Seeing the Darnoc take aim at Pae, the group unleashes its might upon it
Hazreem fires off another sunbeam striking the Darnoc squarely. (Reflex: 19 fails, Dmg 54 - 50% = 27 total)
Bahir rushes in and strikes the Darnoc.(9+6+5) for 20 dmg - 50% = 10 total)
Mah’ysa blasts the creature with a Searing Light spell. (SR check: 32 passes, Dmg: 29 - 50% = 16 total)
Pae’s, annoyed that he lacks many options against this foe lashes out with his scorpion whip, hitting the danoc twice   (4+5 = 9 dmg, 9 - 50% = 4 dmg total).
The darnoc, upon dying looks Pae dead into the eyes and mouths, "See you soon", and then fizzles into nothing.
Efreat halts his spellcasting just in time as Pae's final attack seemingly destroys the creature

There are a number of apparent exits, each covered by a large set of thick crimson velvet curtains with intricate brass detailing in seemingly abstract patterns. (See the squiggly lines on the map). Also clearly visible behind the throne is a large pit with a slick-looking ramp leading down into darkness.

Cautiously peaking through the curtain of velvet and glimmering brass, in the same room that Vezzaresh had called the mosque, you see another large chamber with rectangular carpets of all colors laid about the room. Three giants of crimson skin and dark horns are laying prostrate on a carpet each, large falchion close by. They seem to be in deep prayer as they pay you no mind. Curiously, these Efreet are dressed in tattered rags and not adorned with the opulent clothing you have been accustomed to expect of denizens of the palace.

Seeing that the Efreet are not immediately reacting, Pae continues to look around the chamber...

Brass fonts on either side of the entry spit forth streams of burning oil into small basins. Prayer niches open on the wall to the left, and an alcove on the right holds shelves for footwear. A three step dias, seemingly made of obsidian, holds a shining brass minbar where an imam would typically stand, though now sits empty.

Its been a long while, in real time anyway, and so free to look up Ymeri in Archive of Nethys or Pathfinder wiki if you'd like a reminder. You've all learned a few things about her: she is the Elemental Lord of the Plane of Fire, and most Efreet worship her; (as most of the evil fire beings, though the lizard folk and salamanders still generally hold to Flauros) ; she ultimately seeks to consume the Plane of Earth with fire, and is constantly waging war at the planar borders; and most importantly, it seems that Jhavhul is infatuated with her and trying to impress her may be his key motivation in awakening Xotani.

Bahir gives the nearest efreeti a nudge on the shoulder, hoping to wake him from his worship for some questioning. The efreeti comes to and glares at Bahir with a crazed look in his eyes. He wildly lashses out at the Paladin, who easily avoids its forearm.

Silver Crusade

Round 01 Summary

Bahir reaches out to the efreeti to attempt to cure him of what may be affecting his mental condition. The paladin just catches its arm and transfers divine energy upon him, hoping to calm the genie down. The rest of the party, meanwhile, follows Bahir’s lead and waits to see how the genie responds.

The efreeti, for his part, looks down at the paladin’s hand upon his and grins wickedly.

Bahir:
Your hear his voice ring through you mind, “What makes you think Bagoas was our captor? Idiot fool of the Dawnflower, you will die today.”

The genie howls with rage and reaches both of his arms violently around the paladin, locking them both up into a grapple. (Grapple vs CMD: 27 succeeds)

Being that I was using Lay Hands on to someone else and was trying to appear non-threatening, I will say that I do not currently have Vardishal in my hand. No AOO for me :) Also, just realized I can both understand and speak to these guys perfectly as I have truespeech from greater angelic aspect. Which also improved my deflection bonus to AC (which effects CMD). My current CMD should be 30 with deflection added in. I just had the base listed on my character sheet (I corrected it to include my normal +2 to deflection to a 28).

Startled as he hears the efreeti's voice in his head, he almost doesn't duck quickly enough to avoid the giant red man's encompassing arms. Speaking back to his assailant in the quick percussive syllables of the Ignan language, "Very well, since you refuse redmeption, you will find that The Everlight is ready to wash away your corruption."

I agree with the retcon to grapple; I should have checked the enhancements too. It's a lot of stuff to keep up with without tools. They really need to make some forum tools.

While the mad genie is able to lock up Bahir for just a moment, the paladin is able to narrowly escape its grasp by spinning out of the maneuver and readying himself now for the fight to come. Seeing the genie go after Bahir, Efreat immediately unleashes a blast from his wand. The five missiles all strike effortlessly, further enraging the genie as it howls in what almost sounds like a combination of delight and pain at the same time.(12 dmg taken)

Round 02 Summary

Hazreem, mournfully flies over to the efreeti in the center of the room (purple) and strikes out at the efreeti. Seeing the efreeti still locked into a trance-like state causes Hazreem a bit of hesitation and his airy slam on narrowly misses the genie (AC17 miss). However, Hazreem’s attack is close enough to bring the efreeti back into reality and it looks up at the large elemental with malice.

Back at the efreeti in the south end of the mosque, Bahir draws Vardishal and slashes it deep into the efreeti’s torso. Bahir clearly senses Vardishal’s delight in drawing the efreeti’s blood, like the blade is releasing pent up anger with each strike. Thinking back, he only recalls this same reaction during their other battles against the efreeti Vezzaresh. (AC 25 hit: 12+(3x2)+10+10+2=50 dmg) Mah’ysa says back and focuses only watching over the entire battle, monitoring her allies’ health status and ready to rush into and heal if needed. Pae, not wanting to miss any action, nimbly moves into striking range of the efreeti (Acrobatics 35 success), while Efreat unleashes another blast from his wand of magic missile (18 dmg). The efreeti looks much weakened after both the damage Bahir and Efreat caused.

The seriously injured efreeti (blue) steps back five feet from Bahir and Pae. With uncommon speed, it fires off a scorching ray spell and 3 beams of searing fire fly forth, one each targeting Bahir, Pae, and Efreat. The beam aimed for Bahir harmlessly fizzles as it strikes the paladin’s protective globe of invulnerability, and the beam aimed at Efreat wildly misses the sorcerer. Pae, however, takes the blast full on but the spell fails to penetrate his fire resistance. Annoyed, the efreeti begins casting another spell and a large wall of fire materializes on top of Bahir and Pae. Only Mah’ysa, with no active fire resistance is affected by the wall’s heat (8 dmg)

The efreeti near Hazreem (purple) moves back and rapidly fires off 3 beams of scorching ray at the druid. The genie is dismayed to see all three beams strike with no apparent effect on the air elemental. (38 dmg absorbed by Protection from Fire, 82 pts of prot. remain). Hazreem then watches as the efreeti grows immense in size, and the efreeti yells out an enorumous roar.
