The Transition;

1. I think we should finish looking into the Faerie's Hunger.
2. If those who choose the scepter find or whatever, they can find it any time along the search for "The Hunger."

4. I think Tristan and my Gestalt class will require some sort of mini-pilgrimage/quest. For example, Kev is and should go visit the Temple of Erastil that we cleared and Stalker is currently at. We can do each quickly to keep interest high in the game. Or, we can meet someone significant from each religion the way.

I covered mine. Ragathiel's Herald will be visiting and blessing me. Doing side quest is a bad idea and will derail the game before it gets going and puts more work on wolf to come up with it. I plan on writing a narrative to explain mine once we get on track and wolf gives the go ahead.

I mention sorcerer(es)s for the arcane dps part and than Arcane Trickster for the Rogue Trickiness. I really don't see a witch, although maybe for the Stolen Lands it would be cool? But in the end, it's really between you and Wolf.

I am sure Quince would love to be able to see them Angeus signature Shadow Dancing leg splits around him ... lol

@Tristan, a very valid point regarding derailing. PnP, you would probably work slight better but probably not so much in PbP. I will write a narrative as well and I know a perfect time to do Kev's. That way we can continue as Gestalt where we left off with the Hunter who died on his own trap and search for what the Faeries called, "The Hunger."

I will look into arcanist and that archetype. Though I am weighing fey blooded sorcerer or bloodrager and I know exactly how to handle the transition. That touches his secret and unusual heritage.

Knowing us if we delay the gestalt additions it will be Christmas before we get there.

In my narrative, I am going to have Kevros proceed to the Temple to tell Stalker about Jhod and the small contingent, then comes back joining the group the night before. This way, the group doesn't have to go to the temple.

My Gestalt crunch is completed, I am still working on my Transitional Narrative.


I like the side quest thought, though I do agree with Tristan that it would derail from the present quests. I will be likely creating quests that your 'mentors' will be putting before you and to attach it to future quests. Just a bit of focused flavor!

I would like to have an in-game instance of some kind before you power-up to your new gestalt form. I am still open to avenues for each of you. Please either PM me or discuss it here how you would envision it. Please put some thought into why a god would quickly give you power.

Kevros could easily begin to take up the mantle of Erastil by making a pledge or oath to Erastil. Though old One eye would likely need a show of faith to fully power up Kevros, what might that feat be?

I would allow you to take a prestige class though you would need to sacrifice one of your classes to take it instead and have all the prerequisites.

I plan to have gestalt done before the end of the month, one way or another... trust me.

I love to see the projected gestalt character spoiler, thank you Kevros. Everyone feel free to check out his character sheet for a reference if you need one.

On a side note, sorry about last night. I passed out hard and didn't get to do much but sleep after work. 14 hours of sleep and woke up as if I had 6. Hopefully I can wake up rested tomorrow.

I should have a few posts in gameplay in a bit.

Yeah when you sleep too much, it actually works in reverse unless you really needed 14 hours like what happened to me in the military. I have slept 12 to 14 hours when I was in and felt fully rested, rearing to go. And no, sleeping that long in the military was not a common occurrence.

Kevros was simply going to pledge his crossbow to him (Old Deadeye) and not only rebuild/restore the Temple the Wardens had recently freed but either restore the others or have new ones built including Oleg's and whenever we have the funds to build our own Keep or Keeps. Also, I am sure Old Deadeye would love to have the Stag Lord purged from land and I am sure he can see that the Wardens are trying. Kind of hard now since we lost his trail for now. I think anything more would be on the levels of Mythic but also tell me what you are looking for since everyone is different.

The pledging with conviction of the crossbow to Old Deadeye would have been enough for me as a GM but everyone is different. It's basically a Knight of Old pledging his sword to his Lord or Deity.

Is it me or should they remove the part in the description that states "even fire them in melee with little fear of reprisal"? To me, that sounds like you can fire crossbows at point-blank until you read the benefit. I am guessing this is a two prong approach?

Crossbow Mastery and then Point-Blank Mastery (Weapon Specialization + the Feat) to be able to fire in melee w/o AoO?

"even fire them in melee with little fear of reprisal" Is just flavor text. With this feat you no longer provoke AoO with this crossbow.

Will I need Weapon Specialization and Point-blank mastery to use the crossbow in melee combat w/o AoO? Granted, I receive the ability to shoot while in melee without AoO automatically at 13th but that is a long ways away. And when that happens, I will just retrain.

As for my pledge, can that be done anywhere in the forest pledging Kev's crossbow at a tree where most or all bows are made from? Or another location such as Temple? I was going to write in Kev's narrative that he makes a quick ride over to the Temple we just cleansed to pledge his crossbow and returns to the group anew without effecting the flow of the story or players wait for me.

Rats, I still can not unhide the game so I will have to go with a favorite until it resets or I figure it out.

Crossbow Mastery allows you to reload as a free action and reload it w/o taking an AoO.
Point Blank Mastery allows you to fire while threatened w/o taking an AoO, weapon specialization is a prerequisite.

I don't see my Hidden Campaigns. If I have to, I will just have to wait until the next reset. I have the campaign down as favorite for now but I don't see updates. I try to keep up what is being posted but it has to be more proactive than reactive.

As for the crossbow answers, that is what I figured but they should change crossbow mastery verbiage to not say anything about shooting in melee without reprisal because that is incorrect regardless what the benefit states. It causes confusion and questioning.

I hid the hidden too but if I knew that would have hampered me recovering a campaign, I wouldn't have hidden the hidden. It comes back after a reset, I will just wait until then. I will look into tech support but I don't expect much since board use is for free.

GM Wolf, do you use the standard rules with Bucklers?

Does not hamper shooting especially with a crossbow. However with melee weapons, it is a -1 to attack? I am thinking that as a small gift devoting Kev's crossbow/life to Erastil, he leaves a non-magical buckler with a removable skin that acts like a Holy Symbol. This way, it is is not OP being a standard instead of magical buckler and if I upgrade my buckler, which can be expected, I can remove the skin off the old and add it to the new. Real life hide coverings are highly resistant to most damage. Not only is the shield a means of protection, it is used as Kev's Warpriest Holy Symbol and it is always out facing friend and foe.


I see what you are saying Kevros about the wording being misleading. Yes the buckler would work that way.

Thank you for both ... It is no problem with the feat, that is only one or two levels away for crossbow in melee. Then retrain at 13th level.

You will likely not be camping before the fey find you, I will move us along. Though she has said she uses a bow you have never seen her have one nor used one before.

Question: I know Kevros is getting the buckler form ready. If I remember correct we are avoiding hunting around the Fey. Which means if the Fey stick around we shouldn't hunt. Are we assuming they are with us and we are playing through their time with us or are we assuming we moved in toward whatever goal we pick and they stayed with us and we are picking up the action after they left.

Did we encounter Kobold? I think I remember 1. Where on the map was that? It may have been near 2 or 4.

I believe we gathered the radishes on an early trip. So we may have visited the hex between 1 and 12.

Is Tuskhorn the same thing as Tuskgutter? I think we brought back the bar meat for cooking awhile back. If not hunting Tuskgutter the infamous boar might be a good hunt for us so that Kevros can get his skin for his buckler.


Sorry for not getting back to you sooner, I kept getting sidetracked. The armor check penalty will be -2 rather than -1 because it is not worth the standard 15gp. Also the crude wooden buckler's condition is (what is one step better than destroyed, or the condition goblin weapons have?). If you took the weeks to make a buckler out of wood I would be fine with it being like a normal metal buckler.

Perhaps you should ask the fey how they feel about hunting. Just stop hunting. Or discuss it with the group with or without the fey.

You have moved to explore maybe a day with the fey, if that. Really only a half hour since no one has told the fey they can come or not.

I don't think tusk horn is the same as tusk gutter, I will have to check.


I don't think craft checks will be nessesary for this wooden buckler because you will likely replace it once you find a metal one.

Are we that low on supplies?

My thought was we would wake go on a hunt. Then once we dressed the kill set out for the Dryad because that seemed a lead to find the Staglord.

Though I believe the fey mentioned Berik might be able to help.

I don't remember our plan before we went after the hunter.

We ran into the Fey while we were on our way back to the Temple of Erastil. We left Stalker alone at the temple to heal. He is expecting us and Jhod and the group he is trying to raise up will be heading for the temple as well.

I believe the temple is still south of us. I think we are in the 12 hex or just to the east of it. If we are not already in the same Hex as the temple.

So we might want to stop by the temple on the way to see the Dryad.

The DC to craft a bow is 12 (-2 if improvised tools) Do you have artisan's tools?
Pay 1/3 of the price.

4. Make an appropriate Craft check representing one week's worth of work. If the check succeeds, multiply your check result by the DC. I believe you are correct Quince. You were likely in the hexes above the temple of the stag. About noon on day 61, you should get to the temple.
