When RGM first mentioned this, I was like the Professor on Futurama: "Eh, Wha!?"

But thanks for the clarification one and all.

I think I will also be taking A & D, since that helps with the spells.

A)HP:1d8 ⇒ 2; BAB goes to +3.

D)+1 spell/day for 1st & 2nd level each. Change to DC save vs. Channeling.

Do domain abilities apply in this case if they are affected by class level? For example, Lore Keeper is affected by cleric level. Or is this a level up application?

RGM: How we are handling the additional spell slots since we are making this transition "in dungeon" as it were. Can we add an additional spell or assume that one of the slated ones is doubled up? I'm flexible either way - as I'm sure I can just wing it as additional healing in a pinch.

Aside from that last question, everything else has been updated.

Dark Archive

I'm good with either for Valen. Also, class-based abilities, like domain abilities (ie Lore Keeper) go up when you complete the level.

I must admit as to being slightly lost as to how the leveling up is working.

might some one give me a break down/explanation again?

Perhaps typing slowly so that my stupid self can get the gist of what's being detailed? ;)

Wishing every one all the very best.

Here is what I posted earlier as a cheat sheet:

Alexa Grunwald wrote:

I think for simplicity - to keep the system working, this should be how we do it rather than trying to interpret the sheet RGM posted - I think this follows the sheet pretty closely:

A) Gain HP and BAB

B) Saving Throws

C) Skill Points from leveling

D) Class Bonuses <-- anything listed under Special/Spells per Day on the table in the d20 and paizo websites - class feats, animal companions, channel energy, smite evil, spells, etc.

Level Up) Everything else not gotten before - Ability increases, Favored Class Bonus, Odd Level Feats, etc.

Thus, you can increase:

(A) - your combat --> increase in BAB & HP
(D) - your "other skills", which for you should be one more level 1 spells/day and 1 more level 1 spell and 1 more level 0 spell known - you would also be able to cast Summon Monster II as a spelllike ability.

The other two options are:
(B) - increase your skills with however many skill points you would usually gain at the next level; or
(C) - increase your saves as though you leveled
______________

The way RGM has us doing it, we get to increase 2 of the 4 options. Most of us are choosing A & D since this gives us better hp/BAB and more abilities, this leaves our saves and skills lacking behind until we actually level at some point in the near future.
______________

If you choose to level your eidolon, Smith, I would think that you would choose to increase 2 of his 4 sets of abilities. RGM will have to decide whether he gains his new evolution points at this time since they are technically tied to you leveling.
______________

I hope this clears things up a little and does not just confuse things more.

Yup

Dark Archive

Just got back from ConQuest Sacramento. Three days straight of PFS. Fun, but somehow exhausting. Should have time to read all the new posts and contribute now, but I think that can wait til tomorrow... night all!

Everyone has their round 2 actions in, so yes, I believe we are simply waiting for RGM to tell us what happens.

Sorry guys. Work got really, really busy this week. Worse, the new IT department has made it all but impossible to post from my normal station, which very much sucks. So, I'll be updating when and where I can on my iPad. ;)

Expect to see another post in a day or so.

Those of you searching the cabinet discover five vials of exceptionally clear water and a small, ornate glass tube with Pharasma's holy symbols on each end. The glass case contains a thin, long piece of wood, etched with divine runes. An ornate scroll is wrapped tightly around the ornate wand.

Off track for a second in the midst of combat. Madeline ID the scroll and wand. I am assuming the five vials are holy water, and not Pharasma Spring's bottled water (since 1840 AR). Once the melee is done - should we assume each of us takes one of the vials?

Thanks and back to our regularly scheduled mayhem.

ALL - Just so you know, you're not reading the rules wrong, but I'm not going to tell you the outcome of any course of action until you try it. Seems counter-productive (and outside of the spirit of the game). So, please don't think I'm being callous or evil GM. ;)

Half-Elf Male Cleric (Pharasma) 5 - HP: 34/34; AC17, T10, FF17; F+5,R+1,W+8; Per +9; Init +4

No worries, RGM.

It's me just not wanting to screw up the information you gave me. I think it's good character interaction - showing we don't always know what we are blundering into despite our efforts.

Just wanted to give you a heads up that I will be on a business trip from May 27-June 4. My posting may be spotty, so if there's a need to DMPC, please do so.

Given how much we communicate, it took me a sec to remember that not all of us are experiencing hot and/or humid weather this time of year. Hope you're enjoying the winter-time then. Is it a snowfall type of winter or more the wet and windy type of cold?

HP: 28 / 28, Init:+3, Perc:+7,AC:16,Fort:+3,Ref:+4,Will:+3

I have only experienced snow once in my life and I can say quite vehemently that it was once too much!

The nights are getting longer and for the past half of the week we've been having constant overcast skies and light but constant rain.

The one good thing is that it's keeping the temperatures up in the double digits. :)

Small benefit, but kind of welcome none the less.

Wishing every one and theirs all the very best.

Alexa - I completely understand the move thing (and sorry to hear about your basement). I have a property in Wisconsin and my basement would occasionally flood with heavy rains. I wanted to remodel part of it, so I had to have it stripped and sealed, including the cracks around the foundation. It wasn't too expansive, and at the end of the day, worth every penny. Having since finished 1/2 of it (bar + tv room), I'm now getting ready to seal/finish the other side next spring to build my custom game room. So excited! Hell, if I was Stateside and in Wisconsin, I'd tell you to come up for a custom game!

Vaghn - Hope you did on finals! Now get in the game!! ;)

Valen - It's definitely turning into summer here. Already in the triple digits here in Kuwait!

Female Human (Varisian(Ustalav)) Druid(Menhir Savant)/4 - Monk/1 HP: 33/36; AC16, T15, FF15; F+7,R+5,W+11; Per +13; Init +3

Yeh - we have now determined that the previous owners clearly lied on their disclosures, I am trying to figure out if there is anything that we can still do.

Hopefully we will be out of here in a month or two. Found a great place in NH, not sure if it will have a game room, but I am pretty sure that I will actually get to place some real tabletop gaming as I have friends back there who play.

It would be fun to join you. I do not know where he is in Wisconsin, but GM Blood, who DMs several other campaigns I am in here, just check my campaign tab, I am pretty sure lives there and seems to game fairly frequently.

Dark Archive

NH? Really? Where? That's my home state!! I was born in Nashua, spent my early years in Londonderry.

I grew up in Lancaster, we considered the Mason-Dixon Line to be somewhere in the Plymouth-Laconia area. Mass was the Deep South and New York was out west.

Dark Archive

Owner of Storm Bunny Studios, LLC

LOL

Well, I guess I'm a southern boy, then. My godfather lives up in Laconia, too. Rides a Harley, which I suspect is pretty convenient, given his location. I haven't been out that way in decades, which is sort of sad, really. I plan to change that, though, when I move Stateside this year.

When you get a chance, think you can talk the other players into posting? ;) We're starting to slow down again and even with me pushing this along, well, you know.....

Female Human (Varisian(Ustalav)) Druid(Menhir Savant)/4 - Monk/1 HP: 33/36; AC16, T15, FF15; F+7,R+5,W+11; Per +13; Init +3

You all hear Alexa mumbling some strange words. You are pretty sure somewhere in there you hear something that sounds like "Bigby".

A moment later a gigantic disembodied hand appears and slaps the rest of the party silly. This slapping continues until that player declares some action other than standing and being slapped.

Cast: Bigby's Slapping Hand.
__________

Lets go guys, we are getting close to the end of this prison I believe, or at least this main level. I am pretty sure that we will find a basement, but we will never find this and save the warden and his good wife unless we do something other than dying of old age.
