My friends and I were sent on a mission by His Eminence Cardinal Borgia to put an end to a group of devil worshippers who had dared to attack a holy bishop on the grounds of St. Peter's. Ancient texts lead us to believe that they were centered in the catacombs in Rome. We went to investigate, found some skeletons and then the bug man he says as he points to the bugman.

Nacht had completely remembered how the language of that other being , the excited one was and spoke, this time.. much less broken.

A cacophony of fast paced clicks comes from Nacht.

" Soshite, anata no gengo ga watashi no kuchi no naka de haruka ni yoi nagaremasu. Watashi wa, sore ga iwa rete iru ka o oboete iru to omou. Watashi wa hoka no ningen no supīchi ni kore o konomu. "

Nacht simply nods to this being and to the other being, the oe who spoke German.

Those who speak Japanese:
" And your language flows much better in my mouth. I think I remember how it is said. I prefer this to the other being's speech. "

And lastly an hispanic looking youth comes through the portal/altar, seeming quite baffled at the sudden transition from one catacomb to the next.

Latin:
"Well I'll be... This is somewhat unexpected. Who are all you people and where are we exactly?"

Jimeno looks somewhat flustered and suddenly remembers something.

"Equo, id est adhuc Roma."

I've been translator so far, as much as I can. As a Player I like Languages (and as DM I'm very strict on Languages) -- I almost always make PCs with several languages. Iommi-Tyr Magnusson will continue to learn languages in addition to his gross Knowledge Skills.

English, then German, French & Latin, Iommi-Tyr Magnusson translates the various questions & comments of the new heroes coming from underneath Rome:
I feel we should briefly return to Notre Dame above us, reconnect with Father Renaud the Cleric, and get our bearings before going further.

Nacht shakes his head in disagreement. For one he had no stake above ground as he would be deemed different. If the weak being had attacked him before what was too stop a strong one? That and the Necromancer had always been an issue with Nacht, that and some unbridled hate stewed within him every time the title was mentioned. If they left he would stay to hunt the man himself. He would need the accomplishment to even attempt to grace this outside world.

Nacht seemed to point in a direction he determined is North and spoke " Sore wa kitadesu. Watashi wa nekuromansā o koroshi tama de, watashi wa futatabi chōjō tsumori wa arimasen. Watashi wa ushinawa reta to wa naranai. Watashi wa futatabi kōgeki sa reru yō ni s#&*ai ot nodesu ka, watashi wa sō suru ningen o korosu koto ga arimasu. "

Nacht thinks remembering the language his just spoke was likely only known by the one from before and slowed his pitch and voice to the other language.

" Ce est du Nord. Je ne vais pas au sommet de nouveau jusqu'à ce que je ai tué le Nécromancien . Je ne deviens pas perdu . Je ne veux ot d'être attaqués à nouveau ou je peux tuer l'être qui le fait. "

Those who speak Either:
" That is North. I am not going atop again until I have killed the Necromancer. I do not become lost. I do ot want to be attacked again or I may kill the being who does so. "

Even as he fades into the gloom of his surroundings, the Beetle Man's superhuman senses form a mental model of the stairs and ossuary in his brain: a 40-ft-square vaulted ossuary, ceiling soaring to an apex of 60 ft, walls and vaulted ceiling engraved with relief images of angelic and more earthly forms--birds, beasts, men, women, and children, all presided over by a giant, skeletal, hooded and cloaked Reaper with great scythe in swing.... The floor is littered with the skulls, bones, rib cages, and pelvises of thousands of long-dead humans....

6 ghoulish figures sway and chant in the darkness, their hollow eye sockets burning with sparks of unholy fire!

Right! Sorry.... Father Renaud is a well-regarded and faithful old priest of Notre Dame, born in Paris and raised as an orphan by the church. He is known for charitable acts such as adopting stray cats and dogs, feeding street urchins, and healing the sick, even if they are too poor to afford the church's standard spell casting tithes. He is also known to be somewhat more fond of wine and young women than is becoming of a priest....
