Kom and Fel both sit back, watching. Things are balanced, for now, despite Evenroe's intervention. Leviathan's power is leaking into the world, but it's leaking with no rhyme or reason, which means chaos is ensuring it falls as equally on the good and lawful as it does on the chaotic and evil. Fel smiles, watching chaos bring balance where order would have ruined it. ![]()

Fel again whispers madness into Kom's ear, and he nods, again taking on his Avatar form and walking the world. He moves through the Harrowood, whispering into the Fey races ears. They take boats and spread to the main continent, there each sub-branch building a city. Give 18 power to Kom

![]() Yes, one reason Fel advanced them again in magic and related fields. Got to keep them ahead of the curve so they can maintain the balance. Plus the vassal races help by absorbing some of their knowledge over the centuries. I foresee that the Fey will be the magical giants of the world, even the tiny ones. But their knowledge will pale next to the Ur'Fey, who shall remain a shadowy secretive force and the source of many arcane and unfathomable plots that take generations to complete. :) ![]()
![]() Fel watches Yidhra and Yidhra, and gives a small sigh of contentment. "Finally, someone who understands the mad dance. You may visit my island at any time... or rather, you may assume your avatar form and visit. Please don't visit in your natural form... unless you warn the Ur'Fey first of course." She smiles, idly considering giving herself a personal avatar form, but then, she'd be copying someone else. ![]()
![]() Not at all, fits them fine. Although if you reread their racial ability, loss of a few would not result in any lessening of their ability to react. :) Gather Power Fel: 3d6 + 18 ⇒ (6, 2, 5) + 18 = 31
Fel whispers madness into Kom's ear, and the demigod nods as a portion of Fel's power enters him. Give 21 pt Fel then sends nightmares to every creature on the planet during the long 36 hours of darkness from the eclipse. The Ur'Fey merely have waking visions, which do not even slow them down they are so used to them. Everyone else greets the dawn with hope and terror still in their hearts. Event 7 pts, THE GREAT NIGHTMARE, recurs every solar eclipse, 3 remain Kom meanwhile, waits for the Ur'Fey to recover from the Arcania (as it comes to be known), and teaches them more information, which they in turn dissemenate to the Fey in drips and drabs over the centuries. ![]() Just a note, it is getting rather old that everyone plays their concepts so that they invalidate my concept. Just pointing out that it's a tiny bit offputting to have Fel treat you as your concept, but have Fel treated as a joke rather than a dark scary mistress of nightmares and shadow. If I'd wanted to have a comic god, I'd have created one. I suppose I could start playing as a jerk and undoing everyone else's stuff, but that plays against concept as the mad goddess of balance. ![]()

Fel smiles and reaches back in time to where she intentionally overspent on an event, and draws 3 pts of power to the current time. From the shadows around Caysin, her voice echoes randomly. "It is often true that that which scares is the darkness within one's own heart..." Caysin's chest begins to hurt, his heart to pound, and sweat to pour from his body. His entire body jerks, and the sound of a rib cracking can be heard through the cosmos. Then Caysin's body jerks again, and another rib can be heard to crack. And then his colorful clothes become more colorful as blood begins pulsing through the cloth around his heart. And then the clothes rip open explosively as Caysin falls back. From the eruption in Caysin's chest climbs out a bloody evil looking... Caysin. But he wears black and gray and white under the blood. His black eyes are beedy, and his beard and mustache are black. "Oooh, Nisyac is here. Time to curdle milk, cheat, and steal." Fel smiles. "A gift for you Caysin, you're own avatar." The Fel blows a kiss to Nisyac, who catches it with an evil cackle, and the cosmos reverberates as Nisyac ascends. "Oh dear, you don't seem to have taken good care of your avatar, Caysin..." Fel comments with a tch tch sound. "Oh well, you now have a dance partner for the spiral of madness... Am I scary?" She asks with a full throated laugh. Create Avatar (7), Event Ascend Avatar (7). ![]() I believe that now that we're in the second age, the gods have more restrictions on actually going to the planet, so they need avatars to communicate with followers or do things with races. Plus you can command your avatar to give a race you didn't create an order. You don't need it for a race you did create. So, basically, if you want to have followers amongst the Fey, you need an Avatar to give those Fey orders/commands (which I think include advancing them). ![]()
![]() Fel is a black skinned Centaur that drips shadow. "Oh, I am not scary? I see..." The centauress's words drip and she vanishes into the darkness. Creatures made of shadow begin to gather around Caysin, horrible mixtures of crab fish and man, and octopi and human, and spider and bear, dozens of them, all with glowing red eyes. ![]()
![]() I think it might be simpler to just say creating a sub-race creates all variations on the main race. Thus, Dragons are a main race. Sub-Race (Half-dragon) handles dragonnes, half-human half-dragon, dragon horses, dragon turtles, Linnorms, etc. Gets the same flavor, and saves time. Humans are a main race, Suli, Sylph, Ifrit, dhampir, etc are all Sub-Race (Humans). ![]()
![]() Fel looks at Caysin mildly amused. "The Nightmare has never been 'ascended'. She existed before even non-existence." Her form becomes even more dark and shadows drip from it so heavily that the very ether becomes choked with darkness. Kom stands up straight and flexes his muscles as golden light drips from his form. "I have only recently ascended, I admit. However, I feel as though I have known the proper laws for the wyld since the inception of all." ![]()

Kom descends to the world, for he is both Demigod and Avatar, and may be in both the heavens and the material plane without damaging it. "Ur'Fey, pay me heed. The lesser races are born. It is time for you to enter your Isolation. Gather up your knowledge and your crystals, say goodbye to your child races, and take up the mantle of protectors. Toil in your laboratories, research in your homes, but walk not the world unless the balance is endangered. Kill any who invade your refuges." The Ur'fey rise up as one mass, and retire to their various retreats, researching knowledge and leaving the world to be looked after by their Mistress, knowing they will be called on as needed. Kom spends 4 pts, Command Race, 2 remain. Ur'Fey become 'Active but Hidden from Common Knowledge'. Fel smiles and nods, watching her first creations enter their homes and labs. She knows that what knowledge they gain, their offspring shall as well, for they are still related. She sends waking nightmares to her beloved Ur'Fey, inspiring them to more knowledge. The Ur'Fey master the Written Word, so that they may send missives to their children, teaching them. Upon the Isle of Madness, the Fey build the great Spiral City. Fel spends 9, retaining 2 ![]()
![]() If we're going to have the bestiary races in the world, we're going to need a VERY LONG time for everyone to create goblins, hobgoblins, bugbears, kobolds, svirneflim, duerger, dwarves, elves, half-elves, orcs, oni, half-orcs, half-dragons, dragons, dragonnes, etc. :) At 4 per, we're talking several thousand pts. :) ![]()
![]() Oh, that's fairly simple. Gather power, spend points. Rules are at the top, they're not complicated. If it's something not listed, it's usually a 10 pt event. For example, there is no 'raise avatar to Demigod' power, so it's a 10 pt event. Subraces from existing races is pretty flexible. You don't have to create Dwarfs, Duerger, and Aquatic Dwarfs as 3 different subraces. You can just create 'Dwarven' as a subrace, and all 3 are considered created. I spent like 20 pts to basically create every fey in the bestiary, as subraces from the Ur'Fey race. Insectile Fey, Humanoid Fey, Bestial Fey, etc. Basically, just do the best you can and people will help. ![]()
![]() Gather: 5d6 + 21 ⇒ (2, 4, 3, 3, 1) + 21 = 34 Fel descends to her island, and gathers all the Ur'Fey, including Kom Thunderhoof. "Now is the time to spring forth variety upon the world. It is necessary for an abundance of life to exist, with many ways of thinking and seeing the world." The Ur'Fey pair off. While each is different from any other Ur'Fey, they are all matched to a mate who is like them, but opposite gender. Per the rules, you don't have to keep track of all the sub-races, like dwarf vs hill dwarf vs deep dwarf vs duerger vs whatever, a single sub-race creation works for all, since they are variations on the original race. Fel's is a bit more ambitious, so I'll spend more than 4 pts, but should be fine. A myriad of Fey races are founded, each with the ability to interbreed with non-fey races to create more fey races. Insectile Fey 4 pts
She then takes Kom's hand. "Come my mate, ascend." Kom ascends to demigod status. 10 pts, Event, Ascension 30 pts spent, 4 remaining. Being a Demigod, does Kom gather power now as well? ![]()
![]() Fel makes a place for Hexavos to rest in the Lake of Shadows. "You may rest here, the Ur-Fey shall watch over your sleep." Gather POwer: 3d6 + 1 + 3 ⇒ (4, 3, 2) + 1 + 3 = 13 Fel pulls in power, and relaxes, watching the world, the avatar, and the newly formed planes. She likes the balance so far, no one power or creature has more power than the others, and the world is poised to remain in balance. Seeing nothing she needs to adjust, she ponders what else can be added to further ensure balance holds sway. ![]()
![]() Fel watches Yidhra finally begin to use her power, and see's that nothing untoward is done. Relaxing a fraction toward the goddess, Fel watches as an Avatar is created. Nodding, she smiles. "It is good... I had wondered when such would begin..." Fel reaches out to the dreamplane, and begins gathering the nightmares that have accumulated there, left by frightened youth, or scared adults, all the terror and uncontrolled fear, and draws it into herself. The dreamplane is cleansed of it's nightmares for a time, and peaceful sleep as a boon descends on the sleepers of the world for a generation. That nightmare energy is bound up with a pulse of energy, and it is then driven into the heart of the 9,999th Ur-fey. This ur-fey, a male centaur, staggers and is forever both Ur-Fey and something else, more powerful. The Avatar staggers under the assault of all the nightmares, but comes out of the experience more powerful than before. His hair turns bone white, his skin grows pale, his eyes grow solid black. He spears his hand into the First Oak, the first tree that grew up on Fel's Isle, and pulls out a perfectly formed composite bow. He reaches into the First Ash, and pulls out a hand full of magic arrows, which go into a quiver that forms on his back. He then repeats the gestures, this time pulling a bow from the First Ebony tree, pulling out a dark bow. He pulls more arrows from the First Blackwood tree, and hands both to Fel. As Fel's hands touch the Ebony Bow, shadows begin to drip from it. Her Avatar however, drips light from his bow as he touches it, the light wood glowing with a warm healing light. "Thou art Kom Thunderhoof." She tells the Avatar. "Thou shalt ascend, one day, to be my mate, when it is time to populate the world with more species. Until then, watch the world, sooth the injured, and think on the laws that civilization will need, for I am not a good judge of structures, I am more comfortable in whirling chaos." Kom nods, and begins to walk the earth, attempting to gather up followers for his goddess, and trying to decide on the rules of nature. 10 spent, 3 remaining ![]()
![]() Gather: 3d6 + 13 ⇒ (5, 2, 1) + 13 = 21 Fel sees the winds struggle to keep clouds flowing over and around the mountains in the center of the continent, and the ocean struggling over the sea mountains, trying to bring blessed coolness down, and reaches out her hand. "Relax, oh wind, and o waves, for thou hath done what thou canst. Foolish gods we are to ask you to work so hard to keep this bit green. Go about your normal paths unfettered, and fear not for reprisal. Thou shalt not be held accountable." The winds and waves cease their struggles, and the central portion of the continent dries up to sand in a decade. With no war and their natural toughness, their numbers stay at 99,999. Fel eyes Yidhra, and the massive amount of power she's accumulated, and the balancer relaxes herself, sitting on the power she has for now. "I have been working entirely too much, it is time to be lazy." ![]()
![]() Gather Power: 3d6 + 15 ⇒ (4, 3, 2) + 15 = 24 Now that the world is back on course, Fel returns to the island she was working on, and implements the next part of her mad plan to keep the world balanced. She wanders the island, touching crystals. Mad whispers follow her, one.. two.. one hundred ninety two... four thousand eight hundred forty seven... and finally... nine thousand, nine hundred, and ninety nine. And when the whispers hit their gibbering climax, Fel releases a pulse of energy through the crystals, and they all begin to show cracks, from the greatest to the least... ...forms step out of the crystals, the cracks they leave sealing over, but not without leaving a few shards of purple crystal in the body of each of the creatures that steps out. No two are the same, some are gorgeous beyond comprehension, some are hideous beyond nightmare. Some are as tall as the trees, and others as tall as a blade of grass. Some have two arms and legs, some have no arms and eight legs, some have four arms and two legs. Each and every one has a matched mate though, one different yet similar enough. And yet, they do not mate, not now, it is not the right time. Instead, they grow their power and bide their time, learning about this world, about themselves. The power of each is terrifying, each worth a thousand mortals. They do not age, they do not sleep, they do not tire. They are the Ur-Fey, and their only purpose is to maintain the balance on this new planet, and they will bring the full might of their wrath down on any who through willfulness or stupidity try to unmake the balance. Spent 22 of 24. 2 remain. ![]()
![]() Fel nods. "Much as I'd planned. It shall have.. odd.. repercussions going forward for the economy, compared to most worlds." She seems oddly amused. Gather Power: 3d6 + 3 ⇒ (6, 3, 1) + 3 = 13 Rather than try to re-terraform what was done, she instead begins to dance in a spiral around the newly formed pits. Her hooves drop shadow into them as she dances over them, an whirlwind of fel magic drips into each and every pit, elemental madness descends into the depths of each pit, and merges, forming a spiral structure that permeates the ground, from the depths of the pits to the top, and then she closes the whirlwind and fires 6 arrows from her bow, each arcing out and landing simultaneously in the pits. Energy explodes and madness unleashes itself on that which was wrought by another. The dark madness creeps it's way into that creation, forever altering it. When the dance is done, the pits glitter darkly from surface to bottom most crevice. Where once stone and dirt held sway, the madness has concentrated things, altering not what is, but what was made. Instead of pits of stone and dirt, Fel's dance alters the original creation by reaching back in time and infecting it with her madness. Black diamond permeates all the pits, it's structure built in upon itself in a six sided pattern that provides strength. The diamond, hardest of all natural substances, and highly resistant to heat. And the perfect substance to provide a gate to the future plane of elemental earth, and at the crucial depths, where it repulses the very mantle itself, the heat will be perfect for a gate to the plane of fire. 10 pts on an Event to alter a god's previous builds ![]()
![]() "But they directly pierce the mantle. And in a circular formation. That weakens the mantle in one spot. As pressure builds with age, that entire section will become destabilized. Volcano's will grow, ash and soot will be spread, a permanent winter will occur." Fel responds, her eyes glazed over with purple mist. "Life shall wither and die, and eventually the surface will split and crack and the world itself shall shatter and become as dirt in the stream." ![]()
![]() Gathering Power Power: 3d6 + 2 + 1 ⇒ (4, 3, 4) + 2 + 1 = 14 Power rises from 1 to 14 Fel continues her walk along the island, and mountains and trees spring up around her. As she continues to walk the spiral, her steps become a dance, the dance of spiraling madness. The river forges it's way to it's source, the mountains erupt from the ground, trees explode up and spread their branches with odd white leaves. As she reaches the center of the island, she dances in wild circles, her hooves flashing, her hair spinning about her as it takes on a life of it's own. Thousands, tens of thousands, of purple crystals break up out of the ground, some hundreds of feet high, some mere inches. A dark lake explodes upwards in a fountain of dark water, and the river has it's source, the two joining with a crash of water. White leafed trees erupt from the ground around the lake, and pale white grass springs from the ground. Odd black and purple flowers bloom in clearings. 4 hexes terraformed : 12 pts When complete, she stands on the dark lake, and looks above, and waves her hand. Cold and moist winds begin to compete over the island, forced in by the spiraled mountains. A permanent cloud cover forms over the interior of the island, blocking all light. Yet.. there is light... as the giant purple crystals glow in the darkness, providing an odd light that distorts all normal color. The leaves of the white trees begin to glow in the purple light, shedding yet more light of a pale green nature. The grass as well. The odd black and purple flowers erupt in a riot of unnatural color under the dark light, oranges, blues, reds, greens. Alter climate 1 hex : Perpetual cloud cover, spills over to nearby hexes at the edges, stopped by mountain peaks : 2 pts The cloud cover blocks all light. The crystals glow and give off ultraviolet light (black light), causing the trees to floresce, as well as the grass and flowers. Basically it looks like a 70's acid trip.
