Rilia of the Savored Sting |

I don't really remember there being anything particularly sexy about the current situation until it got mentioned in discussion ('sometimes a cigar--'). Nor do I remember it being the primary complaint about OOC posts which I think I clarified above but will do so again for completeness sake here.
Rilia is pissed at Nel for undermining her attempts at browbeating the drow. She has other in-game personal issues with Nel and others as well (including completely in-game linguistical issues), but her player understands that those are the sorts of things that get worked out over the course of hundreds of posts, usually ending in fist-fight and a beer. Rilia's player has no beef with Nel's player or Tamiro's player, or anyone else currently here. For that matter she figures Tamiro is the only other character she can rely on to do the thing she thinks will probably be necessary once the interrogations are over...dun dun dunnn! And any OOC text is just there for clarification (even if it only served to confuse things). And that's pretty much it.
Sex seems to be the recurring problem. Since playing a Calistrian without sex, trickery, or vengeance is about as appealing to me as playing a Sarenite without compassion and sunshine, a Caydenite without fun and a cold beer, or just plain eating room-temperature molded white styrofoam packing material, I'm just going to retire her now.
I really don't want to have to discuss 'Which is racier (and therefore less acceptable)? Black garters or ruby lipstick?' in prolonged, awkward debate on the discussion thread. I don't want to make folks uncomfortable nor do I want to unduly censor Rilia now that I have about where I want her. It just wouldn't be true to the character's character if I couldn't use James Bond film-level innuendo. Also, I do not want to hold up the game.
Not exactly sure what I'll replace her with just yet, but I'll keep it as CORE as I can and something that can heal, at least a bit, so as to not force Gillian to be the sole remaining healbot. I'll try to aim for a cleric, or at least cleric-ish. Maybe half-cleric on their mother's side or something.
I'm a bit busy this weekend (family stuff) and probably wouldn't be able to post anyhow, but should have something to show by Monday-Tuesday. Rilia can wander off into a dark cave somewhere in the meantime, or we can just say she was like the ninth season of Dallas, or something so folks can get back to gaming.

Tamiro |

I am not suggesting a Calistrian with no sex (even though it is very viable), I am suggesting that it is a fine line between crude and acceptable. As mentioned before the manacles were understandable, we can let our imaginations fill in the rest, but things such as "suggestive wands" and then further medium sized bits and bridles, leaves very little to the imagination.
Its not that there cant be sex in the game, its that it is more comfortable when the sex is not forced.

![]() |

Well, it does seem like sex is the major issue that keeps coming up. It also seems like there's a fundamental disagreement as to how much is too much. As it is right now, I want to avoid sex as much as possible with the switch of characters. This is not out of prudishness, but because there is a fundamental disagreement about where lines should be drawn to the point that I'm not sure where those lines are.
Rilia, if you would like to change your character in order to prevent further head-butting over this issue, I think that will resolve most of the question of "what is the line". If (any only if) Rilia's player wants to do this, that will probably solve most of the conflict. As far as character build-in go, I'd like this to be done as smoothly as possible so that way there's no big difference in play time.
This isn't a huge spoiler, but the next room has the boss fight for this book. You got this info from the person you're interrogating. I want to have the new character be a hostage in that room who has either just freed themselves or is easy to free so that we can have everyone participate in the boss fight for the book. Is everyone okay with this?
One last thing -I don't want this to lead to the assumption that conflict will be resolved by completely changing a character. Please get used to using the discussion thread more often, especially if you're unsure about in-character/out-of-character differences. I'll try to be better about using the discussion thread myself.

Gillian Flynn |

All of that sounds fine to me as well. I'm glad that things should hopefully be sorted and I'm looking forward to a hopefully smoother ride in the future :)

Rilia of the Savored Sting |

Honestly it might be a day or two more to figure out what I'd like to play/build. I've got a fair amount on my plate right now and character building is not really all that high on the list. So I would just move on and say when it happens it happens. I'll be there as soon as I can.

Gillian Flynn |

By the way Rilia, don't worry about the whole 'not forcing Gillian to be a buffbot' thing - I certainly don't mind picking up some buff spells too depending on party needs :)

Head's up, since we have plenty of people with spellcraft, I'm going to handwave all spellcraft checks except on items unique to the AP (unique items will still require independent identification!). This AP is loot-starved enough that I don't want you to have to not use an item due to a poor roll.
Expect a gameplay update tomorrow morning (provided things don't go downhill).

Great Green God |

Technically the adventure paths are built for 4 characters, anything more and the GM has to multiply the listed dangers and the rewards by the difference. It's a fair amount of work to keep it all balanced I can tell you.

![]() |

Yes, that is correct. But this AP is also built for 3.5, which has a much lower wealth-by-level than Pathfinder does. Even as I adjust monster stats to meet Pathfinder stats, I'm having to be very much aware of available gear and what that means for readiness for future encounters.

Aishe Danior |

Yeah, part of the reason I do the treasure sheet is so it's easy to keep track of the overarching wealth by level. Easy to see, at a glance, where we are as a group.
Let me know if I can help, and thanks again Slothsy for GMing for us! :)

Gillian Flynn |

Whoops, reading comprehension fail on my part then. Work has been busy but I'll try and get up a prep post as soon as I can!

Tamiro |

Just a notice, I am going to have troubles getting posts up due to a ridiculously busy schedule the next few months. I will try my hardest to post as often as possible, but please feel free to bot as necessary.
Sorry, and thank you!

hp: 1d10 ⇒ 10
Nel is all leveled up! I seemed to have missed the original message, but her hp and Gibraltar's stuff should also be updated. Nel picked up Aklo as an additional language.

Tamirobot gives Rilia all of his stuff! ;)
Why is Tamiro suddenly naked and fighting with bare hands?????

Rilia of the Savored Sting |

Monk levels? Vow of poverty samurai?

Thanks Gillian! The same to everyone else (though I'm a few days late).
As a note, sorry about the quality of the minis for this map; these don't reduce in size well. I recommend zooming in for a better look.
Likewise, I'm going to be more aggressive in botting this final fight, since the initiative is really broken up. My posts may also be less-than my usual quality, since I want to keep things moving.

Alraniel "Nel" Sandhal |

Just as a reminder, Tamiro is away from home this week. He's client side for his work and wishes to be botted as he will be unable to check the forums until 10:00pm.

Tamiro |

Looks like Nel gave the jist of it, but heres my copy pasted message to my forum games:
GM please bot me!
I am being consumed whole by this client working 12 hour days, I really cant devote any time for a couple weeks. I am sorry!

Rilia of the Savored Sting |

Sorry, you'll have to excuse him. He's new to all this and doesn't understand all the fancy buttons on the screen quite yet--like 'submit post'.

Orthrus Wightblood |

Happy holidays! (There are still some left right?)

Gillian Flynn |

Yep, Happy New Year's Eve Eve! Had planned to go to a party tomorrow evening but I think I'm going to stay home and occupy myself with Paizo and my 3DS instead.
(Life of an introvert, hehe.)

Orthrus Wightblood |

I cast detect magic... Failed to note it in my first post, but edited it in. Is that what you meant?
Although... Where are you getting the spell from? I probably missed it is it some bit of equipment or wand or trait?

Aishe Danior |

heheheh, yeah, nice huh. You should ask in character, but then your character doesn't know my classes anyway, so I guess I'll spill.
It's a Cloak of the Hedge Wizard, Divination variety. Gives me detect magic and prestidigitation at will (Aishe likes to be clean) as well as detect secret doors and true strike each once a day. Let's me help out a little outside of combat. Even more when I get a lucky string of roles like I did. :)

Aishe Danior |

I'm mostly there. I don't usually assign values to things we haven't identified yet so it's easy to see what we have yet to ID. I can flag it with a color though, and will do so, and you can see the values. Give me a few minutes, er several minutes anyway, and it'll be current. :)

Thanks so much!
As a reminder, it seems like we're quickly wrapping up the end of the book. Once you leave the Devil's Elbow, book three will begin. This is your "do what you want now" part of the story for this island.
Likewise, I will be setting up a new campaign shortly (since there are errors with this one) and will be making a GM alias. I just got the Wayfinder app for my phone, so I'll be able to post better and more often. The only thing is that it won't let me use my main "Slothsy" alias. Whomp whomp.
Also, once you return to Riddleport, you'll be able to sell gear and buy whatever you want. Art/precious gem objects (basically anything listed as "worth x gold) can be sold for full. Everything else is sold for half. If you are vastly under wealth-by-level, let me know and I'll look into adding value.
I had something else to add, but I just can't gosh darn remember it. Maybe in a bit?

![]() |

Oh, I remember now! There is a gap level between the end of book two and the beginning of book three. You all are now level six after defeating Shindiira and friends. Book three opens with you being level seven. I'm just going to give you that level for free, and everyone will individually get 10,000 gp as a reward from Clegg Zincher for rescuing him.

![]() |

Alrighty. I've set up the new campaign here. The gameplay thread is set up with the start of the next book, so we can dive right on in when everything is wrapped up here. Don't feel like you gotta start right away. I just wanted to let you all know that it was an option.
The start is also post-recovery from returning from Devil's Elbow. You can have any of the noqual you found made into weapons or armor for the price of the normal weapon / armor (negating the bonus from special materials). It is worth 50 gp per pound if you wish to sell the noqual instead.

Tamiro |

*reads up on the properties of noqual*
Dude! Why would you not have armor and weapons made!?
At this phase I cant see any reason not too. The extra 5k gp for magicked noqual armor/weapons is nasty but I would consider it an investment.

Aishe Danior |

I'll assume we're keeping the Noqual then for manufacturing. Is there anything else anyone wants to keep? Or should I plan on selling everything else? I feel bad, as I'm keeping the bolts which are worth quite a bit as it turns out...
Someone should snag that handy haversack too. If no one else does, Aishe will if only to help carry all the extra gear we're likely to pick up. Treasure Sheet Link
We have 56 pounds of Noqual for use. Aishe doesn't need any.
I also suggest we buy, as a party purchase, two wands of Cure Light Wounds. It'd be 1,500gp off the top, and it'll help us keep going when the times are tough. Anyone think of any other 'group' purchases we should make like that?

Orthrus Wightblood |

I also suggest we buy, as a party purchase, two wands of Cure Light Wounds.
Orthrus came with one. Also he can Brew Potions, cast cure spells, and is a pretty fair alchemist.

Aishe Danior |

Cool! Thanks Orthrus. We should definitely buy two then. We'll use 'em up eventually, and I don't want any one person sacrificing their wealth for healing as that isn't fair either. :)
+7HP (6 class +1 con) (total 53)
+1 Fort & Reflex Saves
+1 BAB (CMD/CMB) (+7/+2)
+9 skills (6 class +1 human +1 int +1 favored) (Bluff, Diplomacy, Disable Device, Knowledge Dungeoneering, Knowledge Nature, Linguistics (undercommon), Perception, Sense Motive, Spellcraft, Survival)
+1 Feat (Weapon Focus (level 7) (+1 to attacks with crossbow))
+1 Feat (Rapid Shot (ranger 2) (+1 attack but -2 on all attacks))

Orthrus Wightblood |

Orthrus will put in a bid on the handy haversack (he packs a cauldron, a portable alchemist lab, and a lot of potions).
He'll also take any alchemical item that someone else doesn't want.

Gillian Flynn |

Gillian is cool with Orthrus taking the Handy Haversack; she's already got one so she's happy to volunteer the leftover space in it to carrying stuff for the party or someone else.
As far as the noqual goes she'd encourage Tamiro and Nel to make use of it first if either are interested; since she's generally not meant to be up in melee very often she'd be more inclined to have some armor made out of it if there's any left. I'm also good with buying some Cure wands; leaves more spell slots for blasting for Gillian, mwaha >:)
Perusing our current list, let's see...
Gillian is happy to take the wand of Produce Flame unless someone else wants it. It's not on either the oracle or the witch spell list so both Gillian and Orthrus would have to UMD it, as would everyone else in the party.
Most of the other stuff she either can't use (the magical banded mail and the flail), probably wouldn't use (the magical shield), or already has one of her own (Cloak of Resistance +1).
I'd say disperse the potions out among the group as evenly as possible. Gillian has Lesser Restoration on her spell list so someone else should carry the Lesser Restoration potions; stuff like that.
