Oh, shiny rock!
The strobe effect of the emergency lights proves distracting as you notice the human shaped torsos attached to the either side of what you believe to be the doors leading to the ship's bridge. Closer inspection reveal that the human torsos are part of security servitors that appear to have heavy bolters for arms. The sensor array affixed to their eyes activate and they swing to track you with their arm weapons.
"Halt, present security clearance."
"Does the Icon work on servitors? Cuz if so, use it! Throne, those things are big."
As the moments pass, you hear the ammo feed cycle to firing mode.
Roderick lifts the rosette. "By remit of the Holy Imperial Ordos of the Inquisition stand down your weapons." He stands firmly but beneath the cool exterior he tenses, preparing to dive for cover.
Please, let this work.

Liam quickly looks for the nearest piece of cover, getting ready to dash the moment things go wrong.

Laser flashes over all of you, the heavy bolter barrels following the light, then the light settles on the rosette. A moment later a mechanical voice speaks:
++Welcome Inquisitor.++
The doors to the bridge then opens. There is not much light inside that chamber.

Not feeling so tough that he can't show relief, Liam exhales and wipes the sweat of his brow.
"Good work, that saved us some botha' th' be sure."
"Aye. That is the point of that doohickey, glad it worked. Real glad, to be honest."
Zek shoulders his weapon and moves into the room, sweeping for threats.
Human Tech Priest
"Could have gone either way. This way is best. Yes. Let us continue with our current mission" he begins to examine the room for an indication on what may have happened

"Yeah, it gets so much worse." Roderick shivered a little.
He lowered the rosette and stowed it. Moving to the entrance to the bridge he blinked twice to activate his photo-lenses and looked over the room.

Roderick's pistol raises sharply, the red dot sight coming on and pointing toward the captain's throne. "Movement! Mcgregor, Magos sweep forward and check it out. Zek, we'll cover from here."
Human Tech Priest
"Acknowledged" he confirms and begins to move forward, his weapon ready to strike

"Awright then, ah'll go."
Liam follows the magos, if perhaps one or two steps behind.
"Got your six. Move in."
Zek slides into cover next to a nearby ship console, eyeing down the sights of his shotgun.
You move into the bridge as per your agreed pattern. The dry scent of death hangs heavy in the air, as many of the bridge crew's corpses litter the floor, some slumped at their stations. You notice some terminals are still active.
You inevitably step on some broken glass and other debris.
You are 20 meters away from the captain's throne and you notice the body slumped in it. A strange green glow can now be seen radiating from the head.

"Careful guys, something doesn't feel right. That's not a captain's uniform, looks like a navigator."
The light shining from the throne grows brighter.
"Psyker? Do I shoot? I don't like the look of that glowy thing!"
Zek's voice pitches up just a bit, as veins pop out on his forehead and along the back of his hands.
"Get clear, and aim for its head!"
As the light shines brighter, you get a first glimpse of the true extent of the casualties suffered by the bridge crew. Dozens of corpses lay at their terminal and the floor, hands curled into claws suggesting the desperation that they suffered.

"See, that is tha very def'nition o' "bad news"..."
The bridge just got colder.
Human Tech Priest
"Affirmative. We should not be here... the Spirit of this place is not right...."
He slowly begins to back away, his weapon crackling with energy

Roderick begins to sweat despite the cold, beads running down his forehead. His aim remains unwavering, the red dot trained at the green glow. "This seems uncomfortably familiar. Back away slowly, we don't know what will trigger... whatever it is we don't want triggered."
A loud, metallic groan can be heard from behind, as the bridge doors start to close.
