Hey Omen, since I've been to the interior of the castle, do I know how thick are the outer walls? I'm thinking about using the window we have, in several ways...
DM Omen
As detailed as the AP is, it does not often include small details like the thickness of walls.
According to history, even the thinnest walls were at least 1.5 meters thick, which is a little shy of 5 feet. So even if for some reason the walls were half of the absolute bare minimum thickness of typical structures the window still could not get through them, sorry.
Argan Midnight
What a pity...
Argan Midnight
It's the second time you say that, new ability Goodie?
If it really does that I'm ok with it (although Argan is disgusted with the lack of finesse).
Goodie Thornmaple
Yeah, it was my new spell for this level. And while I don't know if bone cleaning was it's intended purpose if watching the Mummy taught me anything is that swarms are nature's compost pile.
Argan Midnight
Common Eryan, pick something to do!
Argan Midnight
Well, you did not kill Bellam yet, Mad Martin is dead, the other commanders are alive and stable, so I guess our best bet is Barnabus and his troop, as they just vanished.
Scenario #1, If our bluff worked perfectly each dwarf or pair or dwarves will have gone in a separate direction, so they will not be found easily, and they have no idea of why.
Scenario #2 They may have found the note Barnabus wrote and are hunting him for the "Lie" he wrote, calling him a dastard since he fled and took the dwarves with him.
Scenario #3 They believe Barnabus and his troop disappeared because of the marching army Varning discovered and the dwarves somehow knew it first.
Scenario #4 In the worst case, they found out about our excursion to the north, the Triton and the armor, and are looking for Francisco. This means our life will get rough, but it's highly unlikely.
Unfortunately I believe #3 is in progress...
Argan Midnight
Scenario #5 They found out there's a Rumormonger in their city and are hunting me, but Argan will never even think of this possibility. He cannot imagine the inferior soldiers finding out about him.
Vladamir Orlovsky
Kinda wanna kill the bard and his group just for fun.. I somehow see them as carnie's and i really dislike carnie's..
Argan Midnight
Since they should have already been paid for the play, I believe that would bring us some extra income. Enough to maybe be worth, but possibly calling attention to our flock (aside from the part that bards are versatile enough to escape an ambush...).
Kharn the Binder *Cleaned-Up*
Somebody called for a killing?
Argan Midnight
Actually it only improves my capability of paying your enchanting fees ^_^
But the castle will be in a turmoil now, why don't we let them be (since the play is not gonna happen and depression will sink in) and give ourselves a couple of days to just understand what's happening?
Vladamir Orlovsky
Im down with some prancy bard killing, but if yall dont wanna risk it im fine with that too.. Ill be taking over for Bellam asap..
Argan Midnight
If we mess the castle up tonight do you think they will have time to recover before the army gathers?
Cause as much as I remember we have some easy things to do:
- Burn/Steal the arrows
- Steal the weapons on the armory
- Burn/Steal the rations on the underground.
- Burn/Steal the rations on both sides of the gatehouse.
- Kill whoever is sleeping in those laaaaaaarge chambers.
We could come up with a good plan to do all that at once, but maybe not now...
Argan's hearth stops beating everytime someone mentions the word Burn instead of Steal.... I wish we had a larger bag of holding...
Goodie Thornmaple
Shouldn't we do that sort of terrorism closer to the invasion date so that there is less time to replace those arrows and rations? Though I think that's something we should totally do, along with break the Treb. Totally up for murdering leaders though. Who first? We could kill that one captain and his lover, wait for the other one to return and make it look like a murder/suicide.
Argan Midnight
I agree with you. Strike all at once closer to when the army gathers. But Havelyn is a problem. He's the one picturing out what's happening, so we need to take him out soon...
Kharn the Binder *Cleaned-Up*
Maybe we can also try and get those tribesmen we encountered to start raiding the wall a bit, or join the bugbear army in return for weapons?
Vladamir Orlovsky
I say kill them while their banging and pin in on her husband, the other captain, and kill 2 birds with 1 stone..
I agree though Havelyn is to smart to be kept alive.. Perhaps a good dose of potent posion in his food Goodie?
Goodie Thornmaple
I don't want to do a double poisoning. That would make them more leery of their food. I do think sneaking in and murdering him is a good idea though. Maybe those people good with stealth could coup de grace him in his sleeps.
I'm so down with killing the captains. Let's do it.
Vladamir Orlovsky
Alrighty, but tonight i wanna take Bellam.. That is if he goes for the cellar.. If he doesnt im down for some castle mischief.. We need to wait on destroying the place though.. To much time for them to restock, or even call in support from the south.. The priest might also need to meet his end soon..
Goodie Thornmaple
Argan, if the lord were murdered in his sleep would you want to try to assume his identity? This would allay suspicion if all their leadership starts dying and puts you in an excellent spot to do more bad things.
Argan Midnight

They are like, 150 miles away and behind a huge lake... I don't think that will work, Kharn.
Shouldn't we lay low for a couple days to make them relax? Otherwise since they are already suspecting something is wrong, killing anyone else would put them on red alert...
Or we could go scouting the surrounding lands a bit, maybe burn a farm or two to call their attention elsewhere. If they are indeed looking for the dwarves, there will be several parties scouting away, so we could kill them easily separated and make the numbers more favored for us.

Awesome idea, Goodie, but I would need some more knowledge about him, the way he speaks, his voice, his demeanor, who does he trust and what does he usually say. I could send Donaggin to execution if we're able to forge the letter I've rumored about...
Can you study about the archons I've encountered Goodie? Eventually we may have to face them...
Goodie Thornmaple
Pin more things on the dwarves. "The dwarves! They are in the walls!"
I think we need to make replacing him a priority. How long do you think you wiould need to gather info about him?
Argan Midnight
Since I know nothing about the chain of command, his personal details and the everyday inside the tower? A lot. It would be easier to start with a soldier, then learn whatever we can to help with that...
Goodie Thornmaple
Then lets get on that. If doppelgangers can do it, it cannot be that hard. ;-)
The more I think about it, the more I think that killing and replacing him should be a major goal of ours. Pick a soldier and start info gathering.
Argan Midnight
Havelyn is not part of the love triangle Eryan...
Argan Midnight
Kharn has the best perception, Vlad. But if you want me to go take a look just say so, I've got nothing to do ATM, and I'm tired of studying.
Vladamir Orlovsky
I was just looking to be able to assist a take 20 and end up 30 or higher.. I doubt he has anything hid better than a 30.. Your +8 will get that done so by all means.. Figure we can question him after he wakes up..
Argan Midnight
I'm also off to bed, then... Cya
Argan Midnight
I see a red scarf and
I want to paint it black
No mantis anymore
I want them to turn black!
Vladamir Orlovsky
Well i figured this guy to know more, being to the only tavern in the town.. Normally the town barkeep is the #1 source of info lol.. Oh well.. If yall have nothing else we can move on from him..
Argan Midnight
Because if he doesn't know it his wife is gonna be killed! That's why ^_^
Vladamir Orlovsky
Lol.. Im gonna have my hands full keeping this tavern up and running with the man dead.. Ive watched him for several days so i should be fine, but I might end up needing help depending.. If anyone asks im gonna run with my wife being sick for now..
Argan Midnight
Sick wife brings visitors... including unwanted priests, but maybe a Donnagin or two...
Vladamir Orlovsky
For the first few days i wouldnt think so, but yea after being sick a week we could prob send for Donnagin and get rid of him as well..
