bed.

But I often didn't feel particularily 'writy' then. Guilty as charged :P I expected to have more time(which I did not) and used what little time I had to enjoy some things from my Steam backlog. But I adapted - I think I got a post in most games now, and will set aside some evening time to do so for the remainder of the holiday...maybe not every game gets a daily update, but a 2-3 day cycle should be possible.
I'll need to get that sorted out anyway - I did quite some posting from work, but after my holiday, I'm going to be training 3 new people, who'll be with me all the time looking at what I'm doing - so I'll need to do my posting exclusively from home for the forseeable future :)

(Bleh, and I think I wrote all that as a compensation for not posting earlier in gameplay :P)

@Silence - I think it was mentioned that it was assumed to be up. But yeah, talking about who it was actually on might have been useful :P

Lily is as good as anyone I guess but if it is possible I think the spell can target a pebble or something she carries? It would come in handy if we needed the silence to travel quickly or go somewhere we don't want to go : )

@Standard action charge - Mm I considered that. But I figured flanking might be handier if the battle dragged on. Though it doesn't seem like it matters either way : )

@Third Item - I'm fairly sure there was a third thing I brought up when I wrote this post this morning, but I can't remember what it was anymore. Maybe later?

Lily is a poor target for silence as she needs somatic components.

A dagger or quarrel is ideal, however.

It would allow us to attack with the silence spell.

Hm. I assumed it to be on Lily since it's on her spell list. I omitted the caster level check, now that I checked, but the chance of that going awry and the wisdom check leading to a mishap were miniscule.

Either way, when I said 'active on Lily' it was not necessarily meant that she herself is the target...only that however you targeted it, the target was still in her possession.
With the spell only lasting rounds/level and the diversion mostly only covering making your way over to the other roof, there was some urgency - so I assumed you'd not stop to hand over any items it was cast on and quickly move to eliminate them before someone took note.

By all means, pick a different target.
Then again, Miranda and Varuzhan seem to have made short work of the remaining guy, so actually, that may be moot.

@Saffron: Yeap, for example - there's a good number of spices that would be significantly more expensive if not for efficient and cheap logistics and conservation techniques. ;)

@Paranoia: I usually encourage paranoia...but it's just spices. People might ask where you got them, but then, blackmarket fences usually don't ask that kind of question. You might just not get the full profit margin. That said, keeping it around for morale and sharing some with Laria is definitely an option :)

Luckily the spell is on Miranda's list (both of them!) so she would only need a Caster Level check. Should we go for it?

It just so happens that the creator(and Laria's contact) is a Bard, so yep, it's arcane.(Which is not saying much, but I had a Inquisitor who was quite happy he had it on the list).
Either way, yep, Caster level Check suffices.
