Round 7 - Enemy

The massive lobster-creature stomps toward Jon, it's heavy footsteps thudding ominously on the paved floor of the church. It lurches out with one massive claw and in a motion practiced over millions of years of evolution of it's kind, snatches him up like a fish.

The priests around Seb keep falling, one after the other. There seems little they can do to prevent it as yet again they find striking him is like trying to hit the wind.

Davos slips out of the priest's grasp and flies straight up toward the ceiling. Unfortunately for him the priest is as fickle as the sea and he holds up a hidden symbol and chants a single word. Suddenly, the wizard finds himself drifting slowly back down to the ground.

Morbar, in stark contrast to Sebastian, relies on his heavy armor and his surprising flexibility of movement to defletc attacks which once again he does so with great effect.

Seeing Jon get picked up by the creature Markus reactions are quick as he mimics pulling Jon out of the creatures grasp.

Casting Liberating Command immediate action on Jon

"Its resistant to some attack and grapples it's prey then paralyses them! we have to help Jon." Markus shouts hovering above the battlefield, as he watches the others fight on.

Knowing that the creature needs to die he flies down to Cara and touches her granting her a bit of luck. "Kill that creature Cara!"

Wow, this thing is tougher than I thought. Great damage but it isn't dead sadly.

Round 8 - Enemy

Cara's arrows lance into the hard carapace of the lobster-like creature, either punching through or finding the small, sensitive parts in it's otherwise armored shell.

It hwls in pain, an ungodly sound, and though great gouts of black blood spurt out, it remains standing.

Scion reflex: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (16) + 8 = 24 Success

Jon's hellfire barely touches the thing. The burst of flame slides over it like fire over water and it appears unscathed.

Jon free escape artist check: 1d20 + 16 ⇒ (5) + 16 = 21 Fail

The terror maintains it's grasp on Jon, punching it's other claw through it's armor, and ripping it out the side, sending a huge spray of blood spattering over the paved floor.

Grapple check to deal damage: 1d20 + 19 ⇒ (18) + 19 = 37 Success
Damage: 2d6 + 7 + 10 ⇒ (6, 4) + 7 + 10 = 27

Davos remains untouchable, his spell concealing him easily from the priest's clumsy swing.

A living bolt of lightning springs into being, crackling over every surface as it elongates itself and sparks out toward Morbar, sending agonizing blasts of electricity along his metal suit.

Then, frustrated that he is no match for the warrior in battle, the priest draws a scroll from his pouch and reads it aloud, sending a huge shower of ice crystals lancing out over the dwarf, piercing his flesh wherever it is exposed.

Struggling desperately against the creatures immense strength Jon knows it is useless and he grits his teeth against the agony as the creature tears into him.
Refusing to cry out he fights the rising tide of agony until the darkness descends.
As his chest is crushed and the shards of his ribs puncture his lungs he blacks out, the sudden loss of blood is too much.
His hands relax as he loses control of his body and his sword falls from his limp fingers and just before he completely passes out he hears a wicked familiar laugh and his blade flies off across the room.

Seeing the chain unable to effect the creature Markus sends it to the corner where a priest stands alone, the last place he saw Davos. "Davos, Jon is down we need your help now!" L11

It slashes out attempting to trip the priest.

He then turns his back on Jon staring at the large elemental he utters a few commanding words and shouts for the elemental to attack the priest next to him.

Casting Control Summoned Creature will save of 20 if it fails make it attack the priest who summoned him. - Also that's my third 14 rolled on the chain now.

He then turns to Jon seeing his limp body he flies down touching his him and Cara then wills them all away.

Jam, I apologize for the incorrection, I double checked the Fervor buff from before, and I was already applying it to my attack rolls (chose the option to 'Gain a +2 bonus on attack rolls and a +2 dodge bonus to AC and Reflex saves'), so please disregards those last two here.

As the monstrosity disappears, Caradwen cannot be sure if it simply ran away, was dispelled, or became invisible (she shudders at that last thought). But she does not hesitate, whirling around, and launching three arrows at the priest that has been peppering them with spells - "Now US!"

I don't see that creature anywhere, it escaped somehow I'm guessing Jon says as he moves toward the priest we will ask this bastard where it is and then when I find it I am going to kill it, next time I will be ready. It won't be grabbing me again! he says anger in his voice.

Ripping the sashes off of the dead priests he kicks the high priest over and roughly ties his hands taking care to lash his fingers together so he cannot gesture or cast spells.
His feet he binds next and yanks them up behind his back and ties them to his hands.
Stepping back he draws Woundweaver and rests his hands on the hilt and waits for the man to regain consciousness.
As he waits he almost unconsciously takes on his demon form, his skin darkening and his eyes blazing with rings of fire even as his great wings unfurl behind him.

do I need to roll for the hog tie j? I will take 10 on it anyway but I'm not sure what modifier to add to it

This small chapel contains an altar of green stone at it's far end. A mosaic on the wall above the altar depicts a creature that appears to be a mixture of fish, frog and human. The air is thick with the smell of rotting fish.
