Pushing south into the misty room, you can see two large stone doors that block the only way to continue forward.

The crysmal seems to become very excited as Claustipher comes nearer, and starts moving towards him.

IF the others give the slightest hint of not caring about the gems he will toss them away from the group. Really at his age money is not a motivating factor, they were just easy to carry.

Claustipher tosses the gemstones to the crysmal. The crysmal wiggles a bit, like a cat about to pounce, then frolics amongst the gem stones before trying to swallow them hole. It seems content to completely ignore you for now.

You all reach the door, and you can hear muttering on the other side that sounds like troglodytes talking. You can also hear the muted sounds of some one in a gag.

Mainly want to know if this is going to be a hard and fast combat entrance, or a diplomatic entrance. Also, please place your tokens where you want to be in front of the door. I don't want to use a standard door order for this entrance.

:: Rova 31 - Late Morning - The Pit and Beyond ::

Falcon throws the door open.

Enormous salt crystals hang from the ceiling here, glittering in the light of a glowing blue crystal set in an inhuman, insectlike statue in the center of the floor. Mist drifts along the floor of the circular chamber, swirling in the gentle currents of air. The western wall has collapsed into stony debris, but on the eastern wall a carving of a huge, withered dragon’s face leers above a metallic door set deep in the stone. Woven mats made of dried grasses cover the floor, while bundles of dried herbs hang from the walls, filling the room with a pungent grassy odor.

Five troglodytes stand in the room. Three look like the average troglodytes you've been fighting. One looks a bit like Tanelin, likely a priest of some sort. The last has an elaborate set of clothes, and is likely the Ighiz you have heard of. Tied up at the foot of the statue is the companion you come to rescue.

Olivia's strike rips into the nearest troglodyte, causing a wound to open on it.

The troglodytes all step forward, to careful for Olivia to strike at. One attacks Falcon and the other two attack Olivia. The troglodyte attacking Falcon misses its first strike, then one the second Olivia helps come to his defense. Between Falcon's skills, Elyas' magic and Olivia's aid the next two strikes miss.

The two troglodytes attacking Olivia lay into her. One Olivia struck seems timid and can't commit to striking, failing each time. The second troglodyte snaps at Olivia, missing with its teeth. The next two strikes land on Olivia's armor winding her. Olivia takes 7 damage.

Rather than risking slipping on the grease, Alezandu remains stationary and tries to knock Ighiz out of commission with another couple of arrows before she regains her sight.

Wow, the dice really seem to hate me for some reason.

:: Rova 31 - Late Morning - The Pit and Beyond ::

I realized that per post 1395 there's actually two captive, Teaheel and Kae. I've added the extra captive to the map. And labelled them.

As Elyas' blow lands, Ighiz's body shudders. Suddenly, her skin pulses and a hail of stone shards burst from it flying violently in all directions. Olivia, Falcon, Teaheel, and Kae all get hit by the explosion, Teaheel and Kae scream and fall silent, their wounds severe. The ground is covered in loose pointed rocks making it difficult to traverse.

Ighiz's readies action went off. Everything inside the green lines is difficult terrain.

Shard Explosion Damage: 2d6 ⇒ (6, 2) = 8
Reflex Falcon: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (1) + 4 = 5
Reflex Olivia: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (1) + 8 = 9
Reflex Teaheel: 1d20 - 4 ⇒ (2) - 4 = -2
Reflex Kae: 1d20 - 5 ⇒ (15) - 5 = 10

Alezandu fires, trying to bring Ighiz down, but misses.

Alezandu it looks like the dice hate everyone currently.

Round 2 - Falcon, Olivia, Ighiz (-19,B), Elyas, Alezandu, Claustipher
Round 3 - Falcon, Olivia, Ighiz (-19), Elyas, Alezandu, Claustipher

I realized that Falcon/Olivia can go as well. So the three in bold are still up.

Falcon trips Ighiz, but she squirms out of range of his stomp. Olivia heals Teaheel and the bleeding slows to a stop, his wounds knitting shut. Claustipher seems hesitant to move and not sure what to do. Claustipher delays.

Ighiz stands weathering the storm from Falcon to do so. Falcon make an AoO. Not sure what weapon you want to use. Ighiz begins to chant, arms waving in a defensive manner. After a moment the spell fizzles and Ighiz screams in rage. Failed at casting defensively.

Spoiler:

Ighiz weathers the assault the group launches at her, remaining barely standing after its all over.

Roaring, her voice echoing off the walls all around the group. Ighiz lifts her morning star and swings at Falcon. In her weakened state, Ighiz can't swing anywhere near fast enough to touch him.

Morning Star: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (7) + 5 = 12
Damage: 1d8 ⇒ 8

The group lays into her again, melee attacks, arrows, and spiritual weapons flying. After its over Ighiz slumps to her knees, beaten beyond repair. You see the light in her eyes wink out as her body hits the ground.

With Olivia's ministrations, Teaheel and Kae stable, but not in good health.

There is also a large set of double doors to the east that are otherworldly in the largely stone chamber, being made of polished, blue steel. It is decorated with a ring of pictograms, and at the center is a depiction of an unusual head with bulging eyes and wisps of hair radiating in every direction. The head— which looks at once like an insect and an old woman— spins freely, and the wheel of pictograms depicts a beetle, a rock, a wedge, a hammer, a crying face, a flame, a claw, a door, a metal bar, a figure standing in triumph, and a bottle.

And out side the chamber, Claustipher notices that where there was once one crysmal, there are now two. The gemstones that make up the second one look suspiciously like the ones Claustipher threw at the first one. Both crysmals are intently watching him.

I would like to welcome you all to level 4.

Alezandu observes the doors curiously, unsure what their symbols could represent. "Can anyone make heads or tails of this?" he asks. "It looks like it could be some sort of puzzle." He gives them a brief but careful look, trying to detect any traps or hidden features.

Elyas moves to the doors and tries to make sense of the patterns. the iconography so far in this cave has seemed older than its current occupants, making Elyas think it likely doesn't have anything to do with the troglodytes. with that in mind he tries to determine a time period or origin for the door's design, hoping it will help with solving whatever puzzle it presents.
