It's finally here! My multi-table campaign is ready to enter recruitment.
*************************************************************************** *******************************************************************
The men appeared at your house, telling you it was time to go. Your parents assured you it was for the best. Time to leave your life of a farmer, miner, whatever. Time to join the Agency.
As you climbed aboard the horse they provided, they started telling you the rules. Rule one - they said - Obey your Unit leader. Rule two - obey the General. Rule three - don't upset the Warden. And remember, this isn't the Army.
It's worse.
*************************************************************************** *******************************************************************
This is what you, the PC, need to know.
Your torture experience begins before the gameplay thread has been created, before the players have been chosen.
Your pc is a nobody - literally. A young boy from some farm or mine far away. You have nothing but your clothes. And the knowledge that your parents sold you to the Royalty.
Your character has the following character restrictions:
20 pt buy
Level 1
No gear except basic clothes - we'll handle the rest later.
Races: Human ONLY
Classes: Any paizo
Feats: all paizo
Traits: At first level, you will gain 1 trait and one drawback. None of the usual "2 free traits + a default feat + human feat - all at first level"
Alignments any
1 submission per person
So therefore, your level 1 human fighter would get 3 feats, a trait and a drawback.
I will be looking for about 15 to 20 recruits, using first come first serve. PM me if you have any further questions
LegitGM |
Good morning all, nice to see the questions - means people are interested enough to ask them.
I will allow myth-weavers for character sheets. As I understand it, Paizo has a nasty habit of not saving large amounts of work.
At first you get (a) feat(s), just no traits. Instead you get a drawback, and then a trait to go along with it. So disregard the no traits thing.
Gunslinger is allowed for this, just keep in mind you have nothing on you but your clothes at the moment.
Yes, Ventiine, I am relatively new. I've had a campaign going for about a month, and I have two in recruitment.
It can indeed be a girl.
So far, the following characters are in:
Shogunto Heineous
Winst Ulbrage
Parker Grenzo
Zathan Jax
Remish, lose the hero point - we use a different point system in the ARA - and you're in.
Zathan Jax |
At first you get (a) feat(s), just no traits.
Still a little confused on this point. To clarify, since all PCs must be human, there are two feats total at level 1 (normal level 1 feat plus the level 1 human feat), plus any bonus feats that the class provides at that level (which would make 3 for a level 1 fighter, for example), right?
LegitGM |
Thanks for that Winst.
Zathan has it right, about the 3 for a fighter. sorry I said that in a very, very vague way. What I was trying to clarify by that was a drawback and a trait instead of the usual two traits.
With Remish in, we have a total of 5 people. Several others have expressed interest, and I am holding out hoping on them. If you know someone who might be interested, could you notify them? This game is designed for mass amounts of people to cycle through (constantly gaining and losing players).

As I understand it, Paizo has a nasty habit of not saving large amounts of work.
The issue is a time out. If you take too long your work will be lost.
There are a number of ways around this.* You can submit periodically to keep from hitting the time out and then edit again and add more. This won't work for forum posts but works fine for your profile.
* You can work things out separately in a text file and then copy and paste.
* You can remember to copy your text to the clipboard before submitting, and then if it is lost just go back and paste.

I'd be interested in playing an Occultist but that could pose a problem with the no equipment. Preferably I'd run the Panoply Savant archetype using the Trappings of the Warrior panoply which would require a weapon and a shield.
If those things would be provided to the characters as part of some training that could work. Otherwise a small wooden shield and either a dagger (inconspicuous) or a wooden stake (just a sharpened stick) would work.

Most parents are happy to have a child marked by the gods, Sarah's parents would have been ecstatic if their little girl had a birthmark shaped like a butterfly, they would have been contend with her hand being marked with the three daggers, but the eight pointed star on the baby's head less welcome.
But at least little Sarah was healthy, even if she was more prone to act randomly than other children. The troubles started when she started to display her God given magic, everything from healing to summoning magical warhammers. The hired exorcist didn't do much good, neither for his sanity or for young Sarah, the only thing he achieved was her birthmark Turing black.
Being sold to the Artifact retrieval agency was quite a surprise to her, but not that unexpended for the young anarchist, maybe sacrificing the chicken she should fetch for the festive dinner to chaos before handing it to her mother was a mistake or maybe it was her success in recruiting for her cult, or maybe the times where just that bad. She was glad (and a tiny bit insulted) to not be sold to a brothel in the city (but maybe that's because of Azathoth on her forhead)
Sarah has brown hair in a bob-cut, piercing green eyes and the star of Azathoth on her forhead.
She is a being of chaos, but neither stupid nor self destructive.

Gear will (eventually) be attained, as part of Training Camp. I think we have enough people we could start soon.
I am pressed for time at the moment, and will review Karthal and Sarah later. Cuan and Beastmaster (and other people): I plan on giving you about 3ish more days to get your people in (although the setup allows for people to join periodically throughout the campaign, so don't worry if you don't finish in time.)

Background: Things around Billy set on fire. It happened when he was young, his parents took away his toy and he started to cry, and when he did, the drapes caught on fire. After that, his parents did everything they could to keep him calm.
For the most part, Billy had a normal childhood, but his parents did have to move a few times, which he always found fun (since after living in a place for a while none of the kids were allowed to play with him anymore). Finally having enough, Billy's parents turned him over to the men from the government.

Things around Billy set on fire. ... After that, his parents did everything they could to keep him calm.
You're in :D
Karthal is also in (noticing a lot of paranoid people in this game...)
@Yokaiboy
I can't seem to find the trait and the drawback. Am I missing them, or are you?
In case any of you are interested, if I was playing a character I would totally use the forgetful drawback. I came close to using my other account to submit a character, but then decided it would be hard to play in a campaign that I run. And I trip and happen to hit the secret lever on my way down. Totally didn't know it was there :D

Trait is birthmark and drawback is foul brand
The tool I use for character creation doesn't mention the Traits and I forgot to add them manuallyMaUC |
I thought about creating a Hunter with Monk VMC, but it seems Monk VMC doesn't actually grant Wis-bonus to AC, which pretty much means the character has no chance of avoiding enemy fire... :/
Would you be open to the idea of creating a pseudo-archetype... Like trading armor proficiency for a dodge bonus to AC (maybe Wis mod + 1/6 level) and maybe switching those teamwork feats for IUS progression (maybe effective Monk level = 1/2 Hunter level) and possibly Stunning fist later on (mostly so I can qualify for cool monk feats ^^)?
