Garfaulk grunts, watching Ton go over the edge, but Zeke seemed to have that fall covered. Aiming his shot, he realized the creature may get a swipe at him-but then, with any luck, Jolga could get away "Move yer arse, Jolga!" he shouts between verses, taking sharp aim at the beast, wanting to take it down quick before they were all knocked from above

The creature is fast, and heavy armored... a brutal combination.

Wulf misses twice; Garfaulk misses! Charles gets a solid blow in (but not a crit), as does the elemental and Zeke.

Charles, when going through the nest to strike the manticore, gets cut on a piece of barbed wire, doing 1d8 ⇒ 6 piercing damage (DC15 reflex for half) If you move at all, you will take the damage again. I am assuming that Wulf is floating in the air above the nest and not getting him.

It focuses on what it deems the biggest threat, Zeke, with his loud and painful magic gun, and lets loose with its bite and claws.

Move, provoking an AoO. Scorpion is with me increasing my AC by 2 to 22. Hoping to eat the AoO on the movement then cast a spell without an AoO. We'll see how smart the manticore is. I think I had to move through some barbed wire.

Then Jolga casts a spell.

Charles does good damage, and then Garfaulk lines up the shot, and "BAM!" The noise echoes around Scrapwalls rusty metal, but the mighty manticore collapses and... dies!

Putting down the mighty beast, Garfaulk cracks Crescendo open, the b remains of the alchemical cartridge shooting out towards the creature's remains, reloads without looking, and in one swift motion, slings the musket back over his shoulder, the little bauble in the stock spinning until it rested on the dwarven rune for 20r. Grit regained. "heh. Wasn't so tough-aww hell" remembering Zeke was down, Garfailk knelt next to him, drawing on his own power to put some life back into Zeke

With the sounds of battle waning, Ton lights up and waits at the base of the tower in a hazy blue cloud of smoke. He wasn't going to climb up there just to climb down again.

Jolga looks over the edge to see if Ton is alright. Seeing the elf standing next to Gumshy, he waves and shouts "We have done it!" Then he steps over to Zeke, drawing out a wand.

Then he begins eyeing the body of the manticore. "Hmmm.... this could be extremely useful..."

Wulfs anger still rages in him as he swings down at the creature slamming his hammer into it's chest.

He then spits at the creature and then unsteadily fly's over the edge of the tower looking for Ton, spotting the Elf he shouts down. "It's dead! But Zeke is hurt but don't worry." He then turns as land next to Zeke with a big thump. "Zeke are you ok?" He stays standing over her and Jolga. "He's not dead is he Jolga?"

Zeke coughs and splutters, his white shirt bloody and torn by claw marks. He tries to sit up quickly, a little dizzy and embarrassed to be splayed out on the ground so close to the edge of the tower. He focuses on Wulf with some difficulty and nods in answer to the big man's question. "Thanks, M... Mister Wulf. I think... I think I'll be all right. Has... has the spell expired?" he asks cryptically. "The... feather... fall? If not, we need it to, to jump down..."

Garfaulk gives a sign of relief when Jolga rouses Zeke, then chuckles, pulling him to his feet. "No idea-but there's an easy way ter test it!" and gives him a gentle shove in the direction of the edge of the tower, but Garfaulk had no intention of hopping down just yet, instead scrounging about in the nest, looking for anything interesting

Charles searches the nest; he is nimble enough to avoid most cuts and scrapes from the metal, but he still takes some damage. He flips back from Sam to Charles in rapid succession, ending on Charles.

Is it worth his insanity? In the nest, Charles finds a small iron coffer that he picks up and grabs before jumping off the edge. Garfaulk jumps down too, as Charles has found all that is worth the time.

The coffer is stuck closed; it is sealed by rust.

When Garfaulk nudges Zeke, he just floats at the edge of the tower ledge. He looks startled but laughs. "I forgot, I'm still levitating. I'll wait here with you to make sure there is no further danger before I go down." He looks below him and makes a leery face, as if he is uncomfortable without any ground beneath his feet.

"I'm not sure about this Jolga... Just dont go to crazy. I'll push it off the tower but I dont want anything else to do with it." He then lands on the tower looking over the edge first making sure not to hit anyone with the corpse.

As he lands on the ground he grabs the box offered to him and with his frustration building at with unable to hit the creature and letting his friends get hurt he attempts to break it open with his hands.

Garfaulk looks up as Wulf lobs the corpse of the manticore over the side of the tower edge "What in blazes-aw come on!" and with that, the dwarf dashes off to the side, getting 60ft away before the body hit the ground, not wanting to be there when the impact likely splatters people with gore


The landing impact splatters everyone with gore, except for Garfaulk.

Wulf rips the lid right off the coffer, revealing a treasure worth your troubles...

Looks like I misread some commas in the book, the coffer only contains gold and not all of this stuff, so let's say Charles and Garfaulk collected the coffer and these assorted items while searching the nest.

The coffer contains 250 gold.
There is a MW cold iron dagger.
A magical battleaxe. (spellcraft check)

Zeke floats down after the body lands, a little sickened by the sight. For a little extra insurance, he casts a healing spell on himself and another one on Charles.

The pistol, of course is very interesting.... You have to refer to Khonnir Baine's advanced technology tome, but you figure out what the pistol does....

EMP Blaster
Base Item: one handed firearm
Proficient: Exotic (firearm)
Damage: d8 (20/x2), electricity
Battery Capacity: 10
Battery Usage: 1 per shot
Ranged increment: 50 feet
Note: Special abilities affecting Arc Pistols also affect the EMP blaster (i.e. gunslinger's weapon training)

Only does damage to robots, androids, or those with cybernetic implants, or anything else with circuitry.

When a EMP blaster damages a target it interferes in circuitry and temporarily reduces its defense (reduces the target's hardness equal to the damage dealt.) Any damage dealt higher than the hardness directly reduces HP.

The reduction remains in effect until the end of next players turn.

(This takes coordination to properly use, of course).

Ooops... Got confused while posting: "A mammoth tusk scrimshaw from the Realm of the Mammoth Lords with several spells carved on its surface. Looks like you did figure out the timeworn laser rifle because it is in the technopedia, but no one added it to the loot sheet so I did just now. Make sure you current finds are on there too.

Laser Rifle
Type: two-handed firearm
Proficient: Exotic (firearm)
Damage: 2d6 (20/x2), fire damage
Battery Capacity: Holds 20 charges (2 batteries worth)
Battery Usage: 1 per shot
Ranged increment: 150 feet
Special: Can be set on automatic mode or cone mode (or just single shot mode). Each special mode costs 10 charges to fire, either a straight line or a 30 foot cone. Roll to hit each target. Iterative attacks are acceptable. Cover rules apply.
When set on either of these modes, each attack roll takes a –2 penalty to account for recoil, and its attack damage cannot be modified by precision damage or damage-increasing feats such as Vital Strike or Deadly Aim. Effects that grant concealment, such as fog or smoke, or the blur, invisibility, or mirror image spells, do not foil the line and cone attack. If any of the attack rolls threaten a critical hit, confirm the critical for that attack roll alone.
Otherwise, same description as a laser pistol.

Ton really struggles against hardness, this pistol is a godsend. If no one objects of course.

"50 gold says I kill the son of a b*tch." the elf says, one eyebrow cocked wickedly.

It may be in poor taste, but he was a gambler through and through.

It doesnt occur to him in the moment that it is this level of insensitivity that cost him his family
