If we'll be filling out a seating chart with a whole host of NPC classmates,then it might be nice to have some of them as roomies, if only to get them into the thick of things earlier/give us some early targets for assorted mischief.
A single or a triple would work, as would a NPC roomie, or multiple NPC roomies. It’s one thing for one school to house a buncha monsters, but quite another for us all to happen to room together. On the other hand it’d be a quick shorthand to get us all together.

That actually brings up a good question: To what extent to we all know about each other?
Some of the initial strings will spread some information around either way, but will we otherwise know who the local supernaturals are at the start?

also, in my first of... likely several questions: Yu, what are you? (I kinda think the answer is an almost Turing-complete AI, but there could be others. (I don't know is great for most answers, but at least a general idea of what they are might be helpful)
Local people will know Carrie as the girl with the crazy mother who lives in the junkyard and takes crazy risks. People who give her crap will reap the crap whirlwind. But she is fiercely loyal to her friends.

Well, odd man out is still clearly on the table, but however the gender split breaks down, Kelly won't be lacking for intra-party romance options.

She's been dead about three weeks. But she's been staying in a lot over those weeks trying to deal with the changes.

Alex is an upper-class girl who would like to be a bit more of a rebel than she actually is... she sees herself as a liberal, left wing kinda person (into saving the wales, helping those 'less fortunate' etc.) - To some extent this is rebellion against her mum more than anything else though... She might well be seen as a bit of a pretender.
So, someone gets a string on Alex, having caught her rummaging through someone else's stuff... Who that is will depend on who she rooms with I guess.
Makes sense. I'm supposed to pick someone to have been essentially stalking for a couple of weeks, enough to make their scent and mannerisms unmistakable to me.

Mindy is generally desired by all the boys, mostly due to her aloof nature. She’s largely disliked by the girls for the same reason. I vote for either co-ed or a setup where there’s an all bots and all Girls school on the same property that shares some classes and facilities.
Extracurriculars: Yearbook, because it keeps her OUT of the pages of the yearbook.
While we're doing strings, I want to know some stuff about the campus, and town beyond.. I'm looking for landmarks, shops, whatever. places you guys want scenes set in. one or two from each of you would be nice.
I’d love some sort of teen hangout like the Max or the Peach Pit or the Bronze. Teen dance club/hunting ground.
Maybe someplace seedy for the bad kids? An abandoned hospital walking distance from the school?

As for places, I'm confused. Isn't this set in 2018? I thought that everybody always stayed inside and did everything on their phone nowadays.
I'm imagining that we are a large town/small city - like 50-150k people. The Academy is probably on the edge. If we're in New England, and we're monsters, then It might stand to reason that we're in Maine. In any case, there are several big cities to go to for special events. Portland, Boston, Providence.
Ideas for campus: A clock tower, mysterious steam tunnels.
City: the old abandoned lighthouse. A restaurant known for big slabs of meat - Barbecue? Steakhouse? Brazilian steakhouse?
The places I've already mentioned:
Greystone prison - probably about 30-60 minutes away.
Broklawsky Tow, Wrecking and Parts - outside of town in the less picturesque side.
Broklawsky Auto Sales and Service - A couple towns over.
A long twisty highway with a hairpin turn over a drop-off.
Yu is a bad fit for Carrie's crush, but they might have saved Minder.
As a modern campus, the rooms are built with raised floor plenums for cables and ducts, meaning there are many ways to get from room to room without walking the halls. This includes the tunnels and raised bridges which keep the campus open when it snows. Sometimes small animals get caught in there.
There is a building, visible from the roof of the Advanced Technology Center (where staff keeps the server racks) which looks like it's full of life at night, like an open patio lounge with live music.

I think I'm gonna go with Mindy having caught her nose, I'm viewing it as a bit of a rival predator thing, so I get two strings on her.

As far as locations go, there's the gym with the after hours fight club ("The Sweat Shop"), the locker room at school is a natural place for all kinds of scenes, and I'll second that we need a Bronze equivalent.
I guess Alex could be Carrie’s love-reminder... since she’s only just arrived in town I’ll have to think of a scenario... are we playing from day 1 of school, or have we been around/known each other for a few weeks?

1: Alex rescued a bird with a broken wing which she's secretly looking after in her dorm room.
2: Alex stood up to a clique of rich kids (lead by Vanessa Cartwright - the school b%&@$) who were teasing a scholarship student (maybe Carrie herself?) about his/her lower-class background.
3: Alex argued with the school principle about girls having to wear dresses or skirts and not being allowed to wear trousers.
