Oh, I'm off to a Music Festival from tomorrow until sometime Monday. Not sure how much I'll get to post from a field. :P

So what I'll try and do is set up the scene in Hull tonight and you can plan/plot/RP and we can set off Monday - sounds good? (that's if I can finish packing)

Works for me! :)

Have fun!

I'll agree on one condition: You have fun. :P

We have our moving sale tomorrow, then are packing and selling big stuff Sunday/Monday/Tuesday, then will be moving (driving) Wednesday and possibly Thursday, depending if we make enough during the sale for both gas and a hotel room.

We'll try to check in from time to time, but may not be around until Thursday, particularly with the short library hours on Saturday and Sunday.

I hope things are going well with all of you. Thinking of you a bunch, Rags.

Just staying busy, (very busy, tech week & kids start back to school) But that's nothing compared to moving1 ;P

(DId I Mention that I hate moving?) ;)

Good luck Treppa!

I'm going to upstate NY for the engagement party of a cousin-in-law, and then a couple of days camping. Won't have internet until Monday night at the earliest.

Enjoy Jssra!
And travel safe!
:)

Apologies for not posting what's in the next room yet, I'm trying to compose something but the muse is illusive ;)

I'll get something up in the morning.

Your muse, my sanity,... ;P

Maybe they're hanging out together. :)

I am *very* glad to hear that, Rags.

Seconded, glad that the recovery is progressing and don't worry about pushing yourself, of course.

Thank you also for the progress report.

Welcome back. :) May your recovery go as easily as possible.

MAny thanks,
I'm still lurking, but it still hurts a lot if I sit up for too long, or sit down for too long, or lay down, or stand up, or walk,... whose bright idea was it to go through the FRONT of a person to reach the kidney in the BACK?!? Just sayin',... ;P

We'll drag Danny along if need be, don't worry. Abdominal surgery hurts, don't it?

It only hurts when I laugh,...

,... Or cough,...
,... Or cry,...

;P

At least you can breathe.

Right?

***Wheeze,...***

Ack, opening night for Wiz of Oz!

SO much for any sleep.

May I just say it's been a delight playing this game with you guys, you have been superb and fun. Long may it continue.

Awwww, shucks! ;)

Keep up all the good work yourself and I'm fairly safe in saying we'll probably hang around for a while.
;P

Thanks for making, and keeping, it fun! :)

You're the lone original left, aren't you Rags?

(Not that I'm saying that because I have any plans to leave...)

And I second Ragadolf's return of thanks right back at you DSX -- it's been a lot of fun, and I also hope it continues to go on for a very long time.

Yep, and Danny was even in another (the first) Dresden Game on these boards. Anyway just thought I'd let you know how much I'm enjoying and appreciating everyone's participation.

Hey DSXM,
It looks like your getting ready to have some more fun in Jess Door's WotR PbP. Do I have ANOTHER soon-to-be-favorite reading thread coming up?

MAkes me want to ask if there's an open spot left.
BUuuuuut I have enough on my plate.

No, really,... I have plenty to do. Both RL and PbP.

Maybe asking won't hurt? :)

(I'm pathetic. I know.) :/

One of these days, I will realize that my attempted participation on these boards has far exceeded my actual writing skills. ;P

EDIT- So,... what's next:)

[best cartoon Martian voice]"Where's the Kaboom? There was supposed to be an Earth shattering Kaboom?!"[/best cartoon Martian voice]

Hah "exceeded your writing skills" I think not. Plus I'm sure there's another spot open, if you do think you have enough time.

(which reminds me it's been a while since I kept up with Heathy's game)

Yep, yep... was trying to think of something suitable for the next post.

And Refresh Time! Everyones Refresh goes back upto maximum. Unless you are already over that number.

Yaaaaay! 0 Fate Points was a bad, bad, bad place to be!

Oh and all stress goes away! It's a Friday after all.

;)

Lol!

Obviously, YOUR Fridays are NOT the same as mine,... ;P

Don't! Stop! Typing!

Lol!
Hey, some of us have to actually ,... you know, do some WORK at work, once in a while! ;P

Sometimes,... ;)

Just a heads up, I'm flying out to a friends' wedding on 11/4 and will be hanging around to visit family/go hiking/etc. for another week or so. Internet access is likely to be spotty. Return flight is on 11/14.

Test.

Hey, it's working again!

Booo.

Where you going?

Other Kentucky Derby (Species: Human) Expert 4 / Generalist 1

First stop is Las Vegas, where the happy couple lives. IIRC, you were bantering with one of them in Paizochat the other day, about being married by Elvis.

After that, the plan is to swing south through AZ to see the Grand Canyon, and end up at my folks' house in Phoenix. We'll spend a while there, probably go hiking, and catch up with friends I haven't seen since I moved away.

Woo, Kassil & Teirce! Awesome. Give 'em a hug from me! <3

They do have some connectivity in Vegas, I believe. :P

Other Kentucky Derby (Species: Human) Expert 4 / Generalist 1

Vegas, sure. We're planning to stay at campgrounds rather than hotels between Las Vegas & Phoenix, though. (Maybe also while in Phoenix, depending on how my allergies/asthma act around mom's dogs.)

You guys are brilliant. Brilliant!

Male Warrior-Bard of Old; Herald of Brigid Stress: P: OOOO M:OOOO S:OOO; Fate Points: 3;

DSX -- For Kenneth's "blank" rote spell -- can I use the Fire of Inspiration to provide a social block -- basically, I'm envisionning it as a counter-burn, dulling the target's ability to lie, create or radiate a strong presence -- it would use the same rules as a normal block (I would think), including the collapse against attacks that "break" it.

I was thinking it would be saoghalta [uninspired].

Also, before I do a dirty, on-the-fly, evocation to boost Kenneth's persona (filling himself with the Fire of Inspiration) -- what's the Lore roll for my last (empty) potion slot to be a fine draught of glibness?

Kenneth - The Rote spell is great, to provide a bit more of a social ability (blocking) for the group.
The Lore roll for a potion of Glibness, would be a 3.

Male Warrior-Bard of Old; Herald of Brigid Stress: P: OOOO M:OOOO S:OOO; Fate Points: 3;

Perfect. I'll write it up and add it. Since the Flames are primarily a creation sort of power, I switched it up -- it fills the "protected" with confidence and a Bard' ego to do the social block. The idea of using the Fire of Inspiration to make someone less inspired didn't sit well, thematically.

And, before I go post over there.. Lore: 5 + 4d3 - 8 ⇒ 5 + (2, 2, 3, 1) - 8 = 5 Right. Time for a quick drink.

Also, second question -- if I do the easy, predicatable thing and enchant a jacket to serve as armour, would that stack with Kenneth's mail spell -- the refinement I have lets me basically build always-on armour 3 (which is as good as the spell) -- which, without stacking, makes the rote spell useless.

I amused myself this weekend by reading the gameplay thread from the beginning. It's amazing, and you just had your 2-year anniversary. Congratulations and well done, DSX and Rags.

RE:Kenneth's Question: Stacking might be tricky as it'd allow an Armour over 3 which'd make a significant near-immunity (although for only a couple of rounds). Maybe the rote could interact differently with the jacket, providing an 'Inhuman Toughness'?

Thanks Treppa, despite a slightly revolving cast - I'm astonished and gladdened by the skill of everyone who has taken part.
