The convenience allows me to take it with me and jot up responses whenever I have a moment. Otherwise, I have to wait till 8pm. My wife doesn't like that. Plus, when I am sick I do it in bed like I was yesterday. My wife has me on a detoxing diet and you have no idea what came out of me, and is coming out of me.
Here are some I found:Link
Also, you might want at look at a chrome book which are like laptops with less off line uses.
Good luck with the detox :)

I think a cloudbook would be fine but they seem just as much as th elaptops.

Shall I push forward, because now would be a time to let me know what you'd like to do to prepare.
Female Suli INACTIVE - GAME DIED
I don't think I have any major preparations to make, except maybe getting a cheap missile weapon (like a sling).
male Human Void Pact Wizard 7
Neither. Spells are prepared.

I've been thinking. It's a dangerous pastime, I know. Anyway, here's an idea I'm exploring. Since genies have to do with wishes and mangling fate I thought it would be fun to incorporate some randomness to the game. Would you be against using the Harrow deck? What I would like to try is to give the PCs a chance to get lucky.
They draw a card. We'll likely have to roll, but that card is associated with an attribute and an alignment. If the alignment matches 100% there is a great bonus to the associated attribute for a time period, likely an hour or a day. If they match only like 50% then it's a weaker bonus. But what if they don't match at all? Then it's a penalty.
Here, like this.
For a true alignment (100% match) a +6
An alignment (50% match) +4
And misaligned (0%) -2
Would you like this?
Anyway, it wouldn't be them actually drawing a card, it's more like their lucky star is in alignment. Know what I mean? It's more astrology than tarot, we're just using tarot to represent astrology.
M Human Paladin (sacred servant) 1, Perception +2; AC 17; Init+0; HP 12/12; Fort+4; Ref+0; Will+5; Longsword +3(+4/smite) (1d8 +2/19-20 x2)
Sounds sweet, also means I'd be able to cackle that the stars are right.
male Human Void Pact Wizard 7
Fine by me but I reserve the right to complain about it :)
Female Half Elf Sorcerer 1 (Arcane Bloodline), Perception+7; Init+8; AC 12; HP 8/8; Fort +2, Ref +2, Will +2; Crossbow +2 (1d8/x2);
I'm all for using the Harrow Deck.
Female Suli INACTIVE - GAME DIED
Ok... I mean, I'll get screwed by additional randomness, but since I will get screwed by the dice anyway, shouldn't make much difference!

Slightly but it's kinda funny, just hope we start making progress soon, wouldn't want to waste a week rescuing a goat.

Lark Baker wrote: Slightly but it's kinda funny, just hope we start making progress soon, wouldn't want to waste a week rescuing a goat. Me too. However, look at the math of the rolling. The only way to succeed is to get both d20 rolls totaling 20 or over. It's not impossible, but likely improbable.

I agree, though I was of the understanding that we were advancing slowly?

Lark Baker wrote: I agree, though I was of the understanding that we were advancing slowly? Very slowly. To say that you weren't would leave you with the impression that there's an impenetrable wall of cactuses and that's sort of not true. There's a path and it's possible for any of you to make it to Rombard safely. The problem is that something has stolen your mojo and that's making getting to your destination more than just a little difficult. For every distance ventured the bad luck aura misdirects you making your ability to traverse the ground and get the goat like taking 3 steps forward and then 2.9 steps back and / or in the wrong direction.
It sucks. The pugwampis are putting you in a position where both your solutions can suck.

Yeah, you're supposed to wanting some serious hate for these things.

Well that went from annoying to life threatening fast.
I will be on the road Tuesday – Thursday please feel free to bot me as necessary. I do not foresee having any problems posting. However, tomorrow is going to be an 18 hour day and I might just hit the sack when I get to my hotel.
THE MAP , The Wardens
I thought initiative was a straight forward but you're used to something different. I'm glad I asked since I have yet to play in one. The Runelords adventure keeps getting stalled from Missing GM syndrome.
Anyway, how do I determine the init for each party? Meaning, do I roll it for you or is it an average? And if there are different groups of enemies do they get inits all their own?
There are different ways, average party or highest party member. Some use a hybrid and roll imitative for everyone and run it like this:
Initative Rolls:
player 1 (init. 20)
player 2 (init 18)
Bad guys (Init 16)
Player 3 (Init 10)
Player 4 (Init 8)
Player 5 (Init 3)
Round 1:
Player 1 & 2 May act.
When they have posted the GM posts the bad guys actions.
After this everyone can post including player 1 and 2.
Then the bad guys post.
then all the players.
really anything that does not require players to wait on another player to post really helps speed things up and keep things going. Now this also requires a little flexibility because some actions may be negated by another persons action. For example two players may attack the bad guy and the first one killed it as GM you would have to determine who the second player attacked or how he used his actions.
Here is an example of how it works in another game I am in.
Example

So it's something like I do, a little. Sure. I'm open for a vote to how you'd like me to do this if it would make things faster and easier.
The biggest difference is calling out who may act at the end of the post and players not having to wait for other players to post. It's your game so you should go with what you prefer. That being said I prefer the method shown in the example I posted.

Nevermind, went back and read the previous pages. Let me run it by you to see if I got everything right.

4 Professional soldiers, some sort of honor guard?

I just assumed we'd play like how it would be done over tabletop.

I'm going to be off for a little bit. The ISP of the area is replacing cables. Apparently, we are not getting the speed we've been promised.
