Lorick Dreck |

Vegan Police <-> Guild of Barbarian representative. It's not the best reference I admit. But that's what came to mind.
Also Lorick is kinda hanging in mid air. His other two actions depend on what the heck is going on. Do you think he can get free damage for landing on Lamm?

DM Unchained |

I'll be honest: going down there on your own is a low-Wisdom move.
That doesn't mean you shouldn't do it, or that it's not perfectly in character for Lorick given his enraged state. I'm just trying to present the facts so nobody hunts me down later for what I've put them through that everyone is clear.

Currently, Am I in range to attack anyone?

Currently, Am I in range to attack anyone?
Yup. Ladzlo and Davor are in your threatened area.
Hrm. Actually. Can Lorick kick the same switch Lamm kicked to bring the contraption back up?
Nope. Throne dropped down and swung away - you'd have to grab it and lift it back up; and it weighs a fair bit. It's not a one-round action, specially for one person. It was Lamm's emergency exit; he didn't give a lot of thought to re-setting it once it was triggered.

Juliet D'Artangen |

Man there's ten smarter things Lorick could have done. Sorry guys :|
Ruh Roh!
I'm just sorry I'm in no shape to help. Post incoming...

Juliet D'Artangen |

Heh, I may just do you a favor and resolve you of that duty, depending on how the dice go next round :P
If Juliet makes it, she's got a CMW and one cure should get her back on her feet enough to get after Lamm.

Lovely, DMU. I almost felt bad for ole Ladzlo, until I remembered, hey, I hate that guy!
Now just to pull Lorick from the fire.

DM Unchained |

Xenia: just realised you had two sets of actions in Round 3: Color Spray, and then passing the bag to Sia.
You've therefore used your actions for Round 4. Please don't post any actions until Round 5.
@Everyone: please don't post actions out of sequence. Dialogue, internal monologue, roleplay - yes, absolutely, go ahead. Just not actions. It can really screw things up.

Lorick Dreck |

I've got two actions left in my round. I held off as I needed to know what is in the pit to finish my acts. Do you disagree?
Thanks for giving me the option of a retcon but it'd be too confusing. I just really hope Sia doesn't die, that'd be worse for Lorick than him dying :|

Missed that. I'll hold off on Round 4 and get you a description shortly. I'll need to reread the RAE rules to see if jumping down is an additional action, but you've got at least one action available.
I just really hope Sia doesn't die, that'd be worse for Lorick than him dying :|
I know.
I have to say, it's not looking good: so far I've rolled a 1, a 3 and now a 2 on her Fortitude saves! The problem is that the further you progress down the poison track, the worse the modifier gets; she was on -2 and will be on -4 next turn.
I love the Unchained disease and poison rules, but I hadn't fully grasped how lethal they are. If that stiletto had gone into one of you rather than Sia, we'd likely be looking at yet another PC fatality...
At the end of this module I'm going to make a serious reassessment of which Unchained rules we keep - assuming that you all want to proceed, of course.

Sorry about posting out of order. Xenia is going to try to heal Sai and Juliet by handing the CMW to Juliet then dumping the other potions down Sai's throat. Won't be able to post until tonight though in case we get that far.

Tyenar "Whisper" Checkeredpage |

Amazingly, even with Davor blinded and stunned, Tyenar manages to miss the half-orc with each attack.
Aaaaaaaaaaaah, Tyenar is being really useless this fight: at least we know he has at least 17 AC if he has 10 points in DEX <.<
And yeah, it doesn't look like Sia is doing very well down there: maybe it's not a lethal poison, tough!

I'm not giving too much away, but yeah: Mithral breastplate, Deflection 1, Armour Attunement 1 (yep, the bad guys get these bonuses too!), and a buckler.
Don't worry, all these goodies will be yours very soon!
Assuming you survive of course.

Uhm...if Lorick still has an action, I'm fairly sure I could get to the Throne and throw him a rope to help him climb back up. Silk ropes, f%~# yeah!

Believe in the power of love and friendship!
Oh, wait, that's not this game. Uh...
Believe in the power of heavy drug use and questionable morals!
Ha! You crack me up, Evelyn.

Silk ropes don't see enough play, imo.

So, bad guys are up?

My 2¢:
I like the poison and disease rules. They make both things scary - and they should be.
I like automatic bonus progression.
I like background skills.
I dislike limited spellcasting. Too much of a nerf, in my opinion.
Everything else is OK.

Evelyn Gertruade deGrey |

I like poison and disease. I doubt care much for ABP either way. Background skills are fine. I don't think it's fair if I make a call on magic. I don't like the altered action economy that much, though.

Tyenar "Whisper" Checkeredpage |

Sorry for the late post:I'm visiting some relatives in Germany this weekend and can only post from phone.

DM Unchained |

Gotcha, thanks.
And as far as keeping Unchained rules goes, I'm thinking of ditching both limited magic (which means overclocking and esoteric components go too) and RAE.
I like the automatic bonus progression as it lets me focus on interesting magic items and not have to worry about handing out belts of this or headbands of the other, so I'm planning to keep it.
I'll probably keep the diseases and poisons Unchained, as they work more realistically than the old rules; but I might tone down the save DCs a bit to make them less autokill.
I think Background skills are the wrong fix to a real problem: instead of arbitrarily dividing up skills into Background & Adventuring skills, I'd be more inclined just to give everyone 2 extra skill points a level and be done with it. I like the new Artistry and Lore skills, so they would stay.
Unchained classes/Stamina/Scaling magic items/Alternate crafting & profession rules/skill unlocks/Variant Multi-Classing/Dynamic magic item creation would all stay.

![]() |

I really do not know all the rules. I have to say that I like the Automatic Bonus Progression as it limits magic items, but allows fun items, rather than just stat buffing items.
I do not know the poison/disease rules, but find that most of the time, poison and disease are pretty weak in regular PF. I am also good with the extra 2 skill points (since I am playing a 2 skill point class, it will be nice to double her skill points).
And, the magic is definitely nerfed with this system. There are probably ways to balance/modify it, but this definitely does not seem like the best way.

Tyenar "Whisper" Checkeredpage |

My stances on Limited Magic are the same I had about a year ago, so I'm okay with it going away. RAE looked fun, but admittedly I've only seen it in action in a couple of battles: what didn't convince you?
About the Poison rules (still bummed I can't use them :(), I'd advise to tone down the severity/DCs of the ones that monster have: while the ones available to the players are notorious for being crappy and overcosted, those that monsters have are jacked up to make them a reasonable threat (see Sia's bad rolls vs. the Reefclaws).
PS: I'll get a discovery at the next level: do you want me to pick up Infusion? Having someone with restoration in the party could help, I think (even if it's two level from now).
