@Lorald. OK, when I went back and looked at your rolls I mistakenly looked at the damage numbers, not the attacks. So one bolt (readied attack precludes rapid shot because rapid shot is a full attack) hits. It hits and the creature shrieks a high pitched scream, but the wound does not deem to do as much damage as you might otherwise expect.
Swearing fiercely in Aklo the quickling comes around the south side of the tower directly at Lorald.
Fast as he is the creature has a huge reflex save and drops his weapon rather than be burned by Natalya's spell, but he is now disarmed.
Marlani casts her suggestion but the creature just flips her off.
Gareth's glitter canon hits everyone within range, including party members, so everyone make a will save. The quickling is blinded by the effect, however.
Traveling at 13 miles per hour the creature is blinded and disarmed, barreling towards Lorald.
Lorald. I'm going to assume you readied an action to attack the quickling. So first make a will save vs Gareth's fabulous blinding effect. If you pass that make a 20% miss chance, because glitterdust imposes a penalty on stealth, but does not cancel the blur effect of the quickling's supernatural speed. Then make your attack.
From there we'll see what happens next.
(Ah) My girl
Got a new boyfriend
Yeah
Yeah (Oh)

Hah! Take that pesty golden sparkles! I'm no Twilight-clone!!
Sorry couldn't resist ;p
Gareth de Lockhart
The quickling is also covered with glittery dust that negates his invisibility. I am not sure if the miss chance is from the blur, however.
Lorald Orlovsky
Sorry classes killing me right now. Forgot to post. >.<
Lorald steels himself but does not flinch or falter, unleashing another volley on the mad fey. It would learn he was not to be tested and indeed feared.
Miss Chance DC 20: 1d100 ⇒ 53
Rapid Shot Cold Iron: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (12) + 12 = 241d10 + 4 ⇒ (2) + 4 = 6
Rapid Shot Cold Iron: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (18) + 12 = 301d10 + 4 ⇒ (2) + 4 = 6
Edit- Is it to much to ask that I roll a 5 or higher on damage ever so often. -.-

Lorald hits, but read my lips, you cannot ready a rapid shot. ;)
The bolt hits the quickling, who screeches from the contact of the cold iron. The quickling in turn barrels into Lorald like a cannonball. Lorald takes 2 damage as the creature falls to the ground at his feet.
The quickling unleashes a terrible shriek that pierces Lorald's ears. DC 13 fort save, 17 damage, 8 damage if successful save.
At which point you would all get your regular turns, the quickling is blinded, prone and disarmed at Lorald's feet.

the quickling is blinded, prone and disarmed at Lorald's feet.[/url]
So, in other words, the date is going well.
Lorald Orlovsky
It seemed his keen senses betrayed him this time around, the noise shakes his very bones but he remains focused and standing. Lorald takes a step back bring his crossbow on the prone little fool and fires another round.
Fort DC 13: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (4) + 8 = 12

Five foot step back and attack. HP 24/43
Natalya Artemisa
Sword still out, Natalya contemplates switching to her bow, but bloodlust prevails and she slogs across the ground in an agonisingly slow manner, intent on getting within arm's length of the creature.
Blasted difficult terrain!
Wolf, being both more nimble and quicker on his paws, manages to close the distance completely, but not with time to spare to nip the fey as well. He eagerly awaits the thing trying to get up from its current position.

The quickling shrieks vile curses in Aklo as Lorald pounds two cold iron arrows into it.
The quickling shakes it's head and stands, disappearing in a blur of motion as it tears off. it's sword also disappears from the ground as the creature vanishes behind the curve of the tower.
Here is where you can prepare your actions for the next turn.
Gareth de Lockhart
"I have something else for you, little bastard" Gareth says through his teeth.
Prepares to cast Color Spray when the quickling reappears.
Lorald Orlovsky
Lorald reloads and holds his shot until the little thing reappears.
"Told you that I was to be feared. Or is running away all you can do. Oh and childish tricks."
Miss Chance DC 20: 1d100 ⇒ 96
Cold Iron Deadshot: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (14) + 13 = 271d10 + 5 ⇒ (1) + 5 = 6
I thought he was blinded, how did he pick up his weapon and make it around a tower? Did anyone make a spellcraft check for that spell/ability he used?
Natalya Artemisa
Glitterdust alows for a save every round to end the blindness, and given its speed I've no doubt it could use one move action to pick up the weapon and another to actually move :s
Also presume speed is what allowed it to get up from prone without provoking :s
Natalya swears under her breath, thinking that they almost had the little creature. She sharpens her senses and prepares to cast burning disarm again, he can't hurt them too badly if he doesn't have a weapon...
Wolf remained wary, rady to snap at the creature if it came near.
Mardavig
|
The quickling comes speeding along from the north side of the tower.
The creature is unaffected by Gareth's color spray.
He shrieks as he is struck by another cold iron bolt.
He makes the save on his burning disarm, once again losing his weapon.
He heads right through the door, which is guarded by Lorald's hounds. Commands or no they are capable to taking opportunity attacks screeching things come running towards them.
Roll an attack for each.

The quickling falls dead.
Upon his person he has little of value besides a packet that seems to contain a blue powder. His fallen sword is a short sword of small size and incredibly skillful make. It looks like a large sewing needle, with a handle wrapped in silk just above the eye of the needle. A medium sized creature can wield it like a dagger and doing so reveals that it is enchanted, +1.
Silence falls in the courtyard, but it is entirely too silent, you have the uneasy feeling of being watched.
Natalya Artemisa
Natalya looks at Wolf reproachfully
It were good your hounds came when called Lorald, they appear to have saved the day somewhat
Wolf tucks his tail in and trots off to sit by the entrance to the creature's tower.
Now don't think to win your way back in to my good books by remembering odd things Wolf...
she cautions, but walks back over to the tower nonetheless, blade still drawn.
After ensuring nothing horrid had crept in to the tower whilst they were fighting the fey, Natalya will reach up and collect the clay pot she spotted earlier, and bring it outside to the others to see what it is.
Lorald Orlovsky
Lorald reloads his crossbow with a cold iron bolt. He walks over to his dogs and tosses them a treat.
"Well guarding is their specialty. I don't suppose their is any healing to be had, that things screech nearly had the points of my ears get sharper. Not in a good way mind you."
He shakes his head trying to clear the faint ringing.
Gareth de Lockhart
"I wasted a good bit of spell on that vile creature" Gareth says, indicating the quickling. "I don't have much more to spare. So, it will be mostly steel from here on out against anything we encounter."
"The central tower, then?" he asks.
Natalya Artemisa
I agree Gareth, I doubt the surrounding towers have much else to offer us, that fae would likely not co-exist with others in the same territory. We should proceed
Sword in hand and Wolf at her heels, Natalya strides to the central tower and proceeds inside.
Natalya Artemisa
Muttering darkly about having to make her way through the overgrown briar and across broken stone, but grudgingly thinking Lorald was probably right, Natalya forced her way to the north east tower. It made tactical sense to clear the way behind after all.
Right then, arrows ready, I really hope we don't run across another of those blasted quick fay things.
She enters the tower with Wolf on her heels, smelling the way.
Mardavig
|
Natalya steps into the NE tower, wolf begins growling in a cautious way. Again Natalya noticed a stench in the tower and as she enters it becomes clear what is the cause. Hundreds of feral rats begin to crawl out of the rubble of fallen stone and timber. These big, dark eyed beasts clearly have no fear of people and they forth in two swarms to attack Natalya.
Probably no need for a map on this one, you're either in the swarm of you're not.
The initiative is Natalya gets the jump on her rodent assailants.
Then the rats.
Everyone else follows.
The tower has no door or obstacle that could be thrown in the way to block the creatures, just fyi.
Natalya Artemisa
A quick inventory left Natalya with a sinking feeling, no fire or other splash weapons that would be useful, only one thing for it then...
Just a bit of flavor but if it stands a chance happy to roll intimidate or what have you ;)
Natalya squeaks loudly and threateningly at the rats, as she brings her blade around in a vast sweeping motion to swipe as many of them as possible in one blow.
greatsword: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (6) + 8 = 14
slashing: 2d6 + 6 ⇒ (1, 2) + 6 = 9
If they move in to Natalya's square to attack then her AoO will be:
slashing: 2d6 + 6 ⇒ (6, 4) + 6 = 16
All that time waiting for a crit and it's a non-critable enemy, gah!!
Mardavig
|
Natalya is certainly welcome to try intimidating the rats. Otherwise what's the point of speaking rat?
She slashes into the Rats with her greatsword, which certainly goes a long way towards proving her threat. Although just as many climb on to her sword and dive around it as are sliced. Half Damage from slashing attacks.
Whether they decide to move up on her will have a lot to do with how frightening she is to them. +2 on the intimidation check.
Natalya Artemisa
intimidate the rats!: 1d20 + 8 + 2 ⇒ (13) + 8 + 2 = 23 (not counting wild empathy or her ability to speak with rats/bats/wolves as those abilities only reference diplomacy)
Following the sweep of her blade, Natalya screeches and chitters like metal nails down a glass window.
Gareth de Lockhart
Never trust a man who keeps a pig rat farm.
"That was nicely done, Natalya."
Is there anything else in the tower?
Natalya Artemisa
Wolf snuffles at the scattered remains, and narrowly avoids eating a squeaky ball of some type when Natalya calls him back to her side.
She grins at Gareth
Who knew that would ever come in handy!?
Gazing across the weed and rubble-choked courtyard, Natalya again begins clambering across to the next tower. NW?
Asking Wolf to smell for danger, she then moves in to the tower, on guard for another fight.
Mardavig
|
Natlaya heads towards the NW tower. This tower stretches high into the sky, its upper reaches hidden in the forest’s canopy. The vines choking the tower’s exterior, which are festooned with bleached humanoid skulls, nearly obscure the dark arrow slits. At ground level, a closed wooden
door hides behind a cloak of hanging vines.
The northwest tower is the only one in the keep to have withstood the test of time—its walls are still intact, as is most of its roof. The door is of original construction and is beautifully carved (though obscured by moss).
A cursory push is unable to open it. A Strength check or some other means is required to open it up.
Lorald Orlovsky
Lorald prepares to fire on anything hostile that should appear.
"I have you covered, their could be a trap or enemy waiting. Be careful."
If nothing pops out and Natalya goes first, Lorald will follow and look around the inside of the tower. Rolling Perception now to save time. Happy Thanksgiving everyone.
Perception: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (15) + 11 = 26
Natalya Artemisa
Natalya first scrutinises the doorway, checking to see if it has been trapped before the tower was abandoned.
perception: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (3) + 8 = 11
Glancing back to Lorald and Gareth she notes
If this tower is overgrown then hopefully it's untouched inside, that would be a nice change after being beset by fey and rats!
Drawing a dagger and scraping away the worst of the moss, Natalya grimaces slightly, how unfortunate to have to endanger such exquisite carving in order to gain entry.
She sighs, and puts her slender shoulder to the task of barging the door open.
STR check: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (18) + 4 = 22
EDIT: Happy Thanksgiving American players! It also appears to be Aviation Day in Venezuela, but I don't think we have any players from that country :p
Natalya Artemisa
Natalya backs away slowly, fetching up some 30 feet from the tower and sticking her sword in the ground.
Well spotted! she whispers to Lorald.
She draws her bow, holding one arrow in her mouth and nocking another she starts a countdown with the others as they ready their missile weapons. When the countdown reaches zero everyone fires at once, hopefully it's enough to cause some severe damage to the vine before the party has to engage in melee...
rapid shot 1: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (6) + 5 = 11
piercing: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5
rapid shot 2: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (20) + 5 = 25
crit!: 1d52 ⇒ 11 Hmm, no entry for 11, will re-roll!
crit!: 1d52 ⇒ 49 Right in the Ear
crit!: 1d52 ⇒ 27 Cheek Pierced
OK Natalya picks Cheek Pierced - normal damage (boo!) and 1d6 bleed
piercing: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3
bleed: 1d6 ⇒ 3
Gareth de Lockhart
Gareth backs away from the threat and levels his crossbow at the fell plant and fires his bolt.
Attack
1d20 + 7 ⇒ (9) + 7 = 16
Damage
1d8 ⇒ 8
Natalya Artemisa
Well that went surprisingly well
muses Natalya
With our current fortune, that means I'm likely to open the door on to a portal to the abyss...just warning you!
she winks.
Stowing her bow and drawing her sword once more, she moves over to the door and shoves it open, sending Wolf in to have a good smell as she scans around the inside of the tower.
perception: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (3) + 8 = 11
Gareth de Lockhart
Gareth stows his crossbow, draws his rapier and follows the others inside.
Mardavig
|
Wolf enters the tower and begins to growl at an unseen threat.
a green-skinned creature jumps down from the wall above the door, landing between Wolf and Natalya. Lorald may make his SINGLE attack. As the creature comes down it rakes both it's claws down into Wolf.
Wolf takes 18 damage and gets to make a fort save.
The creature kicks the door closed.
Initiative:
Group 1: Lorald and Natalya.
The Creature
Group 2: Gareth and Marlani
Everyone is outside the tower but Wolf and the creature, the door is now closed. Lorald gets his readied action and then he and Natalya get their turns.
I'll put a map up shortly.
