Marlani and Gareth are Dazed, for this first round.
Lorald's first arrow misses but the second hits and the woman shrieks in agony.
AC 20; F+9, R+10, W+9
"You monsters!" she cries. She makes a gesture sweeping up and the vegetation in the room rises to her defense. Entangle DC 15
She moves away from you towards the far window.
Since she is unable to renew her dance the dazed effect ends.
Gareth is still dazed for that first round.
Round 2:
Marlani, Natalya and Lorald are free to act. The room is 30 ft wide and she's on the other side. The furniture doesn't provide much of a hindrance, and there's only one of her so there's little need for a map. Don't forget the Entangle.

Lorald Orlovsky |

He reloads and sends another volley at the fey. Along with a more verbal response.
"You try to dominate our will with your magic and are surprised we take offense. If that is what you consider a person, I prefer being a monster."
Rapid Cold Iron Shot vs AC 20: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (1) + 12 = 131d10 + 4 ⇒ (4) + 4 = 8
Rapid Cold Iron Shot vs AC 20: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (13) + 12 = 251d10 + 4 ⇒ (4) + 4 = 8
Reflex Save vs DC 15: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (13) + 9 = 22
Fumble (Overcompensate): 1d52 ⇒ 22
Lorald avoids the plants trying to grab at him with ease. He seems to be more focused then normal on the fey but it seems to have no effect on his abilities for the moment.
The fumble only effects those with cover against Lorald so dodged the penalties on that one. ;)

Natalya Artemisa |

reflex save DC15: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (15) + 5 = 20
Deftly avoiding the vines seeking to snake around her feet, Natalya dances around the writhing plants as she makes her way towards the lady, grim expression on her face and greatsword held ready to strike.
With all the vegetation underfoot however she is only able to close 20 feet in the time she has.

![]() |

Another iron bolt slams into the Dancing Lady, the weapon writhes in her flesh and burns the skin. "You will die a peasant's death!" she screams.
She moves towards Natalya he fingernails, once lovely, polished gems elongating into talons. Natlaya evades her slashes however.
Gareth is no longer dazed, what do you do?

Natalya Artemisa |

Natalya dodges the swipe from the wretched fey, and brings her blade around in a wide arc, intending to make the dancing lady the anvil to her sword's hammer
greatsword PA: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (11) + 6 = 17
slashing: 2d6 + 12 ⇒ (3, 6) + 12 = 21

Lorald Orlovsky |

Lorald snorts as he reloads.
"It takes more then birth to be noble. From what I can see, your less then a so called peasant."
He fires another volley of cold iron.
Rapid Cold Iron Shot vs AC 20: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (16) + 12 = 281d10 + 4 ⇒ (1) + 4 = 5
Rapid Cold Iron Shot vs AC 20: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (12) + 12 = 241d10 + 4 ⇒ (1) + 4 = 5
I guess if it's not a fumble it's a low damage roll. -.-

![]() |

Natalya's greatsword slashes, and clears a swathe of vines off the wall behind the Dancing Lady.
Two more of Lorald's bolts slam home, bloodying her.
She slashes out with her claws, missing, but then she lunges forward and grabs a chunk of Natalya's arm in her teeth. 5 damage She spits out the bits of flesh, dark blood running down her chin. "Foul!"[/] she says. [b]"Foul of form and foul of flesh," she says.
Back to you guys.

Lorald Orlovsky |

"Truly I could never understand you."
He unleashes another volley.
Rapid Cold Iron Shot vs AC 20: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (14) + 12 = 261d10 + 4 ⇒ (10) + 4 = 14
Rapid Cold Iron Shot vs AC 20: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (2) + 12 = 141d10 + 4 ⇒ (2) + 4 = 6
Finally some good damage. :)

Natalya Artemisa |

Hissing in pain at the ragged wounds left by the Lady's claws, and having missed when she thought her last blow certain to land, Natalya realises she's going to have to be more accurate with her attacks. She hesitates, waiting for the right moment, then when Lorald's bolts slam home her sword lashes out with the speed of a viper.

Natalya slashes The Dancing Lady with a mighty cut and she falls back. With her last breath she spits"May your strength withar and fail you" Then she lets out her dying breath.
Natalya feels an intense pain, like a punch to the chest. Make a DC 19 Will save, this is not mind affecting, not disease and not positive energy.

Natalya Artemisa |

will: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (1) + 4 = 5
Natalya leans heavily on the wall, sword dangling from one hand as the mystic force contained in the Lady's last words swirls around the dhampir.

Natalya Artemisa |

I feel so..drained...
Natalya collapses to the floor, the weight of her gear and armor suddenly doubled. Her hand shakes as it reaches out to grab the hilt of her sword, and she drags more than lifts it back towards her, using it as a support to unsteadily get back to her feet.
I think I'd like to return to Freewater if it's all the same to everyone else. Might be an idea to resupply anyway
she struggles to the nearest surface to sit and rest
I'll just use my eyes if you don;t mind Lorald, you can fill the sacks with anything of use we find here.
she looks around, her face a porcelain mask of emotion barely held in check.
perception: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (5) + 8 = 13

Lorald Orlovsky |

"I agree we should head back. Not only for some much needed rest and news. But it would not do well to stay out in the wilderness to long without keeping to our duties."
He will search the place for anything of value to take with them. Then help Natalya.
Loot list please, we have time to take 20 on perception. :)

The Lady's chamber is a gallery of treasures.
The life-sized elven statue is quite valuable, but weighs 500 pounds.
Mwk lap harp (small 3 pound version)
small jade statue of a coiling snake
filigreed elven water clock is also quite valuable but weighs at least 200 pounds
the snow white bearskin coverlet is probably quite valuable
the wooden wardrobe contains two 'royal' outfits, three 'courtiers' outfits and several other once-expensive outfits that
have since been stained with blood.
the jewelry box contains three vials of expensive perfume, a gem-studded tiara and what appears to be a magic potion
a nearby chest also contains plain leather sacks with 10pp, 581gp and 431sp, and several gems, potions and scrolls
I assume you'll be back for the larger treasures later, you bundle up all the easily movable stuff and head on your way back to Freewater.

Natalya Artemisa |

Natalya, though still adjusting to her diminished strength, has adjusted somewhat now, and helps organise the party's treasures in to the saddlebags on the horses.
Later, as they make their way back to Freewater, she asks Lorald
Have you ever come across a circumstance where a Fey deathcurse struck someone? Her dying words lie like chains upon me, the weight of them...am I best off seeking help with a magician or a priest?
she looks concerned, her usual assertiveness and confidence appears to have deserted her along with her strength.

Lorald Orlovsky |

"Personally no, I have seen more fey during our travels then ever before. I know how to kill them efficiently but little else. Were I in your place I would not limit myself in seeking aid. I would consult a priest first simply because their god blessed healing rarely fails. But if it does then a sage mage would not be a bad choice, if nothing else they may have knowledge of the condition and a way to cure it if not with in their own abilities."

Zartana |

Lorald tries his hand at tracking the tree in the area before the ruin and below the dryad.
Perception: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (11) + 11 = 22

The hex to the direct right of the ruin is the only unexplored south hex without going lower. So starting there I guess.

The drow also tries to aid in the search and track. Even if she doesnt know what they are looking for exactly

Natalya Artemisa |

Ah Miyuki, tis a fiendish tree of the most evil intent, seeking to sup on the fey flesh of a dryad we happened upon. Her and her satyr lover could not vanquish it themselves, and asked for our aid in return for their becoming friends of Emermark. Truly it is the kind of romantic story bards sing long ballads of!
she winks at the First Lady of Emermark.
Zartana, we have yet to meet it in the flesh, or bark rather, the dryad described it as a 'scythe tree', I have never heard of such but imagine a walking tree with vicious branches...
she contemplates what tracks such a creature might leave.
perception (aid another): 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (6) + 8 = 14
survival (aid another): 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (5) + 4 = 9 ...and this is what happens when you give up on the path of a ranger...stop punishing me oh survival dice!! ;p
she spends the day scouting and reporting back to the trailblazer of the group with the things she spots.

![]() |

Miyuki has heard of such wicked and carnivorous plants but is unfamiliar with this particular type of plant.
With great skill you track the beast to an area southeast of Tiressas's glade. The area is blighted and rotten. The sweet stench of decay hangs thick in this woodland clearing. Knotted branches of sickly trees line the perimeter, creating a thick canopy that blocks most of the sunlight and cloaks the hollow in shadow. Withered vegetation struggles to grow in ragged clumps among the multitude of bones strewn across the forest floor.
You're fairly certain the creature is somewhere nearby.

Zartana |

"Well. If someone can produce a flame, id be happy to pelt it with fire arrows if we do encounter it" she offers
-Posted with Wayfinder

Zartana |

"Perfect. We should give it a nasty burn." she grins

Natalya Artemisa |

What a horrid creature, to have done this to the woods... glares Natalya
I have no flame, but I trust to my sword to be as sharp as a woodman's axe when the time comes!

![]() |

The wind begins to waft through the trees and only too late do you realise only one tree is being affected. Before you can act a single tree with a green-brown trunk and long, slender willow-type branches lunges towards you.
As the branches begin to flail about it becomes clear they are tipped with hard sharp thorns that whip through the air... like scythes!
With a reach of 20 feet the tree slashes out at Zartana. Two miss and one hits, slashing her for 14 damage.
Initiative
Group A: Zartana, Jenya, Natalya, Lorald and anyone i might have missed.
The Scythe Tree :(
Group B: Miyuki
No need for a map since this is a single opponent in an open clearing.
Scythe tree has AC 19 (17 this round because of lunge), F+9, R+4, W+4
It has 15ft reach.
Go! Go! Go! Kill a Tree!

Lorald Orlovsky |

Lorald had loaded one of two special fire bolts he had ordered a while back on his second shot.
"I have alchemist fire, it's the red flask with pointed top."
He fires a volley at the tree.
Rapid Shot vs AC 17: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (4) + 9 = 131d10 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4
Rapid Fire Shot vs AC 17: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (8) + 9 = 171d10 + 1 + 1d4 ⇒ (5) + 1 + (3) = 9
Add +1 to atk/dmg if with in 30 ft. Feel free to pick up a alchy fire I have 5, retrieving them is a move action thanks to my bandolier. I should have gotten more fire bolts before we left. xP
Edit- I see the dice want me to suck while that AC is reduced. -.-

Natalya Artemisa |

With Lorald's volley unleashed, Natalya runs to the tree's side, out of the line of sight for anyone else using a ranged weapon. She braces herself in case its lashing branches tore at her before she moved in to striking range. Once next to the tree she grins wolfishly, holding her sword high and swinging it in a wide arc at the tree's base, just like a woodcutter might...
2h greatsword PA: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (16) + 6 = 22
slashing: 2d6 + 12 ⇒ (1, 3) + 12 = 16
Feeling a satisfying *thunk* as her blade chops deeply in to the bark, she wrenches it free and adopts a guard position.

Jenya P. |

Hells but that thing is long Jenya yells as she five foot steps to get to 20 feet and shoots it.
Point blank deadly aim shot on touch: 1d20 + 10 + 1 - 2 ⇒ (19) + 10 + 1 - 2 = 281d8 + 1 + 4 + 1d6 ⇒ (6) + 1 + 4 + (3) = 14

Zartana |

"Light my arrow while i aim"
She takes aim

One of Lorald's bolts hits the tree. But it lodges in the bard, and seems to leave no lasting mark DR 10/Slashing
As Natalya runs under the branches they slash at her back, raking her for 12 damage. Her mighty swing takes chunk out of the trunk at the base. The trees howls in rage and pain.
Jenya fires her weapon, but the bullet barely does any damage to the thick bark. (DR)
Zartana lines up her shot in preparation.
On it's turn the tree lashes out with it's branches at Natalya but is unable to slash her.
Miyuki, you are up!

Natalya Artemisa |

Snarling at the red hot feeling gashes across her back, Natalya winds up for another massive blow against the evil tree.
2h greatsword PA: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (4) + 6 = 10
The blow goes wide as the tree's whipping branches interfere with her swing.
Wolf appears from nowhere, flashing across the forest floor from behind the tree and savaging the bark with his teeth.
bite: 1d20 + 5 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 5 + 2 = 10 Flank
His teeth find no purchase on the tough bark however...
Status: hp 26/38

Lorald Orlovsky |

Seeing the bolt itself do little damage and only the fire eat away at the flesh of the tree Lorald prepares his last fire bolt and takes his time even if his first instinct is to unleash enough bolts to turn the tree into a pin cushion.

ok, the fire damage from Lorald's shot is doubled.

Round 2
Natalya and her friend harry the tree, but... it's a tree. It doesn't care.
Lorald's fire bolt explodes on the tree's back, but sadly does very little damage, as the combustible material partially fails to ignite.
Others?

Carter Ma'Anubis |

Carter, having been in jackal form and taken his mighty meds as they entered the swamp swallows down a spicy red potion.
His belly balloons out slightly and glows orange underneath the white bandages.
He stays out of the tree's reach for right this moment.
