Yeah, I was originally going to go with the witchfire, but then I remembered Eben and Zolin had ghost touch arrows, and that Estavlin was asking for help. But then I noticed that Cuetzpalli had probably killed the spectre, so, witchfire, anyways.

Battle at the Rift, The Isle of Last Resort

Tanith punches the shadow to bits in two swings, then hurls a mass of tiny knives at the deathweb down below. It lets out chittering noises as the blades puncture its eyes and mandibles.

Farrukh, expressing his impotent rage at the very tale he has been thrust into, slashes off the deathweb's head and proceeds to beat the undead horror into the ground, smashing scores of little spiders and utterly wrecking the overall form.

Round 2: Witchfires/Spectre

The witchfires continue firing their bolts, this time focusing on those who have already been affected by the witchflame.

Another one of Cuetzpalli's images goes up in a horrific display of illusionary agony as the bolt consumes it. Zolin watches as a bolt comes flying straight towards him and, oddly, is deflected away by one of Tanith's pecs.

Round 2: Merca/Zolin/Estavlin/Goblin

The goblin's song reaches a roaring pitch. It draws the greatsword from its back and, running forward, hurls it at one of the deathwebs.

The greatsword whirls through the air and impales itself in the deathweb's front. The goblin giggles.

Estavlin sheathes his sword and casts a spell. Spectral vines climb out of his arm, covered in thorns and small rosebuds. The buds start to bloom as the vines fly from his arm and towards the uninjured witchfire.

The thorns strip away pieces of the spectral being, but it seems apathetic to its injuries.

Merca begins casting some sort of spell.

Zolin, up above, aims to finish off Eben's and Carina's target.

"ESTAVLIN, YOUR MAGIC MISSILES ARE REALLY PRETTY!" Eben sincerely, albeit ragefully, shouts. Then he shoots another batch of arrows at the witchfire already damaged by said pretty magic missiles and Zolin's arrows.

3 ghost salt arrows left. Using them on my manyshot and hasted shots, and just using a vanilla one for the iterative.

Eben sinks two arrows into the witchfire, though the first only barely penetrates the spirit's deflective aura. Meanwhile, Astraden places her hand on Cuetzpalli, banishing the flames from his form.

Carina and Cuetzpalli are up. Cuetzpalli is no longer sickened.

Cuetzpalli flies past Farrukh, and mutters something in old suel. He extends Kelmarchen pointing it at one of the deathwebs. A giant rune-etched, anchor shaped hook of shimmering rainbow-colored force blasts from the sword and pierces through the chest of the deathweb, a thick chain dangling behind it. The chain quickly reels itself in, catapaulting Cuetzpalli at the undead. He rams into it sword first with a bellowed, "Jejejejejejeje!" The hook and chain fade from existence, but the rent in the undead's chest doesn't.

The deathweb before Cuetzpalli hisses and attacks. The one closest to the doors moves up over the body of its comrade to attack Farrukh. Those inside hear the sounds of the eastern deathweb scaling the side of their building.

Farrukh dodges his attacker, but Eben is caught off-guard by the ferocity of the shadow's strike. He feels its cold hand pass straight through his heart and suddenly has the sensation of running, fleeing cold hands, they came through the walls, the captain is dead, shadows everywhere, no escape, so cold—

He shakes off the short vision as a bit of strength exits his body and passes to the foul creature.

Eben takes 4 Strength damage.

Battle at the Rift, The Isle of Last Resort

One of Eben's images vanishes.

Down on the ground, Cuetzpalli has slammed into the deathweb. The titanic beast of swarm and undead flesh looms over him, letting out a shrill, un-spiderlike hiss. Cuetzpalli barely raises his sword in time to deflect its lunging mandibles. It struggles for six brutal seconds, then is forced back.

The deathweb chitters and rears up on its hind four legs. Cuetzpalli levels his sword at it. They exchange a look of mutual understanding—or, if not understanding, at least a primitive awareness that even the strange hivemind of the spiders can grasp. An awareness that neither warrior can escape this field of spikes unless the other first lies dead.

The deathweb then collapses, a multitude of tiny knives embedded in its head.

Meanwhile, Farrukh demolishes his own foe with a series of inescapable slashes and crunches to the creature's frame.

Round 3: Witchfire

The last witchfire, eyeing the scene balefully, turns and zooms off. As it goes, it appears to be conducting some sort of strange rite, its form shifting, swirling, glitching about in an unholy dance. It is not leaving at top speed.

It is still within sight, but it possesses Improved Cover, as it is trying to utilize the foliage to cover its retreat.

Merca/Estavlin/Goblin/Zolin

"That's a summons!" Zolin yells, firing four mundane arrows towards the fleeing figure. But all four arrows are lost in the foliage, as the ranger is clearly still feeling the ill effects of the undead stare—and, of course, the green flames that flicker around him.

Merca backs behind Astraden, drawing a scroll and using it on herself. Some of her wounds vanish. "Estavlin, kill that shadow. Anybody want me to get rid of the spike growth?"

Estavlin draws his scimitar and slashes at the shadow. He slices away a large section of the shadow's arm, but his non-ghost salt-enchanted sword isn't able to finish the creature off.

The goblin walks over and hefts its greatsword out of the creature. It concludes the song, but all in the area here the shrill roars echo in their eardrums.

Raging Song continues for 2 more rounds.

Eben's rage intensifies as one of his images vanish. Not for any real reason, so he invents one as he begins to harangue the murdering shadow. "You bastard! You killed Kevin! That was my favorite image! You're going to pay for that..." He loads his bow and hoists it to point at the shadow, the arrowhead almost touching the undead's chest, clearly ready, willing, and really, eager, to risk himself by firing at melee range, when Cuetzpalli takes care of the problem for him with a single slash. "Oh! Well..." He looks around for another target for his rage and picks the fleeing witchfire. "I HATE INCORPOREAL GREEN THINGS THAT RUN AWAY!", he cries, before launching a (rather unlikely) series of shots at the distant and well protected burning ghost.

Spending an AP for Far Shot, so between the range and the improved cover, I have a -9 penalty. If anything hits, they're just normal arrows so half damage. Rapid shot would likely make this completely impossible, but will buy an extra AP shot.

The goblin scampers past Astraden and hurls its greatsword at the deathweb, as it did before. The sword lodges in its leg and, again, is stuck there. The goblin scowls as comprehension dawns on it that what went up is not coming back down.
