Ruza Furskin |

woulf have sworn that I pressed post.... In Pathfinder, the only penalty on ranged combat for firing into melee is a -4 if they are close (in the next square) other than that, there is no accidentally hitting the wrong person.
Ruza still can't see to use her more powerful spells, so she concentrates and stares into space, while waiting to see if she can see.
concentration: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (16) + 5 = 21
using a swift action to activate my Hypnotic Stare which has no saving throw.

Kaziya Hellfallen |

Kaziya, blind, desperately rubs at her eyes in an attempt to regain her sight.
"I'd appreciate a warning if that awful thing is about to eat me."
She follows with a string of curses as her sight fails to return.
"Also, if that thing does eat me, I am going to haunt all of you. Forever."
More cursing.

Dr. Mystiel Sange |

Oh oops! I didn't realise the beastie had taken its turn.
Myst reloads his sling and fires at the creature again.
attack roll: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (14) + 6 = 20
damage roll: 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3

Rhea Stardust |

No skip, just another super busy project week at work:(
hammer: 1d20 + 0 ⇒ (19) + 0 = 19 for 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4 Gotcha, squirt!

Rogar Hammersmith |

Rogar replies to Kaziya. Don't worry lass. If 'e wants to eat anyone, he'll have t' eat me first, and I fully intend on givin' him indigestion
Rogar looks around to see if he can get into position to bull rush the creature into the water, hoping to stop it blinding everyone. Failing to spot an adequate position he just smacks it as harad as he can with his hammer.
power attack: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (8) + 4 = 12
damage: 2d6 + 9 ⇒ (6, 5) + 9 = 20
Missing again, he turns to Rhea. Step t'the side lass. Ah've got an idea.

Matt Adams 259 |

Mystiel's sling bullet manages to connect. Despite flinching, the beast neither growls nor whimpers in pain. However, using the distraction Rhea is able to connect with a clean shot. But Rogar's hammer swing was a bit too slow to catch the rapidly recovering creature.
Blinding light continues to spill from its eyes.
Rogar Fortitude: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (2) + 3 = 5
Mystiel Fortitude: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (12) + 3 = 15
Rhea Fortitude: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (6) + 4 = 10
Being in such close proximity to the light source, Rogar and Rhea finally succumb to the same blindness that plagues Kaziya and Ruza. Mystiel continues to be able to handle the blinding light. The creature continues to attack Rhea.
Bite: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (7) + 5 = 12
Claw: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (17) + 5 = 22
Claw: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (13) + 5 = 18
Damage: 2d3 + 2 ⇒ (2, 2) + 2 = 6
It's claws tear through the pant leg of her armor.
Everyone go!

Ruza Furskin |

Ruza will increase the intensity of her blank stare at the creature. Now when someone attacks it and deals damage, they deal one extra damage. Free action, Painful Stare.
Ruza will draw her weapon and attack anything that touches her without announcing itself first. Readied action.

Rhea Stardust |

Rhea swings wildly blind -4: 1d20 - 4 ⇒ (2) - 4 = -2 50% concealment: 1d100 ⇒ 86 I can't see a thing!

Rhea Stardust |

Hm good question. Do think you take both? Isn't an attack roll a "str or dex based activity?"

Ruza Furskin |

You take penalties on skill checks, AC and a 50% miss chance. Other than that nothing else.

Rhea Stardust |

Fair enough!

Dr. Mystiel Sange |

Somehow I don't think that will make a difference in Rhea's latest attack.
Seeing that the rest of the party has been blinded, Myst abandons the party to be eaten whilst he escapes to the surface.
Myst draws his sling and fires another bullet at the frog.
attack roll: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (18) + 6 = 24
damage roll: 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5

Rogar Hammersmith |

AAARGH. I CANNAE SEE A THING!
Rogar shouts in panic as he waves his hammer wildly in the direction he remembers the thing being in.
power attack: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (3) + 4 = 7
miss chance: 1d100 ⇒ 29
damage: 2d6 + 9 ⇒ (4, 3) + 9 = 16
At this rate I'd be better off trying to talk it to death...

Matt Adams 259 |

Rogar's flailing only hits empty air.
Mystiel Fortitude: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (6) + 3 = 9
Mystiel is finally blinded by the creature's light. Meanwhile, it continues to assault Rhea.
Bite: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (12) + 5 = 17
Claw: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (1) + 5 = 6
Claw: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (20) + 5 = 25
Claw Crit: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (3) + 5 = 8
Damage: 1d4 + 1d3 + 2 ⇒ (1) + (2) + 2 = 5
Rhea falls unconscious from blood loss.

Ruza Furskin |

Ruza cries out, "can anyone still see?"
Upon getting a yes answer, Ruza will try to move to her ally and use a trick to protect them from harmful bright light. a class feature that I can implant tricks... Just now figured it out.... Wish I would have seen it a few rounds ago... It might be able to end the effect.
If no one can see, she'll use it upon herself to protect her from the light.

Rogar Hammersmith |

Hearing Rhea go down, Rogar continues his efforts.
Why don't ye pick on someone yer own size?! he roars, still thrashing about with the hammer.
power attack: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (18) + 4 = 22
miss chance: 1d100 ⇒ 42
damage: 2d6 + 9 ⇒ (5, 4) + 9 = 18

Rogar Hammersmith |

Nope. We're all blind. I think the only thing we can do is keep swinging wildly until it dies. Though I'm not sure how we'd know if it had...

Rhea Stardust |

Haha, tpk in first dungeon...

Dr. Mystiel Sange |

Seeing that the rest of the party has been blinded, Myst abandons the party to be eaten whilst he escapes to the surface.Myst draws his sling and fires another bullet at the frog.
[dice=attack roll]1d20+6
[dice=damage roll]1d4+1
Maybe I should not have scratched that line out after all.. XD

Rogar Hammersmith |

It can't have many HP left. We should be able to beat it by being relentless... Unless it has other plans and/or friends.

Ruza Furskin |

we will fight until the last one of us has died. Or the frog thing has. Can I change my trick from blocking it this turn to reflecting it back?

Rogar Hammersmith |

Myst - I think we decided against that. The worst you can do is miss, you can't hit us. And I think you've done the bulk of the damage so far!

Dr. Mystiel Sange |

I've only hit it with two out of three shots at it.
Looks like we've dealt 12 points total. Hopefully it's near to falling...
What we really need is for you to get lucky with that axe!
Myst curses as his eyes fail to adjust to the surge of light. He desperately tries to calm himself and recall where he last saw the creature, and pelts another sling bullet in that direction.
attack roll: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (14) + 6 = 20
damge roll: 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3
miss chance: 1d100 ⇒ 59

Rhea Stardust |

Get me concious and I'll channel to keep everyone alive!

Kaziya Hellfallen |

The real problem with being blind is having to guess the square you are targeting. Kaziya is holding an attack action for anything that attacks her, that might not be a bad idea for everyone else. We still have the 50% miss chance, and the strategy requires getting attacked to work, but I can't think of much else.

Matt Adams 259 |

The creature charges past Rogar to attack Mystiel.
Rogar AOO: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (1) + 4 = 5
Rogar flails wildly, trying to catch it as the beast charges past.
Ruza, I don't think that Reflection of Weakness would work since it's not a condition that's on the list of conditions the ability works on.
Bite: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (19) + 7 = 26
Damage: 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5
Mystiel feels a set of fangs latch onto his sling arm.

Dr. Mystiel Sange |

I was just going to go with the square I last saw it in. For now at least. Once it moves I'm in a little more trouble...
Nevermind, I'm in trouble right now.
"It's over here!" Myst yells as he reaches for his last resort - a sharpened wooden stake tucked into his belt - and stabs at the creature latched onto his arm.
attack roll: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (20) + 1 = 21
damage roll: 1d4 ⇒ 1
confirmation roll: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (16) + 1 = 17
crit damage roll: 1d4 ⇒ 4
miss chance: 1d100 ⇒ 61
A good time for a natural 20! Add 2 more damage if I'm still getting the benefit of Ruza's painful stare.

Rhea Stardust |

Fortsies
1d20 + 4 ⇒ (13) + 4 = 17
1d20 + 4 ⇒ (14) + 4 = 18
1d20 + 4 ⇒ (16) + 4 = 20

Dr. Mystiel Sange |

Myst heaves a sigh of relief as he feels the monster stop moving.
"Well, I think I killed it, somehow. Moral of the story, always carry a pointy stick."
I assume we wait for the blindness to pass?

Rogar Hammersmith |

Ah. Pointy sticks. Tha's where I'm going wrong.
Rogar feels around in the general direction he expects Rhea to be in. Finding her, he puts his ear to her face and listens for a second.
I'm alive. Rhea's out cold, but she's breathin'... Any idea how we bring her round without... well, without our cleric?

Dr. Mystiel Sange |

Myst sighs.
"If I could see, I could try to treat some of her wounds, but that depends on how long it takes us to regain our sight. We also need to remember that we need to return to the surface before the water-breathing spell wears off, so we can't wait around for too long..."
GM, did my heal check manage to reveal how long we will be blinded for?

Dr. Mystiel Sange |

If Kaziya and I can aid each other in using the 'treat deadly wounds' application of the heal skill, we can bring Rhea to 0hp and she can channel. We need to score a 20 with a -2 due to not having a healer's kit, but it's doable.
"Even without the proper tools, we should be able to bring her back to consciousness at least. I saw the extent of her wounds when she was knocked unconscious. It looked bad, but not so severe that we can't bring her to a state where she can call on her deity to handle the rest."
"But first we'll need to be able to see. I propose we wait here till our vision clears. If nothing else, wandering about whilst we're all blinded is far too dangerous. Once we regain our vision, Kaziya and I will see about resuscitating Rhea. Then we'll see about what to do next."

Ruza Furskin |

Ruza nods and then remembers that no one can see her. "I have to agree. We need to deal with this problem first, then worry about returning after we have completed our mission... If we find a way that doesn't involve going through that water again, i would be happy."

Dr. Mystiel Sange |

Of course, if something comes to kill us whilst we're still blinded, we're all royally screwed...
If nothing of that sort is going to happen, can we fast-forward to the part where we get our sight back? There's really nothing more we can do until we can see...
