The following is the recruitment thread for Dead Suns 1: Incident at Absalom Station, my contribution to PbP Gameday VII. Actual recruitment will be taking place on a Google Sheet I have created for the purpose. Please see the main campaign tab for more details on how I operate PbP games (standard fare, really).
My experience with PbP games and Incident at Absalom Station is that the 90-day window will be quite tight for an AP. However, I will do my best to ensure that players get a full and enjoyable experience from this adventure. That being said, my preference is to run this in campaign mode with characters starting at level 2. Campaign mode will allow me the flexibility to bend a rule here and there to ensure the story gets presented in its entirety and we don't get hung up on one of the numerous combats.
The Adventure Path is balanced around four players, however I will be capping this table at six. In the event of a low turn-out, I will be requiring at least four players.
As a participating table in PbP Gameday VII, this adventure will begin Sunday, August 12th, 2018.
Please feel free to ask me any additional follow-up questions.

Hi ^^. I have signed up but full disclosure - I have ran this before. If you would prefer someone who is new to the adventure I understand ^^
Quite the contrary -- if you're like me, you tend to GM more than play, so I would absolutely love to have you.
Since we're doing campaign mode, and I have a few ideas to make loot a bit more interesting, it will hopefully be different enough for you. :)
Welcome aboard.

Sethran here! I have jotted down my ideas for a character, will work on a bit of backstory and description over the weekend. Have gone for a heavy weapon based fighter, looking at pilot. If anyone needs me to change anything just let me know ^^
-The details I have put in the google spreadsheet are for the SFS character to put the chronicle on ^^-

I ended up signing the google sheet before seeing this. I simply clicked on the link from Gameday listing, and I took me straight to the spreadsheet. Some DMs won't make a thread until the day of, so I assumed that because the link took me to the spreadsheet and not the recruitment page that you didn't make one.

It was kind of "chicken or egg?" deal... It seemed like the majority of GMs using a spreadsheet were linking to it. I like to pre-plan, so I went ahead and made the relevant threads.
Regardless, you're on the list. Welcome aboard!

I had to switch the character being used, cause I just realized Huckle is level 3 now, I counted chronicles, but forgot to count my one Dming chronicle.
Character I will be using is now a level 1 Technomancer instead.
We will actually be running this AP in "campaign mode", which means your character does not have to exist in Society... you'll apply the earned credit to a character level 1-2. I am asking players to create a 2nd level character for this adventure (in part to help us get through the content in the time frame allotted).
Campaign Mode also gives us some additional flexibility with how we handle the book's content, versus beholden to running it 100% as-written.

Sweet! Again, though bolded missed that part, cause it being listed under gameday tags, I took it as gameday/SFS play.
Alright, better get busy making a badass level 2 character.
Question: Since this isn't SFS but for SFS credit, can I use an alien archive race? I unlocked it during the time it was ran, and this would be a good chance to test it out before playing it on an actual SFS character.

It's still gameday/SFS, but the challenge I had was how to fit a 3-slot adventure into a 2-slot time-frame. Running it for SFS characters, and by extension, exactly as written meant running the risk of going over and players being extremely under-powered during the last few encounters. Being able to run Campaign Mode gives me the flexibility I need, and the extra juice the players need, to have an non-abbreviated experience in the time frame allotted.
While originally my preference was Core/Legacy only, I think I'm going to lift that and allow Alien Archive as well. Equipment will still be limited to Core.

Since we are making wholly new PCs for campaign mode, I was wondering what the other players were considering.
I currently have ideas for the following:
1) a cold, anatomist-type android operative who desires to disassemble organics to see how they function.
2) the former sheriff of an old mining town on Akiton, whose looking to make it big after an accident required him to utilize augmentations as replacement limbs. I am thinking this would be a human operative/mechanic build..
3) a vesk gladiator that hopes the peace with between his kind and the Pact Worlds will finally cease. Soldier build.
4) a halfling hacker, probably with augments taboo among his people. Operative build.

I built an adolescent Vesk who has recently graduated from the academy at Vesk Prime and has been seconded to the Starfinder society as a sort of exchange program. Graduated as a fighter pilot and specialises in heavy weapons.
Sharpshoot Soldier (Ace Pilot) Vesk.
I am happy to change it up if people prefer.

The two PCs posted so far look great to me!
Thinking ahead to starship combat, we have piloting and gunnery covered. That's great as most of my proposals are for operatives, who can usually cover engineering, computers, and/or social skills.
I am leaning towards playing the very, anti-social android, as the campaign mode provides an opportunity, perhaps, to play up his anti-organic tendencies that may not work as well in regular SFS play. This build would cover engineering and computers pretty well, but leave a gap in social skills.
Otherwise, if we have no other characters with a social bend, I would play the operative/mechanic sheriff build, who would cover social skills and, too some extent, the engineering and computers as well. In stark contrast to the android PC, this character would be far more centered on using non-lethal force when possible and adhering to the law.
Any thoughts, preferences?

Apologies for not being active this week. I'm wrapping up a pretty wicked stint at work, and things will be relaxing just in time for the PbP to start. I'm seeing some fun stuff in here; definitely looking forward to running for this crew.
If you have a character built, please feel free to peruse the gameplay thread early. There's already some "setup" and some scene-establishing questions if you would like to set the mood.
So, just a quick role-call... I've got the following individuals on the Google Sheet signup:
xmiyux Personal friend of mine and new to PbP, I'll check in with him
Sethran Active; Vesk Character
Luke_Parry Going by another name?
Lysle Active; Character "Sev"
LordIceDrake Active; Character(?) "Rush"
DoubleGold Active; Character "Jax Kraven"

There has been a lot of talk in the Recruitment tab, but just a reminder, we do have a Discussion area that can be used (or, has been getting use by me) for OOC content.
