@Martin: Where are you getting the listing of how to possibly spend Prestige Points? I have not spent any of mine as of yet, and I could use some guidance. My Ultimate Campaign is arriving in a couple of days. I can only hope that you say it is in there? LOL

@Lucky Halfling: I am possibly an initiate or member of the Bloody Barbers (still waiting to spend prestige points), but they may be a bit too murderouse for your intent. They are found throughout Absalom and are the only noteworthy Thieves Guild listed in the Cronicles Guide to Absalom under Organizations.

They have Ultimate Campaign up on Paizo's PRD site. Here is a link to the Reputation and Fame part.

And yeah, the Bloody Barbers is a bit too murderous for Harrison. He is overall good natured, but from time to time he likes to press his luck.

Thanks...I will post the Prestige spending this evening.

Wizard - Bladesinger/6; AC: 16 (20BS); HP: 32/32; Init: +4; Perc: +3; Bladesong Used 0/2; Spell Slots Used 1st 4/4, 2nd 2/3 3rd 0/3

I assume from the Reputation and Fame Rules that our Sphere of Influence is 300 Miles at over 20 Fame. That should certainly encompass all of the City of Absalom, if I am correct?

I will spend my Prestige Points as follows:

1) Hero's Luck (1 PP)
2) Palm Greaser (4 PP)
3) Character Witness (5 PP)
4) Favored Territory - Ivy District, Absalom (5 PP)
5) Fence Friend (4 PP)
6) Initiate Bloody Barbers (1 PP)- Diplomacy becomes a Class Skill

20 total spent = 5 remaining PP.

Male Lightfoot Halfling HP:79/79 | AC:21 | HD: 8/8 | INIT: +5 | SAVES: STR +0/ DEX +5/ CON +3/ INT +2/ WIS +2/ CHA +0

Yes, I think everyone's fame falls somewhere in the 20s. This means that we all have a Sphere of Influence that has a 300 mile radius or 600 mile diameter. That being said, considering Absalom's dimensions are somewhere around 8 miles by 6 miles, all of Absolom easily falls within one's Sphere of Influnence if they so choose for it to do so.

I've also noticed that a lot of people are posting that they have spent prestige points on things like Hero's Luck, Palm Greaser, and/or Character Witness. These things are not really necessary to list a you can choose to use them whenever you like. It's not something you have to pay for before hand.

Really, the only thing that you really need to list or things that include "Title" in the parenthesis that follow it. This means it has a lasting effect beyond a single immediate use.

I probably could have spent more of mine than I did >.>

Eh, I'll save it for when I need it.

Prestige and Fame

That one is much easier to use than the SRD. anything not in there I pulled from the Faction Page of the PFS Field Guide.

And yes we don't Have to list that stuff. but from my point of view it handy for our dm to know so we don't supprise him and helps me get a better feel for how Martin is going to do in city life, not in the depths of a jungle.. same guy but far different mindset.

I thought I read in this thread that each of the city districts was going to be a different sphere, that's why I said dockside for me, if its the whole city, then ill adjust my sheet. With all the work ive had to do, i erred on side of caution.

waylaid by new year bug, will post update hopefuloy in AM

I will have.to find it again but thereis a bardic college in our district that is a big deal, I will post it when I get a bit more upright.

That's that 'The White Grotto' Osk, its the big deal for bards, but as im a warrior I didn't mention that :D He said he had the books so figured would look into it.

Yeah...we need a ruling from Eragar as to whether a District is considered a Sphere of Influence. If not, then I need to change my Favored Territory to Absalom itself.

I also agree that there is no harm in listing them.

He did say.earlier.in respone to me.that.each district should be treated.as.a.sphere, but perhaps.he'll think differently on it now that we are asking en masse.

Male Lightfoot Halfling HP:79/79 | AC:21 | HD: 8/8 | INIT: +5 | SAVES: STR +0/ DEX +5/ CON +3/ INT +2/ WIS +2/ CHA +0

There are ways to spread ones fame for limited periods of time, so a sphere of influence only being considered a district is not that horribly big of a deal. Some of us will just have an easier time pulling off such a move than others.

Wizard - Bladesinger/6; AC: 16 (20BS); HP: 32/32; Init: +4; Perc: +3; Bladesong Used 0/2; Spell Slots Used 1st 4/4, 2nd 2/3 3rd 0/3

If it is defined as a District, then we should all indicate what districts our spheres encompass. By my count, we should all have 3 because we should all be over 20 Fame.

Maeltheron's would be the following districts.

Ivy District
Coins District
Merchant's District

Scarab Sages

Yes, each district is one part of your influenced area. I'm cutting down on it because you won't be travelling all over the world, and so the bonus would ne far above what it was intended to be if the influence stayed at hundreds of miles. Note that each of the outlying villages also counts as a district for these purposes.

Male Lightfoot Halfling HP:79/79 | AC:21 | HD: 8/8 | INIT: +5 | SAVES: STR +0/ DEX +5/ CON +3/ INT +2/ WIS +2/ CHA +0

Martin is known in The Docks, in Copperwood and in The Puddles.

As a fair and honest merchant. I figured The puddles and The docks because the pier is located in docks at the border with the puddles. And copperwood, that is what all my laborers and guards have come from.

Since our resident halfling is throwing down 1000 total to the inn, let's walk with an equal split, that will leave Cedany and Osk a bit more pocket change and will represent a larger investment in the inn by the halfling...whose name I suddenly can't remember? Am I just gonna call him "Lucky"? :p

I'll need to ruminate on my spheres, Ivy being the obvious given my goals and what not. I'll ruminate on the other two.

Male Lightfoot Halfling HP:79/79 | AC:21 | HD: 8/8 | INIT: +5 | SAVES: STR +0/ DEX +5/ CON +3/ INT +2/ WIS +2/ CHA +0

Harrison Jones is his name. I merely used "The Lucky Halfling" as a title as it helps make the profile a bit more reusable if it should come to that one day. However, if you feel like that is a name Osk might call him, I'm cool with that.

I can see/hear it now:

Harrison: "Osk... Osk~ Osk!"
Osk: "What now?"
Harrison: Holds out a bag of gems while smiling from ear to ear. "Look what I found!"
Osk: In a groaning voice. "Lucky where did you get that from?"

As for what districts I would like to have influence over...I'll have to choose later on. I'm not near my books or computer right now and I'll be out most of the night. However, you can assume I'll choose the Ivy District since that is where our humble abode is.

Wizard - Bladesinger/6; AC: 16 (20BS); HP: 32/32; Init: +4; Perc: +3; Bladesong Used 0/2; Spell Slots Used 1st 4/4, 2nd 2/3 3rd 0/3

I feel a little out of the mix at not having invested anything to the establishment, but I was assuming, that with my connections, I would be establishing the gaming and prostitution enterprises. Are you all investing part of your starting 8,000 GP for the Spirit Gallery, or am I missing something?

Male Lightfoot Halfling HP:79/79 | AC:21 | HD: 8/8 | INIT: +5 | SAVES: STR +0/ DEX +5/ CON +3/ INT +2/ WIS +2/ CHA +0

I chose to invest a good chunk of Harrison's starting wealth into the Inn, but I get the feeling that that matches up with Harrison's personality. Being a firm believer in the fact his luck will carry him through, he decided to drop a large sum of money into Cedany's lap that goes beyond whatever we were considered to have done in the first place.

Yeah, I hadn't donated anything else except when the idea of "the spirit guide" came up so I wanted to make that happen. Cedany chimed in so that is where that came from. I wouldn't feel bad about it Maeltheron, we are all bringing things of value to the table and the whole point is we will have more to go so I think wherever we are at is good.

I haven't really donated anything either.

Then again, Tirkala is, well, kinda greedy.

Male Lightfoot Halfling HP:79/79 | AC:21 | HD: 8/8 | INIT: +5 | SAVES: STR +0/ DEX +5/ CON +3/ INT +2/ WIS +2/ CHA +0

Yeah, I don't see any reason to worry about having to donate anything further to the establishment. I think we all have done what are characters would do.

So unless you find that you really want to do so, don't worry about it.

Edit: Erager, would it be possible for me to by chance rearrange a little gold and put forth another 600 gp to have another furnished room added in? Perhaps a secret halfling sized room with an extremely well made lock on the door?

And what exactly is it that you do in there Lucky? Such a well made lock for such a small room...

Male Lightfoot Halfling HP:79/79 | AC:21 | HD: 8/8 | INIT: +5 | SAVES: STR +0/ DEX +5/ CON +3/ INT +2/ WIS +2/ CHA +0

"It's where I practice my speeches. It's important they not be seen until I've perfected them. And you know what Osk? Sometimes you just have to get away from all the hussle and bussle." While saying this, a big grin comes over his face as he contemplates how long it would take him to build a network of underground tunnels beneath the inn.

Yes, that is fine. Paying for the lock is a separate cost from the room. Did you want it a secret (hidden) room, or is it just out of the way?

I apologize to everyone for not updating much these last few days. I've been all over the place recently.
I will try to have the game started by tonight. Tomorrow night at the latest.

if you have any extra coin left, pick up a team or ten of laborers(70gp)

Yeah I was envisioning a secret underground Halfling sized room. Otherwise, I'll do some finagling and get some gold scraped together for the room and lock.

Also, I get the feeling we had funds left over from what I invested into the inn.

That is very possible; I haven't been able to follow who has spent how much.

Yes, Tirkala is completely, utterly innocent... *evil grin*

I havnt spent a copper on the inn, but I bring some slight assets with me. I didn't want to be the first to post as im offsite.

Male Lightfoot Halfling HP:79/79 | AC:21 | HD: 8/8 | INIT: +5 | SAVES: STR +0/ DEX +5/ CON +3/ INT +2/ WIS +2/ CHA +0

I'm trying to figure out the cost for Harrison's secret room. I imagine it being underground with one secret entrance leading up into a storage room and perhaps another leading out into the alley. I would like to upgrade the locks to the best he can afford as well. This all being said and done, his book collection and cloak of resistance will likely be gotten rid of to pay for this.

Eragar, I forgot about this but I got info on one contact but not my other..

I got my trustworthy watch captain but not my ivy district council contact (should be "reliable").

Wizard - Bladesinger/6; AC: 16 (20BS); HP: 32/32; Init: +4; Perc: +3; Bladesong Used 0/2; Spell Slots Used 1st 4/4, 2nd 2/3 3rd 0/3

That would certainly help verify the employment status and rights of our pesky halfling.

"Hey, I resemble that rema...Oh yeah, that pesky Halfling."

And might also allow us to get an idea of if there is some old feud going on.

Wizard - Bladesinger/6; AC: 16 (20BS); HP: 32/32; Init: +4; Perc: +3; Bladesong Used 0/2; Spell Slots Used 1st 4/4, 2nd 2/3 3rd 0/3

I do not consider you pesky, Lucky, just absent from your duties. LOL

Male Lightfoot Halfling HP:79/79 | AC:21 | HD: 8/8 | INIT: +5 | SAVES: STR +0/ DEX +5/ CON +3/ INT +2/ WIS +2/ CHA +0

Lucky thinks he is attending his duties. While he might be dodging Mael thinks he should be doing, which amuses Lucky, he is entertaining the guests and keeping an eye on them. He is just doing so on a more personal level by being out in the crowd. Really now, who would expect the Halfling adventurer of keeping an eye on them?

Any ideas what they have in their belt pouches? :P

I must have missed it. I'll send you a PM momentarily with that info.

What does everyone think of the pace of the game so far? Too fast; too slow?

I've enjoyed it so far. I tend to be around throughout most of the day on most days so having a quick moving game doesn't bother me.

I'm just trying to figure out the price of my room so I can get everything adjusted.

I'm enjoying it so far ^^

Bedroom: 300
Escape Route: 360
Uprgrade to best non-magic lock: 110 for first, 150 for each additional (Would need 3 total if one was on regular door and one at each end of the escape route.)

You paid 333 of 1000 for the book which leaves 667 to put towards the room of your initial investment. That covers everything but upgrading and adding locks.

I have a project in mind to breakdown what was originally built, take the adjustments that were discussed and see if there is any left over

Hmm...I'll have to see what I can come up with. I find it an amusing concept that Harrison might have spent a small fortune on creating an underground lair for himself.

Slowly gaining money to continue expanding the structure further and further into the ground creating his own personal Hobbit, I mean Halfling hole.
