Gather power: 3d6 + 3 ⇒ (5, 3, 4) + 3 = 15

How unexpected, nobody seems to have taken note of the Auroras. Perhaps we are all minding our own business.

Looking upon her children of living flame, Valis wills them to refine and expand the use of their bodies. Their global dances become more energetic.

Valis has gazed upon the auroras of the north and south for centuries now. She knows they are born in the great fire and connected by the planet’s sheltering energies.

It is the will of Valis that north and south know each other intimately.

And so the lights now think, and feel a passionate desire for each other.

North and south both move, then touch each other, then intertwine.

The conjugation is as beautiful to watch as it is for the participants to experience, with every color possible flowing into each other in vivid swirls.

The lights grow and cover the whole of the planet like a lover, basking in the sun’s warmth on its body. As the lights grow they become more dense and their pleasure intensifies.

The world aurora senses living warmth on the planet and seeks out new partners. The animals of the world undergo a mating frenzy, not for reproduction but for pure pleasure.

It is from intimacy with the minds of every animal that the auroras begin to think, and learn, and to care for those they wantonly connected with. The auroras notice that the atmosphere has changed, and that they must be guardians as much as lovers.

The World Aurora becomes self-aware, and the Auroras as a race are born.

Valis looks on the Silthilar in happiness as they fully mature.

She gazes upon the auroras, living fire in the sky. She knows what she will birth next.

Gather power: 3d6 + 1 ⇒ (4, 5, 3) + 1 = 13

Silthilar civilization continues to prosper, learning more of art and science. As powerful as they are now they are not yet at their prime. Planning for catastrophe is a vague notion at best.

"Fliers spread seeds so symbiosis is welcome, but I hope your race will be colorful in some way. It is not the dove that best represents the holy spirit but the parrot."

I'm glad I got something from being forced to write about Flaubert's "A Simple Heart."

Gather power: 3d6 ⇒ (3, 2, 4) = 9

Valis feels the time is right for life to begin. Now what would be an ideal first race?

Panmorphe, the time has come to bear fruit. With that, the avatar of Valis swims to the large equilateral island south of the northern vents. Once there, she rests at the southwest corner, right where the southern vent’s nutrients are carried by the sea, and morphs into a great breathing fern. She draws energy from sunlight, food from the wind and water, and grows.

Panmorphe becomes a single-entity forest in mere decades, and is now the right size to give birth. Trillions of buds form on her fronds, then float away and coalesce into a thick green mist.

Behold, Panmorphe, for the glory of your birthright is to birth glory itself. These children are the Silthilar, life shaped to shape life itself. Let us care for and guide our children.

And so it was that the Lifeshapers built the Creche, and within mere centuries became masters of life and beauty.

Valis I noticed you rolled twice for power gain, I did not mean to cause confusion but I meant for the 5d6 to replace the 3d6 not to be rolled together, would you rather subtract the power gain from one of those now or just use one of those as your power results next turn?

I'll just not roll this turn. Will that work?

The time is not yet right for me to create life. I seem to be at a loss for something to do. Perhaps the next era will be more suitable for life to flourish.

Valis manifests as an amniotic form at the northern vent. Rapidly, as far as geologic time goes, the liquid withing Valis congeals. It eventually becomes semi-solid and moves on its own.

"Awaken, my child, and embrace the glory that is your birthright. Know that you are Panmorphe, She of All Forms, and manifestation of my will and dominion. Your first gift will be a sacred earthly realm to reside in."

At this, Valis guides magma in a ring west of the norther vent, forming undersea mountains.

I wonder what would happen if I isolated an underwater region...

Valis wills the crust to squeeze in on itself, pushing undersea mountains upward They'd be no impediment to sea travel but underwater creatures would have to swim near the surface to pass them.

Valis look on the part of the main continent bordered by three mountain ranges. This area could become too dry.

Valis subtly reshapes the mountains and plains so that water flows down into them, resulting in three rivers polling into a great lake. Just to make sure there's enough water everywhere without flooding, Valis bends the land so that one great river flows out to sea.

"They only touch the mantle, not pierce all the way through. Still, I do see the point about vulcanism. Perhaps you can do something creative about the boreholes?"

"They're but insignificant skin piercings compared to the rest of the surface."

While they may be deep, each borehole is only several kilometers in diameter.

Gain power: 3d6 + 2 ⇒ (6, 6, 3) + 2 = 17

So much to indulge in...

Since there’s mountains on one large landmass, I think the opposed on the other end would be fitting.

With seismic power, Valis detonates the earth, rich ore exploding upwards and outwards leaving a ring of boreholes extending all the way to the mantle. Standing at one edge, a mortal could just barely see the other edge at the horizon.

Feeling the intense heat seeping from beneath the earth, Valis wonders how it will affect the weather.

Valis divides the larger continent with three hexes worth of mountain ranges.

p.7 of the official rules says we get additional power per turn if we end each turn with low totals. Does it work that way in this game?

Valis awakens, in a new world and without form.

I'm not in Albemuth?!

"Hahaha! Come now, don't be mad at me. I may have stolen you away from your little worlds but, now you have a new world ripe for the molding. I grant you power long since lost by most gods, for only those with the power of Origin can shape the world."

I suppose it could be worse, and it would be interesting to start from the beginning...and with something simple.
