Your currently treading water at the edge of the shelf, though i suspect Arielle is about to make a concentration check to cast colour spray and save her own life and take one of your attackers out of the fight. If Arielle wishes to amend her swimming action i'm happy to let her since i did interpret her choice to enter the water as by the quickest means possible.
Andrej has already wounded the creature attacking him quite badly, i think a good dagger hit from him will kill it. But that makes it a race between Andrej's dagger and the creature pinning him.
Has anyone guessed what your fighting yet btw? They are probably the worst creature in the bestiary, thats why we had to have the confusion of no map and the advantage of the water.

At low levels I summon them with summon Monster spells. They can ruin a small races day in a hurry. Especially with swallow whole!

I don't think drowning is a particularly good way to go for a hero, but i always love running this encounter just for the way players react to the threat of drowning.
Do PCs always go swimming? I doubt my home group would go near the water. lol
Every time at least one person has gone swimming, though Andrej probably saved Arielles life by going first. She would have been swollowed whole before you noticed she was gone. Saying that Arielle probably saved Andrejs life by distracting one of them as well.
Are we still going to soak in the pools after the frogs are dead? :)

Fishy chicken. We had a pond where finished growing up and would go gig frogs at night. These were some large bull frogs. There legs had more meat than a big chicken wing. All reptile meat I have had tasted a little fishy to me (Frog Legs, Alligator, Iguana and a couple kinds of snake).

LOL. Not sure if the truth is an much of an upgrade Silva. We live in "mostly" rural Alabama. While we live in the "city" (two different but neighboring cities) I have killed rattlesnakes and copperheads in my yard and have removed two snakes (alive) from my house.
My rule for snakes is, if it is poisonous, I kill it. Otherwise I leave it be.
Around where I used to live we mostly had garter snakes and rat snakes, with the occasional copperhead.
We work/live in the "new silicon valley". There is nothing rural about where we live. Egan puts astronauts on the moon and I rehab them. I do duck hunt in Ark though! That's kind of redneck!
I had a frog in my back garden last summer, thats about as scary as it gets over here in england. That or hedgehogs.
I've seen a bit of swamp people though and i'd definately try the food, aligator steaks with creole spices looked amazing.
Possums are scary. Especially when you are driving up your hill at night and the headlights make their eyes glow. They get pretty big too.

I just found the thought that if you invested into learning a combat sign language similar to modern armed force you would still sign in ignan amusing. Maybe i've been at work to long today.

Theres a few ways to communicate, magic is one. The roleplaying option is charades.
If you would rather do the charades mechanically roll bluff vs dc 30, then i'll have Garuum roll sense motive at dc 30 minus your bluff check. That makes both rolls about dc15. Failure by 5 or more would result in a misunderstanding. Just say what your trying to convey and make the roll.
Must be hard traveling so much though Andrej, i only commute about an hour to work and sometimes that kils me. Can't imagine what the jet lag must be like from such a quick stop over in india and then back to normal.
I used to travel more and some international, but it was usually a trip like that a year, which makes it fun, at least to me. Japan twice. Netherlands twice. Russia (Moscow) once, Paris once, and Turin Italy once. That's if for my international business travel.
Its 4:49 and my daughter is teething, just giving her a cuddle to get her back off to sleep and i'll be dead to the world for another hour from five. Then up for work, thankfully my misspent youth taught me to get by on five hours sleep and to get to sleep very quickly.
She's really not enjoying the teeth though, slept soundly since 8ish last night till about 4am then screamed so loud i thought she was under attack! For a change my partner has slept through it instead of me.
