Well well this could be vary useful. My parents told me about something like this.He will hand it back to Leira. Oblivious to her blushing (typical guy) he will try looking over the spheres.
spell craft: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (10) + 6 = 16
K. Arcana: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (4) + 9 = 13
But they sure didn't tell me about anything like those.

Anga Runedaughter |

let me have a wee lookie
Anga casts detect magic and examines it
spellcraft: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (5) + 13 = 18

Leira |

Leira takes back the sapling rod impressed at all Kaos knows about it "That is... impressive. Perhaps you dwarves should have a look at these spheres. I think they might be something great. Evocation magic"

Anga Runedaughter |

Anga shifts her attention to the spheres
spellcraft: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (4) + 13 = 17
oh lord of random dice generation, why hast thou forsaken me. :)
they are...magic rocks. Argh, ah dinna know

Haskyll Stonereaver |

Artifact hunter, 56%
Haskyll looks over the rocks as well
spell: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (9) + 12 = 21
I think that Ulfgard would be the best to carry and use that rod as well.

Haskyll Stonereaver |

I think so. After all, it will give us time to puzzle over these rocks and what they might be for.

GM Mazra |

Leira will wade through the puddle to the other door. She will find no trap on the door.
(Used previous rolled checks.)
When the party enters the room they will note that the ceiling of this room remains whole. Dark mildew and splattered patterns of black mold cover all surfaces except the floor, which hides beneath a layer of stagnant brownish sludge.
Neatly stacked in the northeast corner of the room are six round stones.
The party will realize that these six stones, and the three black stones appear to have the characteristics of geodes.

![]() |

Maybe we could use Urgamash and try to crack one of them open?
Kaos will cast detect magic.
perception: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (20) + 6 = 26
If magic
Spell craft: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (16) + 6 = 22

Haskyll Stonereaver |

I for one, don't think that cracking them will be of any use.
Haskyll casts detect magic, and then looks hard at the little geodes.
percep: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (19) + 12 = 31 +2 vs stonework

GM Mazra |

Kaos will happen to notice covered in sludge is a large stone coffer. The coffer is locked.
Haskyll will determine that unlike the three black geodes, these dark gray ones are manufactured and not naturally formed. They have a rind-like exterior, and weigh about 1000 pounds each, (about 454 kg). Haskyll will not notice any evocation auras like the three black geodes. But he will sense a slight magic field, possibly from within the dark gray geodes.

Haskyll Stonereaver |

I not be liking the I cannot determine what these rocks are for. Any Ideas Anga?
Haskyll looks puzzled as he looks over at Anga and then describes the Geodes and the auras he found.
Edit
Wait, this temple was devoted to the Giant god of steel, I wonder what will happen
He then takes his steel dagger and places it on the nearest of the large geodes

Droja |

Droja will ponder the situation. She reaches for a sack and pulls out a couple of small bones that look like they are from a humanoid's hand. She lays them on the dark gray stone and calls out, "If we try to open these geodes will they bring weal or woe?" The hand bones turn to dust.
A sinking feeling will fall upon Droja. She turns and looks at the party, "Leaves these stone be. They will bring nothing but woe."

Leira |

Leira nods to Kaos "I'm on it!" and produces her tools to work in the coffer. She checks for traps on it before, and nevertheless she works from afar using her legerdemain knowledge. The tools fly in the air with her mage hand while she attempts to unlock the coffer for Kaos.
Perception (+1 vs traps): 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (9) + 14 = 23
Disable device (unlock): 1d20 + 24 ⇒ (18) + 24 = 42
Disable device (unlock; take 20): 20 + 24 = 44
She observes impressed at Droja "Uou! How did you know about that?" she observes the geodes "We found some kind of geode before. It was something like a map. Might they be some parts of the map as well? Can we just try to join the parts? Let's try to approach our geode"

![]() |

Kaos goes to look in the bag.
If you say we should leave it alone let's leave it alone. Does that go for the big one and the little ones or just one of them?

![]() |

Kaos with detect magic will inspect the box and bag closely.
perception: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (4) + 6 = 10
Why is this bag so heavy?

Leira |

"So weird bag" observes Leira while check the coffer for hidden spaces.
Perception: 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (2) + 14 = 16
She then helps Kaos study the bag with detect magic.
Spellcraft (identify): 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (1) + 10 = 11
"No one really has any idea about the geodes... well..." the girl looks around the temple "I guess we can make a pause to have lunch here, then continue our way south searching for that damned giant Cathedral"

![]() |

Is there another floor. I see steps on the map?
So Droja what kind of feeling do you get from the other big rocks?
Do you think these small ones could be bombs?
While making his ideal thoughts Kaos will try throwing a couple of rocks into the bag and if nothing happens after a moment or two he will try totake them back out.

GM Mazra |

Kaos and Leira both will not be able to determine the exact properties of the large sack. The sack is four feet by six feet and made of thick leather.
Kaos is able to retrieve the rocks he put in the sack.
Leira will not find any compartments of other interesting things in this room.
A 24 Spellcraft check is needed to discern the full characteristics of this extremely large sack.

Droja |

Droja will look at Kaos and say simply, "OK." When asked about the geodes being bombs, Droja will say, "Maybe. I do not know what woe these geodes will bring."
She will leave the current room and head through the secret door to where the 750 pound (340kg) geodes lie.
Again, she reaches for a bag tucked under her robes. The bag rattles with its contents. She pulls two more phalanges from the bag and places them on one of the black geodes. "Will these black geodes bring us weal or woe," she says in an emotionless tone.
"I am getting nothing. Like I said, sometimes it does not work." Droja says this with a bit of sadness leading to despair.

![]() |

That's okay Drojs. Magic can be fickle some times. Don't let it get you down.
Ulfgard your right some mages do have a special spell for that but unfortunately I do not.

Leira |

"I think that is all in this place. Whatever does things are, they are beyond our knowledge" Leira shrugs as any response to Kaos "Let's move on"
The girl brings some stuff to have lunch, then undoes camp "Let's explore the southern paths"

Droja |

"I am not good at this, but I will take a look at that big sack," she shrugs while casting Detect Magic.
Spellcraft: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (16) + 8 = 24
"Imagine that! This is a massive Bag of Holding.
Type V Bag of Holding CL9; Moderate Conjuration; Bag Weight 100lbs; Content Limits 2,500lbs; 450 Cubic Feet, Value 12,500gp
"Clearly this was designed for something massive to go inside it. I wonder what that could be?"

Haskyll Stonereaver |

Well, I don't know, but I think we can tie it to the mules saddle, and store a lot of stuff now.
He then looks at Ulgard
I could, but I was not granted the spells this morning by Torag as well.
He then looks towards the others.
Shall we tie it off, then carry on, as I have no idea on the Geodes.

Anga Runedaughter |

Put the things in tha bag, then. We can study them as we travel
Sorry, been some storms here, has slowed my posting

![]() |

So why was an empty bag locked away?
Kaos takes the bag and reaches in commanding the bag to give him anything that may be in it.

Haskyll Stonereaver |

Haskyll looks at Kaos.
I doubt there is anything in it Laddie, but a bag like that is treasure enough.
As for the massive thing to fit in the bag, I don't think we can fit those big three Geodes in there. But Djora, do you think that there will be woe if we break the big ones down ?
Haskyll looks at the big geodes trying to figure out how to break them down.
The 6 are 1000 lbs apiece, the 3 are 500 lbs apiece ??

Anga Runedaughter |

Just for clarity, which things? There are three black geodes, and six larger dark gray geodes. Droja felt the six geodes would bring woe, so I assume you are referring to the other three?
all of them
ah cannae see stones being a problem in a dimensional pocket like a bag of holding. Besides, no offense droja, ah think ah would a like a bit more than a bad feeling ta leave these behind. We should take them all
Anga the diplomat at work :/

Leira |

Leira looks at the dwarves with curiosity while she eats a piece of meat What's on with these people, I do not catch the thing about this bag and geodes thingy.
"Give a dwarf a couple stones and sit to rest while they get crazy trying to study them" the young girl smiles while she eats another piece of meat, starts choking, coughs, then follows up with another piece.

![]() |

Do you think the big ones and the little one where kept apart for a reason? Oh well I say we take the bag, I have been in need of a good new pack, and leave the rocks. If we need them we know where they are.
With that Kaos will sit next to Leira and start munching on an apple.

Haskyll Stonereaver |

Kaos, not sure if I can ask quite yet. Just give me a bit of time to think and puzzle, while I inquire with the Maker.
Not at home, no access to books, trying to remember what level certain spells are. will post later when I remember.
