Umm,sirs, If you have a boat could we come. I don't want my family to die.

"I do not make the decision here but I could plead your case. Also a magic shop?" pausing a moment as the burly man ponders.
"My friends, we should search the remains of this city. We may find loot or other useful items that may have survived this terrible scorching. Any thing might help. Who knows what's still standing."

"You've got my vote, mate." Hiiram says with a grin. "Think they should just hide here 'til we're done?" he asks, gesturing to the man and his family.

Looking bored at the interplay between the commoner and his companions, Alfred perks up at the mention of a magic shop. "Aye, let's loot the place. Now, where's that magic shop?"

Soral nods thoughtfully, You've been helpful thus far, I'll put in a word for you.
It is maybe 10 minutes from here. near the barracks.

Olaf starts heading in that direction, intent on going to the barracks after the shop. " You can come with us or stay here. We'll come back for you after we've checked for 'survivors' " Olaf says with a grin.
The grin is about the survivors comment, meaning surviving loot. No reason to leave these people.
Male Human Fighter 3, AC 23/12/21, HP 33, Saves 7/3/4*
Alfred will continue and keep up with Olaf.

J'Larky also hurries to the Magic shop, already thinking about the goodies he might find there.
The man nods gratefully, and he brings his family along with you.
The magic shop is in pristine condition, and doesn't look like it was touched. However inside you see that the costumers, and shop keeper have been turned to stone.
Potions, scroll, and other items line the walls, and all apear to be intact.

Hiiram does the same, his attention torn between several magically-infused items at a time. 'Such a wonderful place! Great Nethys, surely once I grow too infirm to travel, opening a shop like this should be a proper way to venerate you,' the tiefling thinks to himself, grinning all the while.

Surely this must be a trap. Why would anyone kill everyone and not take the good stuff. Olaf draws his blade and starts to help look around. He requests others examine this um, casterfolk, can you see if anyone is pulling the wool over our eyes, this doesn't feel right to me.

You all see many belts a few weapons and some potions with no labels.
no one detects any magic aside from the gear.

"This is it?? Well, these things are magic." Alfred points them out.
"We might as well take what we can."
Alfred will take some of the unlabeled potions and a couple of belts. preferring to take magic belts, if possible. Which "gear" is magic?

It'd take 3 rounds per item to attempt to ID them, via spellcraft checks, DC 15+CL if you wanted to do that with detect magic on the weapons and belts.

Hiiram shrugs before he decides to help gather things. "Ain't nobody around t' buy or sell this stuff anymore, anyways," he rationalizes.
About everything that is not the building and a few vials of water are non magic. Alfred there are 20 total belts, and at least 30 potions. There are a few necklaces and rings (7 of each), 3 spears, a long sword, a greatsword, and 2 axes

Woah, that is quite the haul for level 4 PCs :). I'd happily use any magic weapons (sword), statboosting belt (any noncursed one really, con or strength would be great), the ring of regeneration or protection, any of the amulets, but especially the natural armor ones
Yes. But remember the more powerful you are, the more dangerous the enemy. And trust me everything, you will need.

I'd love a belt of dex, or barring that an amulet of nat. armor, but I'm sure that both of those are going to be in pretty high demand. We'll have to see what everyone wants and figure it out from there.
What I gave u will be needed based on the party and the adventure. And its a lot, but its approximate level for you guys.

"We should simply take everything with use, move any surviors back and then we divided up these items?" pushing it out to his surviving companions.

Olaf hurriedly throws on one of the belts, a ring, an amulet and grabs the largest sword he can get his hands on. "Lets go check the armory for more 'survivors' and then we can get out of here"

Hiiram cautiously pokes one of the empty pieces of armor with his boot, before moving to check the chest.
The book is locked with what appears to be a silver clasp. It is old, and the cover is full of runes.
Hiiram The chest looks like a normal chest. It is missing a lock, though has a fine layer of what you know is dust.

He will detect magic on it.

Alfred the key, you believe is in your mind.
The chest still lays untouched.

Alfred thinks to himself, Imagine a key. A key that opens the clasp. A metaphorical key, if you will. Imagine the clasp unlocking. Imagine the book opening
The lock on the book disperses. As does the chest, though many items lay were the chest was, first a feather, a harp, a dagger, and a obsidian skull.

At the appearance of the various items, and the opening of the lock on the book, Alfred says, "Oooh, can someone check to see if these items are magical in nature?" Then, he will open the book to see what is inside.
