Rav nods, and then jerks his head and begins sneaking away from the house.

When they get back to the others, he sets his pack up so it is between him and the house as a backstop, then takes out a very small dim light and keeps it close to the ground. "Ok, so, house shaped like this. Second story like this. Balcony here. Klaven here. Small garden here. Windows on ground floor all covered with curtains. Garden have two rose bushes that not be rose bushes, they move on own without wind. No other entries 'cept door in garden and front door."

Rav then points to the second floor. "If was Rav home, Rav would put traps all up stairs leading to this room, put traps all in this room, and put Klaven on guard to guard room, make stupid people think Rav there. Rav would be in hidden rooms in basement, with warning bells. If someone attack, Rav would leave by tunnel and light fuse on 50 barrels of black powder in basement as leave tunnel, blow intruders to smithereens. Then, Rav smarter than average gobby, Lomrick may not think of that."

He points to the drawing again. "Rav think of several ways go in. Numbah 1, sneak in as deep as possible before raising hell. This plan no work, 'cause Palo no able sneak past sleeping bear in middle of winter during snow storm without tripping and waking up. Vael and rusty gears not much better. Plus neither can see in dark. So Plan A s%#!e and no work."

He mimes throwing something over his shoulder. "Numbah 2, everyone but Rav go to back of house as quietly as possible, maybe stop 100 ft away. Rav make gear bit out of spare parts to roll up to front door with boom powder, blow up, get everyone head to front door while everyone else break in garden and kill flowers before going in. Downside, everyone in building may flee out front door. Dat be Plan B."

He makes motions with his fingers as if turning something around. "Numbah 3, reverse of Plan B. Everyone get close to front as possible, maybe 100 ft away, Rav go around back, throw boom into garden, blow up flowers, get everyone come back, while everyone else storm front door. Maybe jam gate so can't leave via back? Dat be Plan C."

He then points to the front again. "Got two variants of B and C. If we got any oil, instead of just boom, blow up oil, coat front of house with burning oil, or back of house, make people inside run out other side into waiting arms of rest of party to kill. That be Fire B and Fire C plan."

He then points to the side of the house. "Numbah 6, everyone sneak up together, get close as possible. Rav sneak up to side of house, set charge, and blow big damn hole in side of house. Everyone charge in through hole and attack everything that move that look like Klaven or Lomrick. Dat be Plan D. But may escape out front or back, but better boom and better surprise..."

"Ohhh good. I see every single one of these plans involves lots of fire and explosions," Palo sighs. "If we're going to blow something up then I say we just go with Plan D and blow a hole in the side of the house. Like you said, they won't be expecting anyone to just come crashing in through the walls like that."

Rav nods so hard his floppy brimmed hat falls off the back of his head, caught only by the strap around his chin. His pointy ears continue to flop as he nods hard enough to give others headaches. "Very good plans! Lots of boom and fire! See, knew Palo would come around! Palo finally understanding what takes make good plan!" Rav looks thoughtful. "Also had plan where Palo summon big eagle, tell eagle carry keg of powder over house and drop on roof and blow roof in, but Rav no think Palo able to tell subtleties of plan to eagle she summon..." He eyes Relas. "Palo have trouble 'splaining things to Relas and Rav, and we think better than eagle."

"W-well, I mean that could work too but...you're right, I don't usually work with summoning other creatures very much. Why would I when I've got Relas?"

She frowns, as if realizing something new. "But sometimes Relas takes a lot of hits and I might not always be able to keep him tethered here. Then I'd have to rely on other summons...hum. I'll have to think more about that..."

Blekk nods absentmindedly, clearly not really paying attention. "Like that idea of giving Relas wings, let's do that. Hmm. Reminds me, should try and learn how to fly later. Palo, you know if this place has roof access?"

He draws a crude picture of a goblin (possibly meant to be himself? It's certainly ugly enough) and then adds huge angel wings onto it.

"If Vael can figure out way to make Vael stealthy, and Palo Stealthy, and Clappy Stealthy, and can figure out way to make Vael see in dark, and Palo see in dark, and Clappy see in dark and Blekk see in dark, then we can be stealthy. Rav is stealthy, Rav and KnickyKnack touch building, get back, no be seen."

He points to the front door. "Building only have two entrances. Front have two guards, and door almost certainly barred. Back entrance have metal gate and fence, two guards, and doors probably barred."

He looks around. "Just us, 'gainst whatever he have for defense. Klaven for sure, probably others. Klaven no longer alive, yes? Or rather, no longer think. Just do what told, no self anymore, yes? Killing them is mercy, let spirit move on to afterlife. Maybe get chance come back for better life. Lomrick evil person, kill others just to make brainless guards who murder without pity, without hesitation. If we find someone prisoner, we rescue, but people who help Lomrick be evil if no stop him. You prefer we leave? Can do that now. But if we attacking, we attacking to kill Lomrick and Klaven yes? If not, why we here?"

"You know...I actually kinda have to agree with Rav here," Palo speaks up. "The Klaven might as well be zombies and I don't see how anyone else could work for him without having at least some idea of the things he's been doing. We mainly just need to make sure we get Kaetrix's friend out alive and anyone else he might be holding prisoner - and from the sounds of it, any prisoners are probably being held underground somewhere. Am I positive about that? No, but I'd be surprised if they were being kept in the manse proper."

Shifting, "Fine the Kalaven deserve mercy but the blowing up the house could make getting down stairs potentially impossible or we could hurt those we are trying to help. I am not saying don't do I just want to make sure."

"Then let's blow a hole somewhere near one of the two entrances," Palo finally responds after thinking for a moment. "There's no telling where the stairs might be in there but at least they're not likely to be holding anyone prisoner right by one of the ways out!"

Per GM request - boot to the thread!


Sneaking up towards the rear of the Manse, away from the areas under surveillance by the klaven, the disparate group prepare for a somewhat unconventional entry into the building. Using some of the powder that Rav has convinced others to carry on his behalf, the gunslinging goblin prepares for an almighty 'boom'. Undisturbed in his preparation, Rav has the charge set in the brickwork... then, standing well back, he lights the fuse...

BOOM!!!

The explosion shakes the ground and sends a plume of smoke spiralling upwards... and from inside the building, shouting voices can be heard. Rushing in, looking to seize the initiative, the group enter a room that bears all the implements of a well-run kitchen. A stained butcher’s block rests in the center of the room, and multiple shelves and a spice rack hang along the northeast wall. The strange scent of something sour mixed with brine permeates above the smell of burning...

Coughing amidst the smoke, Palo darts into the now-opened room after Rav and Relas and draws her crossbow as they assess their options. "Looks like there's just the one way to go so we'd better hustle!" she hisses, indicating what looks to be a door to the south.

Rav shakes his head, and moves to the door, back to the wall. He uses his drawn rapier to open the door a crack to peek through.


Peering through the gap in the door to the south, Ravboom sees what is clearly a dining room - A polished hardwood table runs down the center of this room, surrounded by comfortably padded chairs. Two large, barred windows reside in the western wall with the curtains drawn, and brass light fixtures decorate the corners of the room, as well as a small chandelier hanging above the table. Two doors exit to the east, while a third leads south...

...and through the door to the south, two rat-featured men rush with swords drawn.

Rav grins like a rabid dog and begins to sing at the top of his lungs...

The last word is buried under a massive "BOOM" as the BoomGar speaks again, unloading at point blank range into the Skulk in the doorway!

A barrage of blows - ghostly weapons, crossbow bolts and iron balls from Ravboom's weapon - give the onrushing man something to think about - the ferocity of the attacks certainly cause to reconsider the fight... and when Relas bellows out his threat, it seems certain that the attacker is about to turn tail and run...

As Ravboom charges into what looks to be a dining room, Relas follows close behind but instead of heading after the klaven he instead races up to a door set in the southern wall and readies a strike should someone open the door.

"I've got this one!" he calls to the others as they pile into the kitchen and begin spilling into the dining room as well.

Following after Relas and Rav, Palo hustles into the dining room and whips around to face another door leading to the east. She levels her crossbow at the door, ready to shoot if someone comes barging through it.

Beyond the klaven at the door, Ravboom can see a large hallway with a grand set of polished hardwood stairs rising to a second floor above. Open archways lead north and south, whilst to the east there are a further two doors - both closed. And rushing down the stairs, spur rifles in their hands, two further klaven come to reinforce their compatriot...

Seeing that the bulk of the opposition seems to be trying to enter from the east, Relas turns and scoots over to the southernmost door to help Ravboom. While the klaven attempts to deal with being shot (or shot at), the eidolon attempts to take a big bite out of his leg...

Hero Points yes... Mythic Surges - I don't think so as written and tbh, that feels OP (even for Mythic!!!)...

Neither Palomia nor Relas strike with their attacks, the klaven proving a far greater challenge than the rodent-like men that fled the combat to the south... and it is down to Vael to start pushing the guards back...
