  • Hazreem continues to slam around Memrach trying to destroy the extra images. The group’s wave of bad luck continues, however, as all of Hazreem’s attacks manage to actually hit Memrach, whose high DR negates most of the damage. (3 hits, 3 total damage taken).

  • Mah’ysa casts cure serious wounds and heals Efreat. (26 health gained).
  • Bahir manages to destroy another image and also land a single, solid blow. However, the foul div remains standing.(AC50 hit for 25 damage; AC40 hit, image destroyed; 1 image remains).

Memrach grits his teeth at the loss of another image. He then takes a 5ft. step out of the flank, grips his falchion with both hands and then turns to exceedingly annoying air elemental. He unleashes a brutal strike that drops Hazreem to the ground, unconscious and dying. (AC 28 hits, 28 damage) After the air elemental drops, he then quickly turns to Bahir to deliver 2 additional strikes, but the paladin’s defenses are too great. (AC 19, 13 - both miss)

He looks back at Hazreem and then Bahir, ”Save your friend or fight the monster, which shall it be hero?”

Hazreem would have used his Heat Shimmer ability here when Memrach attacked him. Basically it gives him a 20% miss chance as per the Blur spell. If Memrach does actually hit then he automatically stabilizes due to his Diehard feat. For the moment, Hazreem will play dead.

Heat Shimmer (Su)::
As a free action, you can surround yourself with heat distortion that acts as the blur spell. Creatures that strike you in melee while you're using this ability are dazzled for 1 round (Fortitude DC 21 negates). You may use this ability for a number of rounds per day equal to 3 + your Wisdom modifier. These rounds need not be consecutive. Use 10/10 rounds/day.

Upon being hit with Memrach's strike, Hazreem is spared from immediately from falling unconscious through his specialized training to absorb such blows (i.e. Diehard), though Hazreem does decide to play dead for now to hopefully avoid any further wrath from Memrach.

(1) Mah'ysa's miniature is still at Efreat and so I can only assume her post is accurate, unless she has some sort of ranged healing ability. Would that change your action?
(2) Haste expired at the end of round 7b. I will shift your rolled 6 down to your 2nd attack and you rolled 2 to your 3rd attack. The good news, at least, is that the 29 on the first attack automatically dispels the last image since it missed by 5 or less. Between the rules for rolling a 1 on an attack and the rules for missing by 5 or less from Mirror Image, I don't see why the natural one that was still within 5 AC wouldn't disrupt an image.

There was no way to reach Hazreem and heal him in one round, so I spent this round pushing Efreat up out of one shot kill hp range. Next round I can move and maybe get close enough to hit him with Stabilize, but I still won't be able to get to him and heal him until the round after that.
There is a whole lot of Difficult Terrain in here!
I really shouldn't have wasted those Positive Energy Bursts on those skeletons...

No hit, because the rolled 6 is currently with the +28 for the hasted attack at full-bab. When moved down to your normal 2nd attack (+23) you get a 29. Am I missing something, my brain is a bit frazzled ...?

Drawing a wand is considered a move action correct? According to the Diehard feat You can take a move action without further injuring yourself, but if you perform any standard action you take 1 point of damage after completing the act. So basically he can heal himself and will take the point of damage afterwards.

  • Mah’ysa sensing that Memrach is about to destroy Hazreem, casts wall of stone and entombed Hazreem in a protective shell. (nice!).
  • Bahir, countenance falling as Memrach casts another round of mirror image, digs in and unleashes Tempest yet again, hoping it will strike true through the illusion. His first attack, a slice to Memrach’s left flank merely cuts through an image. Hazreem peeks in the room and it appears to be another parlor, though this one has bookshelves, hookahs, and a bar area. There is also a desk with writing instruments on top. It appears to be searched, though not completely tossed about like the previous room. There is another large opening leading to the balcony area overlooking the City of Fire. There does not seem to be any occupants.

There is one immediately discernible magical aura. A large painting depicting the City of Brass appears to have a time loop of various animations as airships float by, winged creatures fly about, great galleons of brass sail the seas of lava, and such. It is radiating moderate illusion magic.

I assume we are going to take 20's to search the library as it is are goal to get answers. Bahir will stand guard while the others do the searching.

The built-in bookshelves are stacked with hundreds of books on various topics: some fiction, some academic, some biographical. The books appear to be arranged in no particular order, at least not one immediately recognizable.
(if there is any particular topic you are interested in, roll a 1d100 to see if you can find something related to it)

The desk contains what look to be the instruments of someone who likes to write, whether it be scrolls or things that are more mundane. All the furniture around the room is large-sized, as usual. The bar has a few bottles of wine and other liquor, though they are very dusty. It seems as one of the hookahs has been recently used as well.

Other than the magical painting, there are a few other non-magical, though visually pleasing paintings, as well as some that depict conquer and slaughter of mortals, djinni, and marids. "Excuse me", Iavesk states as he strolls up to one of the paintings depicting the conquest of djinni. He draws his falchion and destroys the painting. ""Sorry. I do feel better though.

Finally, Hazreem's critical search is able to uncover a secret panel in the wall near the desk.

Hazreem waves the others over. "Found something!" He looks over the panel for a moment before shrugging. "No way to tell if it is trapped though. We do need to risk it though."

I am pretty sure Pae is not able to disable traps in his current form, but he should be able to find them right?

Pae can make a perception check. Some kind of penalty may be in order given his rodent eyesight. You'll have to work out how he can communicate anything he finds with you.

I was thinking of having Pae scratch something with his squirrel paws 'Yes' or 'No" if he finds a trap. Or he wags his bushy tail once for 'Yes' and twice for 'No'. Should there be a trap then at least we will know about it.
