@Rhavi - since its in the 3rd range increment it would miss by 3 squares to the right, unless you have something that increases your range increment.

As Andreas and Kazmuk step over the wall and move forward, they both hear a noise. Andreas gets a distinct memory of Auch, as to the right of you a badger barrels forward, having lain down under some debris at the base of the wall. I put a before/after for the badger to make it apparent where he started and ended.

The badger charges at Kazmuk, and slams its head directly into his armoured leg, shaking its head it pain.

The Stag Lord only has a ranged weapon out, so can not take an AoO.

Stag Lord Fort Save: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (2) + 4 = 6

As the bomb sails overhead, Kazmuk deals a blow to the badger while Rillka's snowball hits and staggers the Stag Lord.

Andreas demands the Stag Lords surrender.

Up close, Andreas can see that the Stag Lord looks unharmed except for the damage Rillka's snowball just dealt. The man smells of stale alcohol and sweat, but the Stag Lord's eyes are coherent and sharp, and his grin ominous as he responds to Andreas. "You have come here, trying to over throw me... you should have gone for the kill. Now your friends are trapped here with me."

The Stag Lord nocks an arrow, drawing back his bow, giving Andreas an opening to attack. At this range The Stag Lord essentially places the arrow top a foot from Andreas' chest and fires, the arrow ripping into Andreas chest. Andreas falls to the ground, unconcious.Andreas gets an attack of opportunity, and then takes 14 damage. This puts Andreas at 38 damage taken and 33 hp at the start of the fight, so -5 hp. Andreas must make a DC 10 constitution check with a -5 penalty to stabilize at the start of his next turn.

Yes I would be at -5 right now if my AoO attack is not successful.

I did not see it but did the stag lord save vs rilka's spell? or was that against Rhavi's spells...

I am not sure if this will work but it was part of my plan and why I move to the location I did. We shall see...if not, oh well. I could not get to him and attack last round so I needed to place myself in a position where no matter where he moves to...he will provoke an AoO...(I hope at least)

Afraid of hitting her new friends, Rhavi instead climbs over the wall and draws her sword, moving over next to the badger

The Stag Lord's face becomes a grimace as he glares at Rillka, "Begone witch!". The Stag Lord fires and arrow that slices through the air towards Rillka's head. Trying to dodge, Rillka pulls her head out of the way, but smacks it into the railing very hard. Rillka takes 16 damage. @Rostam - At the time of posting I was not sure of the resolution of Kazmuk's Bull rush - where Rillka would either be firing into melee, or if Antler Head was knocked from the roof (although if he falls prone, he is also at +4 AC vs ranged attacks....), or if something else may happen, so I did not apply any penalties.

As Rillka and Kazmuk continue to land blows, Rhavi struggles to land a hit.

Looking more exhausted and injured each moment, the Stag Lord steps towards Rillka, trying to keep from being flanked by the two fighting him in melee. The Stag Lord strikes at Kazmuk with a sweeping blow and continues the strike backhandedly at Rillka. Kazmuk deflects the Stag Lords blade, but its momentum carries through, cutting Rillka deeply below her ribs. Rillka sinks slowly to lie prone on top of the wall.[/ooc]Rillka takes 8 damage.[/ooc]

:: Sarenith 6 - Evening - Assault on the Stag Lord's Fort ::

Kazmuk's strike goes wide, the Stag Lord easily side stepping it. Having not paid much attention to Rhavi, a look of surprise erupts on the Stag Lord's face as he feel her blade slide into his side.

The Stag Lord lets out a yell as he twists himself off of Rhavi's blade. He bellows in anger, blood flying from his mouth in rage as he strikes at Rhavi. The first blow goes wide in his rage, but the second connects with Rhavi. Rhavi takes 9 damage.

"It looks like I might not make it out of here, but I am going to take you with me wench!" the Stag Lord screams as his blow lands. At this point the Stag Lords breath is highly laboured, blood is flowing from the wound at his side, and he looks near the limit that a human can take.

Rillka is dreaming. She is back on the road with her auntie Kenza. There is a storm and an rain is falling on her, a lightning flash shocks her to her core causing a thousand stinging needles of pain. She looks and the bolt has solidified into a blade, which just like a lightning flash, then disappears.
She feels herself leaving her body and looks down on it from above. She sees herself lying on the ground, nearby the Tall Folk Andreas lies. Their blood mixing with the falling rain, and the Stag Lord's form a dark cloud. She doesn't feel any desire to either leave or get back in her body, she just kinda hangs there, looking at herself and Andreas; and waiting for the Stag Lord to drift away.

Thank you Rhavi, for the inspiration from your near-death post

An inner peace comes with simply waiting for the Stag Lord to drift away. Watching her guardian and friend, Kazmuk, "the Anvil", still unyielding; and her new friend, Rhavi, who stood with them against their common foe, continue to fight. She prays, Gozreh, you blessed this little halfling, let the rains help the Tall Folk Andreas as they have me and aid those who continue after we have fallen. Contented, she simply waits for the Stag Lord to drift away.

"Mister Dwarf. I don't think your big friend is in a very good shape. If we don't help him soon, I'm afraid we are going to loose him for good. Can you do anything? I can try and hold this loser off"

Rillka continues to hover, she is saddened to see Kazmuk take a serious blow, but knows in her heart he and Rhavi will be victorious. From the corner of her eye she catches a glimpse of Andreas hovering, proud of his companions, but clearly wishing he was still in the fight. The rains and storm are a blessing of her birth, and the Stag Lord will fall before them.

The darkness continues to swallow the light as the young man watches his companions fight a desperate battle. The shadows creep in from all sides as he loses more and more hope. The directions he urge go unheard, the advice not taken. What did he expect, he failed to protect them all. Little Rillka lies bleeding because of his failure.
As the large man watches on, his body grows less and less corporeal. He raises a hand and can see through it. He knows now that his failure is all be final.
I have failed...and now my compan...my friends will die because of my choice.

From within what little light is left of his vision comes a mist of white. Growing in intensity as it pushes back the darkness. A strong female voice echoes out.
Why do you feel as if you have failed.

Andreas tries to look into the light but it is too bright and he averts his gaze.

I do not regret my actions nor my chosen path. It was the best option I had that time. I felt that if we disarmed him of his weapon we would have a better chance.
The large knight does not know why he speaks so freely to someone or something that he does not know but he feels oddly at peace now. A calm has settled over his heart.

The voice speaks again but is much closer this time.
Then let go. Let go and trust those around you to finish what they started.

Andreas tries yet again to look at the light.
If this is my time then I am ready. I am not filled with the fear of death and will not weep or pray for a little more time to live my life again in a different way. I am ready.

Now the female voice is right by his ear.
That is why you will have a home when that time comes. It most assuredly will but not today.

Andreas turns towards the voice that is in his ear but only sees a bright mist. Then within that mist he sees a vague outline of a valiant sword-mistress in full plate mail, wielding a longsword and a shield. She turns to him with a visage that is gentle yet strong.

Let go of your responsibilities and trust that they can do this. You must trust them.

Andreas slips back down to kneel by his own body and looks at the battle. As he reaches for his own body...his breathing becomes relaxed and steady. His wounds congeal and slows the flow of his life's blood. The color returns to his cheeks. He gives another look towards the battle.
You can do this. Do not worry about me. Deal with the task at hand. I have faith in both of you. Fight on.

As Rhavi has almost decided to step away from the combat to help Andreas, she feels a kind of calm come over her. She glances at Andreas again and without knowing how she knows, she knows that he'll be alright.

If just she could finish off this guy!!

Her sword feels heavy in her grip and she knows she'll soon lie on the floor next to Rillka and Andreas if she doesn't get past the Stag Lords defenses. That last blow was very close, she only got his sword turned away in the last second.
