Slumper:
You learn pretty quick that the previous owner of All the World's Meat was arrested for tax evasion and died in prison, heirless. The shop is in probate, which means it's been sitting boarded up for some time. The gang that's moved in there calls itself the Cow Hammer Boys and they've been giving out free meat since the riots started, which has made them very popular among the locals.

Corbyn:
Watching the shop reveals that the shop is very busy during daylight, when locals show up empty handed and leave happy with cuts of meat in butcher's paper. Given that the markets are shut down and trade in and out of the city is on hold, meat is a scarce commodity. The building itself is a small storefront, with a second story attached to a larger butcher's shop. You've got a description of Verik Vancaskerkin, but you never see him come in and out of the shop, just four guys with military bearing. You've nicknamed them for their most prominent features: Eyebrows, Fatso, Big Guy and Skittish.

Try as they might, Brim and Paxs find little purchase with the local population. Perhaps their manner is too gruff or their questions too pointed, but the matter of All the World's Meat seems to cause the locals to clam up as soon as they begin to speak.

NPCing Jeb: Diplomacy: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (20) + 6 = 26

Jeb hits paydirt, finding a squirrelly man who claims that the Cow Hammer Boys also work as mercenaries from time to time. "They take care o' problems, final-like." He tells you that you can hire them by using the codephrase "I'm here to ask about the evening's special."

The map of All the World's Meat is up at Roll20. You can see what the place looks like. From the outside, it seems a simple storefront. Inside the shop, 2 men wait the counter, looking somewhat soldierly in their bearing.

Bonekeep Slides

Okay, moving right along.

After a great deal of discussion, you head over to the butcher's shop. A sign bearing the image of a fat, smiling cow hangs above the entrance to this shop. Inside, a long counter runs over half the room’s width, beyond which a door stands ajar. A low bench sits against the east wall, while to the north a marble-topped table displays cuts of meat before a wide, grimy window. A few flies crawl and circle in the air above the meat. two men, one tall with bushy eyebrows and a flat nose, the other fat with chainmail that strains over his ample frame, lounge behind the counter, idly waving at the flies. When you walk in, a lovely young woman walks out, holding a bag of meat and smiling prettily.

The two men look at you with appraising eyes, their smiles fading into frowns. "Oy, you lot ain't locals! What's yer business and quick about it, before I send you out of her with me boot!"

The two men exchange a glance before their demeanor change from surly to business-like. The fat man nods to the bushy eye-browed one, who goes to the door and locks it, changing the sign from open to closed.

The fat man clears his throat. "Alright, here's the deal. 50 gp per mark, paid up front. We give 'em what for, making sure they won't be causin' you no more problems. After we visit 'em, they won't be problems no more. We ever take care of any leftovers, if you know what I mean!" The fat man begins laughing, while Eye Brows chuckles quietly.

"So, who's the mark?"
