I want to apologize for my absence I came down with some hellish virus thing and was hospitalized on Monday. I was recently released and am trying to get back on my feet. I hope to have updates to all my games by tonight or tomorrow morning by the latest.

I am all late but I am here, I apologize for the absence, just tumbling thoughts running through my head, life, thats all.
Megan, Really sorry to hear about the accident and glad you are ok.
Bot me if I am ever gone more then a few days, just caught up, sorry.

For those that don't know.... the bit with the cups of water is lifted from the anime Hunter X Hunter. I saw it months ago and was like, "That's really cool! Hope I get to use it some day in one of my games."
I really didn't expect the post to be as long as it turned out. Having to track down the moment they first met wasn't exactly an easy task, given how many posts have been written between that time and this one. But I like to think little moments like that, when referred to, can ground the game for players in a way like no other, as serves to remind them that interactions matter.
Now if i could just remember the name of the lady monk that Lothar is supposed to introduce Seth to.... Oh, yes! Now I remember.
Saji... is she actually present in the tent? Because if she is then it's about to get very interesting up in this piece. ;)

Amazing post there Lothar, and I agree with Megan, summoning monsters in a mess-tent? Not your typical day I'd have to say.

I have updated her profile picture as it gives a more goth drow appearance resembling her a little more.

Did everyone go on a vacation and didn't tell me? Lol it's been quite.

I still sort of defer to the original folks in the thread and there hasn't been a strong narrative push from the GM side...so...I'm not really sure? lol

I've been buried with the end of the semester, so I've been quiet. I suspect our GM is similarly busy as if memory serves, she is teaching once again.
Hopefully she will have time to move us forward when things settle down for her - she has not been moving us very far very fast for a long time.
Megan, if that's unfair, maybe our expectations are out of sync. Let us know if you are expecting something else from us as players.

High time I got back to you all!
Been very busy... 50th anniversary of my university being a university celebrations, then catching up on the work that didn't get done preparing for it, plus TWO posters for the grand opening of Aston STEM Education Centre and a talk to the Computer Education Research group... coupled with minor personal incidents including some swine knocking the wing mirror off of my car, a dead router, another swine hacking RPG Resource and getting a parking ticket for parking in a disabled bay (which I am entitled to do as I have - and display - a disabled tag!). Oh, and I had to move office on account of they are rebuilding the Computer Science floor (which means come the end of September I hopefully move again into a posh new office of my own!).
Hopefully the dust has now settled. Now, where were we?
Noriel Dregon |
OMG, Megan you have had your hands full. If it isn't one thing it is another, I know that feeling. I really do hope that everything will work out and things ease up for you. I'm sure everyone agrees, We miss you :) But life is more important then gaming especially with a plate that full like yours.
Welcome back ^_^

My apologies for not being as much of a presence as I would like. I've had some serious issues crop up that need more of my attention in RL. I can't go into it at the moment, but rest assured I haven't been ignoring what's happening here on the forums.
As soon as I'm able, I'll begin posting as often as I can.

I will be traveling next week, but expect to have access to post in the evenings. A little jaunt to try new cycling trails that have been built on retired railbeds. Primary concern right now is the storms that seem to be a nightly occurrence in that part of the country.

Excuse me for being quiet the past few days, the 'virtual learning environment' on which I run a distance undergraduate course had a bit of a meltdown, due to some yahoo in admin not realising that my courses run April-September rather than in the regular university terms and did the year-end update, throwing my poor darlings off when they a) had coursework to submit and b) were revising for their exams! All now sorted... and I'm knackered!

I'll give Barnabus until the 12th (Monday) to respond, otherwise we'll just have to move on without him. We've had way too much slow-down on this. Time to pick up the pace and get the ball rolling again.
I've enjoyed this pbp and want to see it play out fully. So we can't just take it for granted anymore (myself included).
Lothar Narda |
It's not so much a question of my plans, really. Because my plan is basically to get things as close as possible to how they were before. All of us players have to do our part (I'm one of those that believes the GM/DM is a player too).
I understand that RL makes things difficult and it can be hard to post. I get it. Between work and home, I find it really difficult to muster the energy most times to come up with something. And though our individual situations are different, it comes down to the same thing more often than not.
This isn't a power play on my part. Truth be told, I hate the thought of leading a group. The sheer weight of the responsibility fills me with dread. It wasn't an issue when we started. Gorguk's player more than filled that role. And I miss him greatly. As much as I do Calinder's player as well.
But, if it's not a question of leadership (or the lack of it), then what is the problem? Because I want to enjoy the pbp like I used to. But maybe someone has a different take on things, something I haven't noticed. If so, now's a good time to put it out there.
Rhasadilara Goldenbough |
Rhasadilara is a reluctant leader, but she will try to lead if she must. I don't think that's the problem.
I think the problem today is the same problem it was when I had to talk Gorguk into staying (did that happen twice?) and ultimately when he left. I don't know why Calindar left - I don't remember him saying anything.
I agree, something needs to be fixed because this was an awesome game that I looked forward to. It hasn't been that for a while.

I have embarked on my annual autumn excursion to Someplace Else(TM) and so my availability and access may not be what they generally are. It looks like I should be able to post in the evenings, but can make no guarantees, so please feel free to bot Rhasa as necessary.
I should be able to resume normal activity after the 17th.
Jirani Shores |
If it was merely an issue of personalities in the group leading to a more natural leading I can hasten that as far as Jirani is concerned. Though I am having some problems in my life logistically this month, things are smoothing out so I can continue to help prod us along.
My primary concern is that at times I think we are waiting for GM response? Or we are waiting for her to chime in in a way that I don;t have a good read on because Im not sure what the dynamic was before? I would be curious what Megan might think is playing a role in the slow burn on the game and if she has been waiting on us in some regard? :P

Big death in my family. I will be back by the end of the week. Apologies.
