@ Mazra- no worries. I was going to have Nel do that too, I just wanted to weasel out all of Saul's allies first. We can interview people together, although evil is not enough to have Nel auto fire someone. :P

As a CG, Mazra would need some convincing on how an Evil member of the Gold Goblin could benefit the establishment. However, I could see Mazra being convinced of the virtues, or should I say sins, of a Succubus clad waitress' ability to attract clientele. ;)

As a note, you are able to use each other's light sources, but keep in mind that they have 20 ft ranges for each light level.

Also, the map is 10 ft squares; that is why you are teeny-tiny.

Tamiro is plumbing the depths! Literally...

Sorry for any delays. Should be posting today hopefully. On pre GenCon vacation!

Liberty's Edge

they/them pronouns

Right now, I have Tamiro and Nel on the other end of the cavern, Mazra and Ianez towards the entrance and Pluck on auto-follow.

Is that right?

Okay, I'm back from Gen Con! I hope everyone's had a nice week. I'll post later tonight on the next room - getting settled in and whatnot.

I'm also back from Gen Con and sorry for the lack of posts before the con. I should be able to catch up soon...hopefully tonight although I think my wife has going out to dinner plans.

How was the con?

Had a great time!

The only thing that wasn't wonderful was that no one seemed to want to play The Darkest Abduction. I didn't have a single slot of it go off and I was scheduled to run six of them. They had me run Confirmation in one of those and Scions of the Sky Key Part 3 in another one. For the first time in years, I had time to really walk the hall which was great!

The specials were a blast. I GMed Siege of Serpents, played the Sky Key Solution and ran True Dragons of Absalom which was the best of the lot in my book. My son GMed Serpents Rise. I'll have to play or GM it later this fall. I almost got a chance to play it when my final Darkest Abduction slot was abducted, but the table got their sixth right before I got my shot.

Yea, I GMed Confirmation and Tes tof Tar Kuata. Neither Nel's nor I's Test of Tar Kuata went off. My confirmation table was good though, a group who all joined PFS together at the con and decided to start with Confirmation.

I had a lot of great family tables this year. Dad plus 5 kids at Confirmation. Dad with two boys at Scions. And a table of dads for True Dragons who all had their kids over playing at the next table. Best part of that last one was that the kids kicked butt and got done way before the dads. They kept coming by and telling them what they had done better!

Liberty's Edge

I had a great time this year! I ran 5 tables this year, instead of 8 last. The Bronze House Reprisal was more fun than a barrel of Aspis. I managed to flesh-to-stone and phantasmal killer Tamiro's ranger :D

I also ran Serpent's Rise, which was AMAZING. My group knew each other, got really into character, and was just generally a blast to GM for. They also said I ran one of the best wizard fights they've ever been in (since I was making them run laps).

Yea, my ranger had a bad morning on that adventure lol!

I always joked about Sepia Snake Sigiled/Flesh to Stone/Explosive Rune trapped books, first time I ever encountered one lol!

Then the double failed rolls for Phantasmal Killer sucked!

Ianez can cast Comprehend Languages, which will at least give us half the conversation.

Liberty's Edge

they/them pronouns

After resolving this encounter, I'm going to trim the map slightly to give it a better layout. The map is still 10 feet squares, but it'll be more managable.

Liberty's Edge

they/them pronouns

As a note, linguistics can only be used for written languages. However, given your great check, I was happy to give you some insight. Just keep in mind the limitations of linguistics in the future.

Understood. I figured the absolute best case was getting the gist of it and maybe an idea of what the language might be related to. Definitely not exact meaning or being able to converse. Which is exactly how you handled it. Thank you!

Liberty's Edge

I am uber busy this weekend and won't be on till Monday. For clarification, the grey thing on the map is the stone. It's circular and part of an arch, so you can walk up it normally, though double moving requires a DC 5 acrobatics check to walk up.

Otherwise, have fun! Enjoy your Halloween, etc etc. (Also, hint, once you're done with this fight, we'll have finished book one and everyone can be level 4!)

Happy Halloween!

For those of you who don't know, there's been a lot of outages lately. I'm trying to keep things moving, but it's hard to do so when I go to post and find a delightful goblin picture, haha!

Anyway, thank you AP writer for giving the drow whose name you still don't know slippers of spider climb :P

Talk about thwarting a Create Pit spell. Levitate spells work nicely too.

At least there's a chance she took some damage when she fell.

And that was even done before create pit existed as a spell! :)

Liberty's Edge

I am so sorry about Pluck D:

Quite all right. Unless I'm mis-adding, he's not dead yet (I'm assuming that Fort save was for massive damage). Plus he was just about out of tricks for our drow. Had one more grease spell and then would have been pretty much worthless.

Liberty's Edge

they/them pronouns

Fort save was v. drow poison, actually. Massive damage kicks in at 50 hp. Good job eating the crit, then.

I'm starting to wonder if the fighter -> inquisitor conversion was a good idea, haha.

Liberty's Edge

they/them pronouns

Congrats everyone! We have completed book one :D Obviously, there are still some things going on right now that you can assist with. Update your character sheets when you have a chance.

I'm hoping to wrap up loose ends before the 20th or so - basically, what are you doing with the drow, what are your intentions for the Gold Goblin, and the stuff going on down at the wharves - and then taking a break until January 3rd to start book two. Is everyone cool with that?

Also, if any of you decide that you wish to leave the party due to any reason (I'd be sad to see you go, but I understand), let me know so I can advertise/arrange for replacements. This is a natural sort of point to leave. Book two takes you away from the Gold Goblin, so your character can opt to stay on as manager or choose a different option.

Anyway, this has been a blast and I look forward to continuing on.

Mazra has Saul's +1 Rapier. But a +1 Chain Shirt would be sweet. Anything not needed should be sold to purchase more useful items and as a reserve for running the Goblin. Your thoughts?

I would think what is sold would be to support our own wallets lol

I see nothing that Tamiro would want from that. He is fairly good as it is. I will probably just buy some Masterwork spells and enchant what I have.

Pluck would have mild interest in the slippers of spider climbing, but not if they cut too much into his ability to purchase scrolls for scribing new spells and to purchase materials for him to scribe scrolls for the party. Nothing else on the list is of interest.

Since Ianez already has L4 WBL equipment, I'll stay out of this.

Liberty's Edge

As a note, running the Goblin while adventuring isn't something that you'll explicitly have to do, but I can look into the downtime rules from UC and come up with some plans. The Goblin can be assumed to be self-sufficient but not excessively profit-making if you don't want to handle it heavily (aka, it'll be a good base of operations but not something that's going to send you a monthly stipend).

Once Nel chimes in about gear, I'll divide it up. Ianez, since you came in with WBL, you'll receive a much smaller share of gold (mostly earned from the adventures in the cave below).
