Right, which is why I was saying that we as a group should vote to pick one, unless you want us to split up (which I don't think you do, but I could be wrong).
We're not saying that they are four discrete steps in a campaign arc, we (well at least Amunet-Ra and I) are saying that each one could be a separate campaign. I am also making the arguement that we really can't afford to follow more than one of them as (I'm guessing) if we follow the events of one major plot thread, things will keep happening in the other three.
To post an example, if we were to accept her invitation to the fort and spend some time working on that plot, it's entirely reasonable that an agent of one of the sorcerer kings could steal the greater seed, and, depending on the amount of time we're dealing with the slassians, months of in game time might pass, to the point at which it could be extremely difficult or even impossible to stop whoever gained the seed from becoming a full dragon. Keep in mind this is an example, not what I'm saying WILL happen.
What I'm (and I think the others are saying, but I can't say for sure) is that we as a group should just vote and pick the option that has the most votes. It's not a perfect plan, but it is a path forward.

That's exactly what I'm saying, I want everyone to pick something -- that doesn't mean other stuff won't also happen. There will always be more than one concurrent even happening, and you have to decide which story thread is the primary one you want to focus on.

Still waiting.... and let me just emphasize again, that I've made my last post until this is resolved.
I made a post to Hamza, and he didn't reply, and then other players have made posts that assume a plot direction we haven't decided on yet.
There's nothing more for me to do until I get some consensus and forward movement here.
If I don't get that, the game ends here.
Honestly, this is just become annoying and frustrating right now, not fun, and I do this to relax, not have another source of stress in my life -- the longer this stretches out, the closer I am to just giving up on it.

You posted on Tuesday, and by Wed had posted in discussion about wanting us to pick a direction, and that until you had group consensus, were putting the game on hold.
I'm sorry I haven't replied yet. I've been busy IRL, as I have to completely rearrange my basement as I'm getting a brand new sleeper couch and the old, incredibly heavy one needs to be removed.
Been also helping my mom outside all week, as we've had gorgeous weather.
As for the game, maybe it would be best if you put it on hold. While I do love the game, the world you've created, and my PC, it seems you are in fact rather stressed out.
Not only with this game, but the interest check you were running also seemed to have cause you unnecessary aggravation. Which is unfortunate, as I was pretty hyped for a Tian-Xia Hobogoblin domination game.
If all of this is causing you too much stress, on top of everything you're dealing with your IRL job, perhaps we all need a break?
Hamza Mīnakshi
Apologies for not yet voting. My weekend was hella busy as I had to temporarily rearrange my basement as I had a brand new couch delivered today along with the old one being removed.
Give me some time to catch up on some other stuff, and I will let you know what I think we should do. I also need to re-read over all the options before voting.
Hamza Mīnakshi
In character, Hamza would be most interested in option 2 and 3, though I am unsure if he actually has in game knowledge of those things.
It's entirely possible he could accomplish 2 on his own, especially since I still have my badass familiar to aid me, even if the player has left the game.
Raam is his adopted city, and he is actually an insurrectionist within Raam(he has the trait of the same name) and of course, is one of the assassins Seb mentioned.
However, does he even know about the Orb or the machinations of Dregoth in game??
Sebecloki
Well, they've already encountered the dray -- Hamza spoke to one in the tunnels of the kreen tomb (that was the group of dray disguised as a Nibenay delegation), and he's aware that the Master of the Aerie let through a group of dray into the ruins, and probably he's also aware of the stirrings of the Cult of the Endless Gray through his contacts in the criminal underworld of Raam.
Some of this I'm just telling you the plot since I think people are loosing track of some of the details from over a year ago -- the whole bit with the 'greater seed' only Rokan will know anything about from Faalcuun in-game. People could do knowledge checks for some of this.
Did everyone post their stats yet for the bench-pressing comparison yet?
Honestly, these characters are strong enough they can probably just do separate stories if they want to -- does anyone actually have any interest in splitting up to pursue the story-line they're most interested in?
Narzor
I'm fine with staying with the group for now. Narzor sees them as a good conduit to learn more about the current state of the world.
Oh, and that b@#$h insulted Orcus. He'll kill her for it, just not yet.

Depending on what we choose, Rokan can give a summary post from his in-character knowledge as it helps the others (assuming an option from his original time wins).

Afraid not, let me give it a look... I'm not fully grok'ing EDV on a *quick scan*, so I'll give it a more thorough read in the next couple of days.

Would prefer not, honestly.
Amunet-Ra
I'm completely fine with a majority decision which way we go,as I said.
4 interests me most, but all are fine.
Going solo is not a good idea in my opinion.
Cae Leonidas
(1) is good by me.
As for the chart, I'm not certain what to do with it. Cae is well into blue on most categories for a L12 character.
Amunet-Ra
Are we moving on with this?
I guess we are pretty decided on option 1.
I'll try to find some time to compare to the chart, but time is sparse at the moment.
Most likely Amunet-Ra is on the higher side at most things.

I'll get a post up on Monday -- there's a huge COVID outbreak in my state and I'm working tons of overtime in the Microlab to get the swabs ready for testing; the workload has doubled or tripled.
Everyone, let me know if it will solve things to set the 'bench march' at like lv. 13, 14, 15, 16, etc. to have a standard for everyone, instead of lv. 12. We just need to figure out where we need to build to, it can be higher than lv. 12 on the table if it has to be.
Amunet-Ra
Uh stay safe!
Just decide a level, 12 is probably good.

Hello all. This is an FYI that I will be in the wilderness and away from computers (and so unable to post) starting this Thursday morning (7/9) and returning Sunday evening (7/12), in US/Pacific time.

Everyone, my schedule the last few days has been 14 hrs, 14hrs, and then I am doing 12 hrs, 12 hrs, Saturday and Sunday, and then 6 more hours in the afternoon on Monday, and I have to finish writing a final project for a communication class this weekend. I have Tuesday, Wens, and Thursday off when I should be able to catch stuff up if I can't steal a second during downtime at work to update.
Rokan the Ascetic
No worries. I'd hate for you to take extra stress from the game with shifts like that going on.
Rokan the Ascetic
Sorry to hear, here's hoping people get smart so you can get some reprieve. Stay safe.
Rokan the Ascetic
Well, I presume she needed to lead us in. Rokan scoped out the exit points before being led in, so yes, I believe that's it for outside of her compound.
Monkeygod
Well, that works out, as Ct got hit hard by the tropical storm yesterday and we've been without power since around 4pm on Tues. Unsure when it's supposed to be restored, and I'm currently in a hotel with my puppers. My mom and grandmother are in a room down the hall.

I'm still working on getting the new computer set up -- this one has a hmdi port, which is a new technology for me. None of my monitors worked w/ it, so I bought an adapter, which came this evening, but apparently it's not the right kind of adapter. So I went ahead and got an hmdi monitor, which will be here Saturday, and then hopefully I can get everything moved over.

Hello!
I'll be away from computers without the ability to post:
* from Friday 8/14
* returning Sunday evening (US/Pacific time) 8/16
Feel free to bot me during that time. I will likely catch up on returning Sunday evening.
Sebecloki
Everyone, I'm still here, but I'm just dead tired -- I've been coming in doing 12-16 hour days since last Friday. However, I am going to have M, T, Weds off coming up, so I should be able to get this back on track starting next week.
I wanted to share a test output of my new fancy computer, where I'm working on a map of the Kalidnay upper city. The Upper City. I am now able to do huge images that I wasn't able to do on the old device.

Okay, good people, I'm finally done with my 85.7 hour week and I'm trying to get back into my games; I honestly was dead tired the beginning of this week.
I've been fiddling around a bit with what my new device can do, and it is impressive.
I'm still downloading thousands of files onto the new beast of a desktop, but I want to try to move forward.
I fiddled around a bit with the design of the House Nicephorus Compound, which I'll describe now.

Traveling this weekend. Planning to catch up on the new posts tonight.
Hamza Mīnakshi
Am I misunderstanding something here in this description, or can you not really control where you end up?
Quote:
Because of the blurring of reality between the Plane of Shadow and the Material Plane, you can't make out details of the terrain or areas you pass over during transit, nor can you predict perfectly where your travel will end. It's impossible to judge distances accurately, making the spell virtually useless for scouting or spying. Furthermore, when the spell effect ends, you are shunted 1d10 × 100 feet in a random horizontal direction from your desired endpoint. If this would place you within a solid object, you are shunted 1d10 × 1,000 feet in the same direction. If this would still place you within a solid object, you (and any creatures with you) are shunted to the nearest empty space available, but the strain of this activity renders each creature fatigued (no save).
I always took this to mean you can travel to the general area you wanted. Hamza wants to get near the main citadel, bypassing any defenses in between the outer wall and the fortress.
Sebecloki
"It's impossible to judge distances accurately, making the spell virtually useless for scouting or spying."
What do you make of the mechanical implications of that? To me, it sounds like you can go in a general direction, but that I basically decide where specifically you end up, and it might be somewhere unpleasant.
Jimbli Willit
I think because ("you can't make out details of the terrain or areas you pass over during transit") it means lingering in the Plane of Shadow to spy or scout on the Prime Material is not effective.

This is basically how I saw it as well.

I need to leave some room for the other members of the party to question
Lady Arsione.
Hamza Mīnakshi
"you are shunted 1d10 × 100 feet in a random horizontal direction from your desired endpoint"
what about that point?
At worst, I end up 1000ft from where I want to be. I am under the impression this fortress is **massive** so 1000ft off isn't that big a deal.
If it's much smaller than that, and 1000ft is actually a big distance from my destination, then perhaps I'll use a different teleport effect.
