With increased vigor from Markus' spell. Morbar wades into the room and goes straight at the caster pointed out by his companion, ignoring everyone else in the way.

Going with the increased move speed to reach Blue, and whacking her over the head :D

"Let's end THIS!" - he swings his hammer hard over his head.

The closest monk spins even after being slammed by Erek and unleashes a blistering flurry of punches and kicks but although some get through Erek's defences, his divine-powered form simply resists any damage they might deal.

Red, Morbar: 1d20 + 10 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 10 + 2 = 13 Miss

Yellow, flank, Morbar: 1d20 + 10 + 4 + 2 ⇒ (5) + 10 + 4 + 2 = 21 Miss

Blue, confirm: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (16) + 10 = 26 Confirmed
Negative levels: 4d4 ⇒ (4, 4, 1, 4) = 13

Morbar is not so fortunate. Within an instant he finds himself surrounded by monks. Two of them slash at him with kicks that simply rebound off his stout armour, but his plate can do nothing against the focussed energy of the lazurite.

The monk before him, still reeling from the powerful blow the dwarf dealt, raises the metal and glass lens of the necromantic focus and presses it against Morbar's chest.

Black energy flows through it like grim lightning. It flashes through the dwarf, snuffing out his very life essence as one might snuff out a candle. Slowly, like a tree falling, the dwarf topples and crashes to the ground.

Incredibly unlucky to take a crit on that and double damage and even more so to take exactly the amount of negative levels to kill him outright. Nevertheless, Morbar is dead.

Before you ask, this is dealt with like a touch attack and specifically does not cause an AOO

Black, Jon: 1d20 + 10 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 10 + 2 = 14 Miss

Cyan, Jon: 1d20 + 10 + 2 ⇒ (15) + 10 + 2 = 27 Hit
Damage: 1d10 + 3 ⇒ (6) + 3 = 9

Buoyed by their success, the other two monks close in on Jon. One sends a punch wide as he sways aside but the other lands a punishing blow in his midrif.

Knowledge Religion DC 30:

Even as Morbar collapses, the dark presence of Renchurch begins to pulsate around him with long fingers of black etherial energy claw at him.

In horror, you realise that the very putrid evil of this place is binding his soul.

The soul of a living creature who dies within the halls of Renchurch Cathedral or its catacombs is soured and corrupted by the cathedral’s malign influence, manifesting near the scene of its death 1d4 hours later as a haunt with a CR equal to its original Hit Dice and its alignment shifted to evil. Similar to a soul bind effect (CL 20th), the souls are trapped within the cathedral itself, and spells such as breath of life, raise dead, reincarnation, and resurrection function only if both the soul and the body are removed from the cathedral. Such spells always fail if bodies are removed from Renchurch without the retrieval of their trapped souls as well. Dispel magic, greater dispel magic, or dispel evil cast at the resulting haunt’s site can be used to temporarily free a bound soul, but the creature must be revived within 1 hour or the soul is shunted back into the walls of Renchurch to form a haunt again.

Sorry Cara, I actually pre-empted that question in the post itself:

Before you ask, this is dealt with like a touch attack and specifically does not cause an AOO

But I suspect it was a long post and got lost in there somewhere - basically it was like a stored touch spell.

Markus looks around looking high strung he desperately wants to keep moving but heads over to their fallen friend. YOU PAID FOR THIS!! Jon screams as he grabs the man roughly by the throat and drags him up to eye level his nails digging deeply into his flesh as he resists the urge to tear out his throat.
You piece of s$~%! You want to f#&#ing die? Well that can be arranged easily enough, it would be my pleasure

[dice=intimidate]1d20+17

start talking, tell us everything you know about this place or I will make your passing into the next life as painful as I possibly can Jon growls, his voice cold.

Not die... live... forever.... the man chokes under Jon's grip. That's... what I came here.... for. You ruined it.... ruined ... everything.

As Jon throws him roughly back down into the chair he coughs and splutters before catching his breath.

What do you think I know about this place? I just came here with money to ask them to turn me. I heard a few of them talking about some important prisoner down in the catacombs but that's none of my business and these aren't the kinds of people you ask questions of.

Loot from monks:

Besides a crumpled pile of clothes that reek of grave dirt, a large sack contains what appears to be this man's payment for his transformation: 10 diamonds worth 500 gp each, and an ebony fly figurine of wondrous power decorated with the skull motif of Urgathoa.

With the combat over, the terrible cost dawns on Erek. He looks down Arby's morbar's body with deep sadness and regret and says "He was a fine warrior, brace and true but we have no time to mourn him. We are in the lair of the beast and it has just shown just how deadly it is. All the more reason to destroy it. Come on!"

He picks up Morbar and says to markus. "Time to use that bag of yours."

Together they place the corpse and his gear inside Markus' bag of holding then the inquisitor stands over the man menacingly. "What is your name?" he demands coldly. "I do not have time now but you will face Iimadae's judgement for this. When I have finished destroying this war of evil I will find you and then you will do penance.". He waits for the man to give his name then says "Het out of here worm." and strides to the next door. Without pause he pushes it open.

Erek shoves open the door, his holy magic still active.

Dozens of moldering relics litter this room, some haphazardly crammed into gilded display cases, others arranged with care and placed on tarnished stands.

The sound of grating stone is louder now. It occurs every few seconds and appears to be coming from the room north of here.

Jon shakes his head at the mans incredible foolishness
live forever? You god dammned fool. Jon says sadly as he looks at the pathetic man.
the prisoner must be Kendra. We must find a way down to These catacombs , let us finish this
He says as he grimly follows Erek into the next room, he must focus on the task at hand he cannot let himself think about Morbar.

that's one down Jon....and five more to go. Yo are all going to rot here forever the chill voice chuckles in his ear and he tries his best to ignore it

"Leave him here we'll let him go later, he can think on just want he wants out of life." Markus turns and follows Erek wanting to keep up.

"Be very careful. These could be cursed, haunted or worse." He slowly move into the room looking over the shelves casting detect magic.

There is nothing magical. However, most of the relics are likely very valuable in certain quarters and several wands, exquisitly made, but now non-magical.

You can't tell how much this stuff is worth at a glance so it depends how long you spend looking through things.

The noise from next door continues.

"Nothing here is of use, let's keep moving." He says pushes through the room but keeping an eye out for anything that might be trapped. Getting to the door he checks it over before opening.

As soon as Markus opens the door the source of the grating stone is revealed.

Ancient sarcophagi lean haphazardly along the walls here. Stained teacups and cracked saucers are set on a low table, next to a matching teapot sitting atop a silver warmer. The gruesome remains of a desiccated human forearm lies on a small chopping block among powdered remnants of a bitumen-soaked shroud.

Six of the sarcophagi lie open and a seventh is in the process of slowly opening itself, revealing a dusty, dessicated corpse within. Wrapped from head to toe in ancient strips of moldering linen, the humanoids within the sarcophagi begin moving toward you with a shuffling gait.

Can anyone apart from Cara see invisibility currently?

Davos will: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (18) + 13 = 31 Success

Double damage to all of them is fine

Though some of the wrappings on the Mummys singe and burn, they are clearly resistant to Davos' spell

You can see two shadowy figures in the room as well as the mummies
