Sari drives her spear into the last goblin's side as he scurries by. It comes to a crashing stop against the wall and lies still.
The far doors are flung open suddenly and two more well-armed goblins rush by the drummer. She screeches at them and they halt just in front of her, weapons at the ready.
Eberk's up.
Yod
As to your AoO question I think not. You do not threaten (35,49), so no AoO for an enemy leaving there. His next move would be to (35,48) which is what you are triggering your readied attack on. Were he to leave that space as well, then you'd get your AoO. The point is moot, as no one comes through the doorway.
Crouching there, waiting for one of the stupid beasts to follow you down the hall you hear the drummer beating more distinctly back behind you, towards the party.
It's your wife's turn behind the other spoiler.

I guess they ate her posts?
Site's been flaky lately, I guess. She got the no-store URL more than once.

Though you mowed through these last goblins as fast as they appeared, they do look to be more experienced warrior goblins rather than the common tribes-folk outside.
This one side-steps Eberk's overhead chop, closing ranks with his comrade. The shriveled old witch goblin in back of them howls with delight and sings louder.
Sari's turn.

There's a shouted command from behind the goblins, causing one of them to shy back against the wall. Eberk catches a glimpse of the source of the command. A big goblin - almost dwarf sized is charging into combat on a huge gecko. The lizard leaps with alarming speed through the gap between the two warriors.
Eberk can have an attack of opportunity against either the shying warrior, the lizard (which the rider can oppose with his ride check), or the rider.

DM Luke |

My action occurs just before yours Cha, so you can change your action if you want. I think we can dispense with the spoilers. Once Cha has acted it is Shal's turn, then several other actors that I control - but I'm going to bed. The consolidated initiative is...
Singer 21
Yod 16
Goblin Warriors 15
Eberk 13
Sari 12
Ripnugget 9
Cha 7+
Ishah 7
Shal 4
I'll post again tomorrow after work.

DM Luke |

Eberk's reflexive swipe draws a bloody furrow across the goblin's bicep and it screeches in pain and fury. The gecko and rider spring into the doorway beside Eberk and wheel on a pinhead back around to face the dwarf. Fortunately the rider's reflexes are no comparison to its mount's and its attack comes off clumsy.
Cha lunges in at the mount and scores a hit along its shoulder. It hisses at the druid as its rider fights Eberk.
Ishah starts barking like mad at the sight of the big stinky lizard, causing the goblin dogs out in the yard to start going ape-s%&+ crazy again.
Shal calls to Yod as she runs back down the hall toward the party. "The fight's back here Yod!" As she comes she draws her sword again slides into the combat between Cha and Eberk.
The crooning witch in the back waves her hands and starts screeching but the sound is lost in the din. She claps her hands together. Cha, make a Will Save vs spells.
Yod's turn.

DM Luke |

Yod sneaks back through the pillar room and circles around behind the enemy. The witch goblin screeches in surprise as she catches sight of the lumbering half-orc.
Cha has passed his Will save.
Both goblins focus their attacks on Eberk, who is up to his neck in goblins at this point. One of them manages to sneak his dogslicer in under the fighter's guard, opening a cut. 5 points of damage.
Eberk's turn.

DM Luke |

Eberk slays his first target but fails to land a follow up blow on the rider or his mount.
It is Sari's turn.

Sari |

Sari stands there and surveys the situation. She takes a few steps back, to (28, 44) and takes a mental inventory. "Okay, I have no power to cast a spell, the scrolls I purchased are pretty much useless in this situation." She holds her spear ready and prepares to defend the backsides of those closest to her. "Backsides, huh...." She surveys the situation again, and pays careful attention to the 'backside' of those in front of her. "Not bad," she thinks, "the view could be worse." Her mind begins to wander to a gathering about seven months back, where she happened upon some young men that were entertaining themselves by betting on their fighting prowess. The vision causes her a few moments of raised pulse.

DM Luke |

Yes... the goblin king cuts a dashing figure as he lunges out with a wild swing. He nearly loses his seat as his war gecko closes ranks with its allies. 5' step to (28,49).
Cha and Eberk both notice a barkskin effect on Ripnugget.
Cha's turn.

Cha tuk |

I move to 28,48 and swing at the gecko again. [ooc]Natural 20+4=24. Damage is 5+1=6. Confirm is 14+4=18. Damage is 4+1=5.[ooc] I break into song as I poke holes in Ripnugget's mount...
"Into the house of the goblins,
and slaughter them one by one.
We'll root them out
and burn it down, ore the day is done."

DM Luke |

Cha drives his blade into the lizard's neck, severing its spinal column and dropping it to the ground. Ripnugget springs off the lizard's back as it falls.
Shal smirks at Cha's song and stands her ground.
The goblin witch attempts to cast another enchantment, this one with Yod as her target, but apparently Cha's song has upset her for she fumbles the attempt. Cast defensively fails (natural 1). Lost spell points, no AoO.
Yod's turn.

Yod Akarn |

Atk on the witch 18+7=25 Dmg 4+7=11.
If that takes her out I'll yell NEXT! and take a 5' to 28,50 flanking the soon to be on the dead list Ripnugget.
If she's still up I'll stay where I am.
No singing or dreaming just kill and move on to the next victum
Did I miss something? Is Sari have a real vision about something or just mind wandering during battle?

DM Luke |

Yod crushes the frail goblin to the floor with a two-handed overhead blow. He steps over the wreckage to surround the dismounted goblin king.
The remaining goblin warrior strikes at Yod and lands a perfect blow despite the protection of the lingering enchanted armor.(19 + 3 = 22, which hits and threatens. 14 + 3 = 17 confirms. 2 x d4 + 2 = 7 hp damage).
Eberk's turn.

DM Luke |

The blow decapitates the last remaining goblin and carries through to impact Ripnugget in the rib cage. There's an audible and quite satisfying crunch as several of the goblin king's ribs crack.
Though wounded by the blow, the goblin king remains upright. It is Sari's turn.

DM Luke |

re: 'the spirituality of a goblin....' A knowledge (religion) inquiry? Like... what kind of spiritual life they lead, or where their god(dess) fits in the cosmos, or do you mean what happens when they die? 8)
Ripnugget jukes, squirms, and dances in an attempt to get by Yod and escape back to his pitch dark throne room.
The king is withdrawing, meaning his first 5' of his move don't provoke AoOs. He does provoke one from Yod for the second move (and will provoke another if he lives, if Yod has Combat Reflexes on his third). Yod, go ahead and take that.

DM Luke |

One is enough when y'all are rolling like this. Poor massacred goblinfolk...
Yod carries through with one blow and catches Ripnugget on the back of the head as he attempts to squeeze by. His twisted crown gets a bit twistier as it is driven into his brain, sending him to the ground in an unconscious heap.
End combat. Ripnugget is a former small creature.
There are dead goblins everywhere. Outside, night is falling and these halls are growing dark and cold. The din of the trapped hounds abates shortly after the battle ends, the dogs having cried themselves out.
The hit point totals I have are:
Sari 18/18
Eberk 22/33
Yod 9/16
Cha 20/22
Ishah 19/19

"Good job everyone. Let's secure this place, look around a bit and find a spot where we can get some rest."
I head to the main doors we came in to see if there's a way to bar them from the inside. I want to get them closed. Is there any light source in the room? If not, the second plan will be to get a torch burning.

Yod Akarn |

Well we still have several doors and areas unexplored including the boarded up one with the writing on it, is anyone able to read the message on it? We might want to search the witch and Ripnugget for goodies if we have time for it right now.
If we don't rest now I will want to take my last CLW potion at this time. CLW 4+3=7 I feel much better now thanks!

Sari |

"I have been singing a lullaby for what seems like hours! If I don't get some rest soon, I'm going to get grumpy....and you won't like me when I'm grumpy!"
We just need to find a room that we can secure and rest in, and deal with all the other stuff later. I vote for someone with more testosterone than me to search the bodies.

DM Luke |

There's a stout bar for the front door. It's a testament to their overconfidence that the doors were standing wide open when you arrived. This trophy room you're in is lit by the failing daylight through the open door. There are narrow windows along the outside wall on the way to the watchtowers. The hall to the throne room and the throne room itself are dark but Yod and Eberk can see an iron fire pit among the pillars in the middle of the room. Beyond that, there's no sources of light in any of the rooms you've been in. The little buggers can see in the dark. Well... could see in the dark.
So one of you busts out a torch.
The witch has a wand tucked into her belt. Her gear is nice - if you're a goblin. Which ye ain't.
Yod flips Ripnugget over and gets his first good look at his breastplate. It is well-made but has a crude sihedron rune scratched into its surface. Both he and the witch have belt pouches. Between the two of them they have 48 gp and two stoppered and waxed vials of some yellow liquid. The king also has a rusted ring on his belt with several keys on it.
The daggers that Cha is alluding to are the ones pinning the large leather wings to the wall in the trophy room. One of the daggers has a pearl in its pommel.
The room that the goblins came out of (33,49) is filled with soiled mattresses and all manner of random jetsam that only a goblin could consider treasure.

DM Luke |

It's a nice dagger that will probably fetch a pretty coin back in town.

DM Luke |

Sorry folks. I had to take the map down based on something I read on another thread on this site. They've asked that folks not doctor and post their original artwork from the books, so I have to find fan-created maps or make them myself. I downloaded something last night but have not decided if I'm using it or making something myself.
For now...
The door you've opened is unlocked (and thankfully untrapped). It opens onto a dark, narrow stairway that descends abit then reverses itself at a landing to continue further down.
Hopefully I'll post a new map tonight

Yod Akarn |

Yeh that sounds good, lets finish up these areas first. Sounds like someone who can see in the dark will have to go down there later.
If it's getting dark there might be some patrols or something returning to this place so we should post a watch or take shifts or something. Ready to check some other doors? pick one and I'll check it for traps and open it up if I don't find anything.
