Ballar sighs as his belly rumples. Starday. Starday's scurr'd fish an tapioca. Definit'ly. A second later he spots it. Like an art critic viewing a painting, the dwarf tilts his head and, speaking with his hands, points to a spot on the wall with an oddly shaped stone, Tha's tha spot. Definitely. Tis plainly tha apex o'tha masonry. Although it's bald'n a wee bit, tha arch comes ta view an...Ah, yes. There. See how tha spring'r meet at tha base?
Turning to see if anyone is paying attention, Ballar's expression freezes. A faint noise escapes his lips, Jacquelyn...

NPC: F(?) Living Construct (Scarecrow)

Day 6, afternoon (approximate time of day, 12:30 pm) (turn76, 4 of 6)
Suddenly an extraordinarily tall, almost human-like woman storms into the water-trap chamber, and sees all of you through the open doorway into the next chamber.

Terquem wrote:

She is dressed in a patchwork dress, of black and gold materials, and pieces of yellow straw extend from the sleeves. Her dress is slit on both sides and as she moves you can see the dark color of richly stained wood that make up the parts of her legs. Her face is like that of a beautiful doll. Her hair is thick and wild, black and unruly and resembles a tangle of several rolls of yarn. She has smooth, delicate features, a pleasing nose, lips like a well made bow of red ribbon, and large eyes that seem to glow a deep bluish black.

She is tall, taller than a normal human woman. And although her body seems extraordinarily well shaped, her arms and legs are even longer than they should be for a body such as hers. That incredible body is full, curvaceous, and her chest is beyond ample.

The dress she wears is held closed by large silver buttons.

There are ten buttons, but she can only fascinate…

You! the tall wooden woman points at Jim, I know you, you were with that wizard and his bird. Is he hiding in there? Come out Jasper, come out right now. You owe me a thousand gold pieces. If you don’t pay me now, I’ll take it from your friends, and I’ll make them like it!

Surely an amicable resolution can be achieved here without resorting to violence. You seem to be constructed for far more pleasurable endeavours than petty debt collection. Can they not come to some sort of other agreement or accommodation? Perhaps an exchange of services?

Besides, I can assure you they do not currently possess enough wealth to pay the debt, indicating Jim, Teirest and Ballar. If you agree to postpone the collection of said debt, I'm sure they will be happy to pay it in full in the future. Interest included of course.

After he finishes, she seems still, for a moment, then unexpectedly she smiles at him, unfolds her arms, and says

Alright then, you seem sort of cute, not as cute as that little hairy fellow standing in the corner, but cute, in your own way. And you are almost as smart as the Book of It’Dupree, he’s a friend of mine. So, it’s a deal. But, wait!

Keryth completely ignores the construct's flattery aimed at himself and raises an eyebrow when it professes its attraction to the cheese stained Ballar. Shaking his head he thinks to himself, There is one for everyone indeed.

At its demand for deposit, Keryth calmly replies, My dear, you already agreed to the deal as stated. This additional demand is tantamount to extortion. At the very least it is a counter proposal. One made under the strain of duress I might add. And as such, one that I am disinclined to accede to. We do not even know for sure that the debt you are here claiming to be owed is valid. We would demand proof of said debt before any payment would be forthcoming. Now we have offered in good faith to make good on the repayment, should it be proven that you are indeed owed this sum, we will settle up then and not before.

And as the others have reported, Berenwyr has departed for the sole purpose of settling the debt with you. What assurances do we have that he has not already paid you? Or that if he does so after we have paid, that you will return our coin to us?
