The Lady Calista Da Romano |

OOo I have a honeyed tongue weeee roll twice on Dip rolls, as for what will happen when a throng of revellers see a group of Devils show up, carrying a naked woman for sacrifice by the evil Cheliax now carrying a wicked looking dagger for the act ARRR!!!
Claista looks over at Ruatria
::"Thank you, that will help a lot, now what to do with this Cheliaxon, we could place him at some great disadvantage here. Lets have some fun"::

Valignatir |

Oh, wasn't saying you did anything wrong. Just pointing out that "Wait, what? I started this? I would never!" might seem a little odd to an observer who'd just seen you summon three terrifying "biblically" evil horrors.
Ah, okay. Now I understand.
I guess the context just didn't get across.Well, technically, I didn't start this.
Joking, of course, but I do understand your point.
Thank you.

Nev Atropa |

Nev Atropa |

Grapple of 45 if needed.
A bit of background that Valignatir might have heard at some point, Dame Atropa returned from the Worldwound a few years ago after she saved princess Eutropia from a demon. She was severely injured, and that combined with years of vigil against said creatures, she holds a pretty sever grudge.

Valignatir |

Well, that went well. Thinking it's enough to get a few details.
"You are a crusader from the Worldwound, no? Lady Nev, correct? Then you must know that these are not the chaotic demons, but the more civilized devils, and I have total control of them."
"Do not worry, they are here to help me, and that's all, I assure you."
Infernal: "Go, back up into the tent. I will call you if needed."
"Does that help assuage your fears, Lady?"

Barnette Bright the XII |

Perception: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (5) + 10 = 15 to see the ambassador with the women
Sense Motive: 1d20 + 20 ⇒ (14) + 20 = 34 to sense something is wrong
Barnette follows behind Dame Ruatria as they meander through the crowd towards the tent.
He sees the flash of bright light and the silhouettes, then notices the women being dragged out by the devils
Know Planes: 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (2) + 15 = 17 to identify devils
As a crowd starts to gather around the tent, and whispers start to spread of the "devil summoner", Barnette steps forward clapping
Bravo! Bravo! Ambasador you are a man of many talents, you could have told me you were such an adept on the stage. And my, look at those devils! so life like! that must be hours of make up!
Barnette turns to face the crowd
Ladies and Gentlemen it seems tonight we are to be entertained with scenes of intrigue and attempted Assassinations! Who is behind such nefarious actions and what could be their motives? Do not tarry here my fellow revelers for you may be missing the next act as we speak! and please a round of applause for all of the actors here!
Use Peerless Patrician to assume a Nat 20 for a 47 on bluff
Barnette then turns and makes he way to the ambasador, looking for signs of injury
Amasador are you harmed? I do not think it wise to be here when the guards show up to ask questions, I of course understand such ways as this
Barnette motions towards the devils
But many do not, and the Chelish are not well loved here, I must council against summoning like this in such public places, my dear Ambassador
Barnette motions to Franco to restrain the women
Ambassador Valignatir please let me handle this from here, dismiss you servants and i will deal with this women and the City Guard when they arrive, it is the least i can do to try and solidify relations between our two nations.
I have my men working to quell any rumors, spreading their own rumors about the side show you just appeared in, as well as increasing the alcohol content in the punch so soon most of the gossipers will be do drunk and marry to wonder why there are no more scenes
Barnette lets out a small chuckle
Welcome to Oppara Ambassador, I think you will do well here
as Barnette slaps him on the shoulder

Valignatir |

Valignatir waves his hand at the crowd, takes a bow, and turns to Barnette.
"I am sorry, friend, I believed my life was truly in danger. I lost my wits for a second. I am sorry if I caused more trouble than necessary."
As the devils walk into the tent, he dismisses the spell, sending them back to where they came from.
"Perhaps that advise is wise, friend, but what of the assassin? Should I not stay to witness as to what happened here? Or do the laws of this land work differently than I imagined?"

Ser Constantine Rook |

Your observations are good, my lady. I think I was but a passing fancy to the girl. She seemed to be seeking another.?' Constantine pauses, watching as the woman leads the man into one of the tents erected nearby. ”And it does seem she's found—Oh!” The silhouette of the woman attempting to stab the dark-dressed man is easily visible. ”Somehow, I doubt that's part of the festivities.”
He lets out a small sigh, letting Gabrielle's arm down as he steps away, offering her his arm as he turns to head in that direction. ”That sounds splendid. I won't stand by if there is in fact trouble.”
Perception: 1d20 + 16 ⇒ (9) + 16 = 25
As they stroll, quite quickly, toward the commotion, Constantine halts as the devils exit the tent. ”And to think I left my spear at home today.”
”Chelaxians..we should just ban all of them from our borders if this is what will happen.”
Rubbing a hand over his mask as the situation escalates and then de-escalates, he glances to the winter noble with a sly smile ”Carnival wasn't like this last time I went!”

Valignatir |

I'd like to state again, for GM, current party members, and possible future party members, I will be much more subtle when I am not under attack by the Red Mantis at a midnight party in a warehouse xD
It was an act that he did not think through as a character. I'm imagining he hasn't been here long, and this will have been a very effective learning experience.
Thank you for the opportunity to develop him so much!

The Lady Calista Da Romano |

Looks an as more and more come,
Good Barnette was taking care of the crewed, it would not hold for any one knew any thing about magic, but it would work on the majority. he was giving her time to work, She sends her physical up into the air spotting other trouble while she probed the girls mind, She wanted to know who was behind this.
"Now who do you work for and are there others with you?"

Barnette Bright the XII |

[b]As an Ambassador you have certain rights, one of which is not having to suffers the whims of the city guard. Besides they will not be the ones doing the investigations. Im sure there will be questions for you and the investigators will make an appointment with you in due time.
The important thing is you are not harmed, i would under stand if you wish to retire for the night, but if you choose to stay please let me and a few of my college's join you. I am sure lady Calista and Dame Rutatri will be happy to keep you company [\b]

Valignatir |

"I bid you all good night, and apologies for ruining the festival, as it may be. May we meet again soon, on better terms, hopefully."
I want to continue to roleplay with this wonderful cast of characters, but I didn't think he'd want to stay around. Maybe y'all could finish the festival, and then we could meet up again later?

Valignatir |

I think I want to emphasize his Lawful aspects more than his Evil aspects.
Meaning that he is okay with committing "necessary" evil acts, but does not actively go out of his way to do evil.
Keeping this in mind, I have decided to change his alignment from LE to LN, and I do intend to implement changes in his behavior that fit this alignment.
Thanks for reading!

The Lady Calista Da Romano |

Stands now she is done with the girl, the girl had said nothing to her, Calista looked at Nev now holding the girl.
"Hello there, I'm Lady Romana and thank you for you help. I was trying NOT to think of the three devils. So much better now your restraining her"
says to the last few onlookers
"lords and lady's I really do think you should move along now, there will other things to see this night, but this act is now over."
Diplomacy 1d20 + 27 ⇒ (7) + 27 = 34 or 1d20 + 27 ⇒ (13) + 27 = 40
Then she says to Nev
"I was tying to see if what the Ambassador said was true. I did witness what looked to be someone female try and attack him. My hope is the girl your holding will supply more information"
Holding RP here

GM Leviathan |

SO!
I have been painstakingly keeping track of your guys' stories and stats (with assistance)
This is bittersweet for me, as you all have fantastic characters!
As I know the pain of rejection at recruitment can be difficult, I want to start by telling each of you what I liked about your Characters.
Here's the list:
Grovo I really enjoyed the out of the box thinking. First to rise as an Evil character in a recruitment where the slotted characters are basically goodly, shows a lot of gumption. I also enjoyed the crime lord angle
Rednal I like an underdog, and Lucas is just that. Gifted with powers that he considered menial until he used them to save a prince, and then forced to use them to save that prince as he followed through with his idiotic plan to get himself killed... That is a good story!
BigRig Evil! Evil as sin, because I know exactly where I can use you in this story. That being said, the fact that your character is who he is makes the party dynamic a point of private contention among those who are already slotted! If you were a goodly character, you would've made this choice so much easier on me!
Constantine I love Oberrr.... Constantine Rook! That you worked with existing players show to create and finalize your product (Because let's face it this is like presenting a product for review) shows effort on your behalf. I love when players work together, because... How else are you going to beat your GM?
Jonny...Panic Your character has a really cool concept! The mind-probing secret police of the Empire. It's something that I hadn't even thought about as a possibility. I really enjoy when people think of ideas before I get there... It's unusual, and it shows genuine creativity!
SCKnightHero1 The Bard-Knight! Yet another point of contention among our allotted players, though not for your preference to wear black and red! Another bard in the party is hard enough to justify to the one that's already there... I feel like I'm in the twilight zone! nobdy ever WANTS to be the bard, and I've got more of you here than any other class!. Ruatria is a beautifully crafted maiden, and the depth of detail you put into her back story far exceeds the rest. As has been said before, I LOVE a good story, and, in my opinion, you have one of the best.
Mark Kay Aurelian... what do I say about a man so torn that he wouldn't take as some perceived slight? Right up there with Ruatria, your story literally mad emy eyes well up from being forced to kill your own brother, to missing saying goodbye to your father forever because of some small sour feelings toward your family... I am in love with this broken man, and want to see what becomes of him.
Bane888 Out of nowhere drops in our 3rd Evil contender! Sworn wholly to your father and his gains, the family truly is evil. I'd say NE, because "Whatever is to my benefit, regardless of who I have to crush along the way" seems to be the type of man that your father is. This was our first REAL assassin character too! in comparison, every skilled based character doesn't even come close to the pure, clean death that you are capable of. Furthermore... styled after Little finger? I like.
Barnette Well, what's not to say about the man who just took charge of a potentially dangerous situation, and single handedly brought everyone back to there sense!? That was some incredible RPing, sir! I haven't seen someone handle a crowd of soon-to-be panicked people so well in a long time, and to be the only person to think about the crowd first, as well as the angry devil worshiper too! I applaud you sir, and sincerely hope to be in a game along side you some day!
JonGarret I LOVE ORCS! There I said it! Zereal being orc-blooded was awesome! Then the black scythe... I think you said it best, and I'm not afraid to admit: There is certainly a weeaboo in me that can't get enough of a pure black scythe!
Gyrfalcon THE F*CKING NAMES!!! I read your backstory 3 times, out loud just to try to pronounce the names correctly! When reading it the most recent time, I realized. You come off as one of my F2F players. He intends to "WIN" the grand game! the idea that its possible would only ever occur to a gnome, as, more often than not, the meme is true: YOU LOSE THE GAME!

GM Leviathan |

Further thought no longer required required!
Thanks to CRFaye, who was my F2F sounding board tonight, I have made my decisions far sooner than expectedI'm miserable at making decisions without someone to talk at. If she had not assisted by listening and chiming in with all the bits I had forgotten, this would've taken days.
I have decided 3 things!
1)This one was easy! You all have such good characters that I will have 2 Players joining this game I'm told that's not really a surprise though.
2)Again, this decision has been made for me. Thank the gods! I am happy to announce:
Ser Constantine Rook is the first choice. There isn't really anyway to say "no" when all of your players are insisting that it's a must. I love your character through and through, and he reminds me of the last of CRFaye's F2F games, where I basically played your character... with the catchphrase "We shall never speak of this again." Frankly, I'm looking forward to having you on as a player myself, because you are one of the character's I'm most interested in seeing react to certain events that I have planned. You also come highly recommended by others in my F2F group who have been PbPing for years
3) Going against the advice of your players is not typically a wise decision, and can lead to party turmoil that can be detrimental, if not fatal to a game. I know this, I've watched my fair share of F2F games get wrecked because something had happened between players outside of my storied realms. Usually when a player informs me that it is unwise to allow another player to join, I heed that advice as though my life depended on it... Not this time.
... Before I get to who this last player will be, I want to be clear: there was absolutely no mention of you being a "Sh*thead who stole my girlfriend!" In fact, the reason for attempts at dissuading me from choosing you have been quiet public... You have an evil character. I can't let having an evil character be the only reason you didn't get in to my game, when I explicitly said that a "Civilized" evil was completely allowable.
Valignatir Jeggare, you are the last player for this game. Your outstanding role-play, was just one of the reasons. Your big meaty... plot hook... is so juicy that I can't not take it. Your shift towards neutral (Even if you are still an evil Chelish puta), made this decision much easier, but more then that, your ability to work with me and the players openly and honestly (even if you were afraid of giving away some secrets of your character) is what drove the nail home for me. I know that desire to just smash the head in of any NPC you see as an Evil Character is overwhelming, especially to one with such definitive views as a Chelish Noble when they've been wronged. I am proud of you for both discussing with me, and considering the reactions of the other player before going along with that annihilating public Coup de grace you had originally thought of. I would've allowed it, and you would've summarily been removed from the running all together.
Thank you all for applying, I genuinely hope to be able to play/run with you in the future! and I'm sorry that I couldn't pick all of you.
Constantine and Valignatir, please report to the discussion thread for the next step in the arduous process of game preparation.

Jonny...Panic Your character has a really cool concept! The mind-probing secret police of the Empire. It's something that I hadn't even thought about as a possibility. I really enjoy when people think of ideas before I get there... It's unusual, and it shows genuine creativity!
That is high praise,
I'm kind of know for coming up with crazy ideas,
Like Mr Wibbteen the Gnome, she shrank himself
and fly's around inside his Edalon with a soul Doll crew.
Little magic missile cannons and all.
Or
Doctor Redhat, His magic key and the "doomsday bunny toy" TM that shut down hell for a day.
hehe, I love coming up with interesting ideas, so thanks GM for giving me a chance to be creative.

gyrfalcon |

Phoenix, thanks indeed for taking time to show you've read and understood each of our submissions. It's a great testament to you that you had such options to choose between, and it looks like you've made some excellent choices.
I'll look forward to playing with you in some future game.
Cheers, gyrfalcon

Thanks for the opportunity. As i said before i really enjoyed the whole creation process and this little rp session we all had. Please let me know if you are running anything in the near future as i would love to apply again. Also please let me know if you would like Barnette to make a cameo appearance ;) i would be happy to help out. Have fun all you lucky players and i hope to see you all on the message boards again soon.

Ser Constantine Rook... I love your character through and through, and he reminds me of the last of CRFaye's F2F games, where I basically played your character... with the catchphrase "We shall never speak of this again."
I think the best part about it is that this character had a brother... Named Constantine the Bear.
