I am currently waiting on Saul to post my actions, as it looks like there was a surprise round and Nel goes last in the first round, or as I like to look at it, first in the second round.
Pluck
Ok, I feel a need to say something out of character here. I understand that Tamiro is incensed with Saul and that this is about his honor.
But, I posted both in and out of character about the importance of catching and questioning Saul and not just killing him.
If we accidentally kill Saul (which we might have), no big deal. That happens all the time in role playing games. But, its another matter to coup de grace him.
In the future, if we have disagreements about tactics, can we also discuss those out of character instead playing them out at the table.
Tamiro
Pluck, I do apologize for missing the out of character discussion of, if I had picked that conversion up I would have found a means of holding his hand in some way. I only saw the in character, and acted accordingly.
I will en-devour in the future to try and make sure I catch out of character as much as in character. If this does put us back a significant amount in the PbP, I take the full responsibility for not paying as close attention.
I mostly assumed with multiple large hits on a rogue, he would have gone straight to dead, and the "coup de grace" was simply following a rules if necessary.
Pluck
I think he's thinking about trying to bring a 5th level priest who can speak with dead back to us.
Note that Pluck loves this idea because of the opportunity to try to get some answers out of Saul and prepare ourselves for whoever he's working for, but myself as a player am not sure its the best tactic since it will probably run us 150 gp and may or may not produce the answers we want.

Hey guys, I just wanted to mention that I'd like everyone to be aware of intraparty interactions. While conflict with any group is inevitable, please be aware that since this is a play-by-post, we have an odd dynamic going on where we mainly know each other as our characters, and in-character fighting can go south quicker than anyone expected. I highly recommend dialing back the name-calling especially, since I do want this campaign to make it to the end without the party turning against each other.
Pluck
I was waiting to see if we have any more input. So far its Mazra and Pluck voting to try to learn more about DA and Nel has suggested the smell. Even if your character has no opinion, does anyone have an opinion as a player? We can always play that out in character.
BTW, Ianez has probably been to the wine cellar by now (when we searched the Goblin) and has a +9 Knowledge (Dungeoneering).
Alraniel "Nel" Sandhal
As far as it goes, I'm not sure how much more Saul can tell us about DA or the smell. I was just putting up a suggestion when I mentioned the smell.
Pluck
I'm thinking that suggestion from Tamiro might be our best bet. Its going to be hard to phrase something to get much info about D.A. I suspect the troglodyte smell is either coming from a secret door within the wine cellar or under the wine cellar. So, we might get to the same place by learning how to get under the octahedron.

As Slothsy knows, because I'm her ride, I will also be going to gencon from July 29th to August 2nd. The 29th and 2nd will be our travel days, and we are not sure how well the internet will be at our hotel room, so I suspect that I will not have a chance to post during this week.
Ianez Gastnicht
Not I, but I'll be gone the weekend after that to a non-gaming con (the GoH used to work at the Vatican Observatory, and one of the other attendees was at Johns Hopkins Applied Physics Lab for the New Horizons flyby; expecting lots of planetological goodness); the hotel charges for internet access, so I'll only have my phone.
Ianez Gastnicht
Not in the university sense, although I've got postgraduate degrees; I used to be a researcher at Argonne National Lab, and after my division went away I ended up on the support side of the house. Now I try to make sure that other people can do research without damaging themselves or unlucky passers-by. This is occasionally challenging.

I'll be at GenCon too. GMing 8 slots, playing 2.
Sounds like fun! I did that last year. This year, I'm just GMing 5, playing 1 and taking the other 4 slots to see the con. Now, I'm just waiting on one of my scenarios (since I learned from last year, when I did 8 unique scenarios, and had 4 scenarios to prep in one week...) Nel, Tamiro and I are looking forward to playing in The Sky Key Solution!
Ianez - I understand that. I'm finishing up my M.S. in Sociology and then will moving out of academic half of things and into academic advising for undergrads + adjunct work on the side when need be.

A good friend of mine (and another long-time gamer) has a doctorate in Sociology, and is currently teaching at a community college in Madison. I proofread his dissertation for him--it convinced me that study/experimental design for that field was way trickier than the physical sciences. As a researcher, I generally didn't have to worry about my samples lying to me....

I think this will be my 3rd or 4th year with 7-8 GMing slots. This year is actually pretty simple. I'm running six slots of The Darkest Abduction which I have already played in. My other two are Siege of Serpents and True Dragons of Absalom. That last one is the only one I'm waiting on. Boys and I will also be playing The Sky Key solution although it looks like I may lose one of them to summer band activities.

I'll update the treasure-tracking sheet shortly. The big "wins" were Saul's rapier and +1 leather armor, Bojask's +1 chain shirt, 2 vial of drow poison (one of which is currently coating the rapier) and 2 potions of CLW.
In total you recieved as loot during the siege:
+1 leather armor
+1 chain shirt
+1 rapier (currently coated in drow poison)
2 vials drow poison
1 masterwork battleaxe
1 masterwork handaxe
1 throwing axe
2 sets studded leather armor
2 short swords
14 gp
ruby earring worth 250
Saul's key ring
Saul's key sharpened to be usable as a dagger and attachable as a prosthetic (leads to lands unknown)
The Gold Goblin has:
Larur's signet ring, found along with human teeth and bone fragments in Pigsaw's pen
An All Tools Vest
The Deed to the Gold Goblin
+1 Crossbow in the head manager's office
1 vial blue whinnis poison (with crossbow)
Saul's cigars, humidor, and snuffbox
Various furnishings, including a wyvern skin-covered office set, gold candlesticks and a fully stocked kitchen, bar and pantry
600 gp in the coffer
Did anyone take the +1 cloak of resistance?
As for the casino, you are now the legal owners. You have all items
listed in the rooms, as well as 600 gp left in the coffers. If you want to be somewhat hands-on as the owners, you are welcome to do so as originally outlined with the various profession checks - those should still be listed on the campaign tab. In addition, when/if you head off to adventure, I will be happy to place Vark in the NPC role of running the casino.

Does the Goblin have its own gambling chips? And if so, in what denominations. This is what Rolf would have been paid in.
The dead boar seriously needs roasting. Mazra will begin to work to that end.
And by the way, thanks.

@Nel - My apologies if I have been too presumptuous. I would hope you would still be the manager of the Gold Goblin. The pbp format does not give us the opportunities for discourse that a ftf campaign would offer. I would have discussed options and strategies more freely. But this format makes such back and forth difficult.
I would hope that we would be in agreement with the vetting of employees for instance. But please feel free at anytime to veto anything my PC may offer. I still yield to your leadership.
