So far everything looks good.
Khaddar: Done and done
Duncan: Done and done
Elia: Fluff and crunch both almost done. You can have that bridle of tricks.
Jibril: Fluff done, crunch coming (stats, feats, skills etc).
Quinn: Done and done, just needs to move fluff into profile when you have a chance.
When you have a chance, please post on the gameplay tab, as Khaddar has, a brief intro to your character as you wait for the official game team announcements. A physical description, a few thoughts/emotions of what's going through your head, what they're doing while they wait, that sort of thing.
This is shaping up to be a really fun group, I'm looking forward to starting the game!

@Jibril
Str 12 (2)
Dex 18 (10)(w/racial bonus)
Con 13 (3)
Int 12 (2)
Wis 15 (7)
Cha 8 (-2)
22 point buy
Your BAB is always listed as +3 at level 3. BASE attack bonus is added to other things to get the final number. You don't want to change that number because at BAB +6 you get an additional attack.
You have 25 ranks of skills. 1 of these is from Favored Enemy. Rangers get 6 skill ranks per level, +1 for your current +1 int bonus makes that 7. 7x3=21, you have too many skill ranks!
Wild Empathy: Your wild empathy roll is +2, -2 for Magical Beasts. (Level + Charisma Mod, -4 for Magical Beasts)
That's all I see that doesn't gel! Are you planning on leaving your kits somewhere else, or purchasing an item to help you carry more?
You may also wish to purchase some unbreakable arrows at 1gp each.

Jibril Johan Sameh |

Thanks Purplefixer
I'm reducing Jibril's wisdom to 14 and will recalculate skills and will save
I'm also using Ranger as a favoured class
"Multitalented: Half-elves choose two favored classes at first level and gain +1 hit point or +1 skill point whenever they take a level in either one of those classes."
- did I do this incorrectly ... it still means I have to reduce one skill so I'll decrease ride
Wild Empathy - yes, I was adding my 'Elven Serenity' talent but you're right - it's not what the rule says, it clearly only states diplomacy and handle animal
Equipment - no, I was only looking at what my character might drop in a hurry if there were opportunity
Arrows - Didn't see them on the equipment list ... I'll take a look

Jibril Johan Sameh |

Purplefixer - Thanks again for your technical help. It's been a while since I've generated a character (and apparently, since I've done simple math).
If I post something as a spoiler please don't openly post it. Either respond as a private message or post it back as a spoiler. I like that people are keeping some of their crunch and fluff secret and I would like to keep that sentiment going.
Thanks

Purplefixer |

OH! Sorry about that! I thought you were just saving scrolling space on the thread! XD
+1 hit point OR +1 skill point to animal companions, OR +1/2 to crit confirmation rolls to a single elven-familiar weapon.
OR +1 hit point OR +1 skill point to yourself.
Most single-classed Half-Elves give up Multi-talented for either Blended View, which will give you dark vision, or they give up their favored class bonuses entirely and take Arcane Training, which gives you a phantom Level 1 in an arcane class so you never have to roll UMD when you use magic items from that class, such as wizard fireball wands, or witch cure-light-wounds scrolls.
If you take all three favored class bonuses in skills you'll have 24 skill points. For some reason I thought you had a racial bonus to hunting favored enemies! @.o I make mistakes too.
And I meant durable arrows: http://www.d20pfsrd.com/equipment/weapons/weapon-descriptions/ammunition/am munition-bow-arrow-durable

Oh crap - that's three more ranks of skills - i'll do some weeding

I don't think people are keeping their stuff secret. I'm certainly not. Feel free to peruse my fluff and/or crunch.
The only thing that you will be asked is that you separate player knowledge from character knowledge, meaning your PC shouldn't know everything that you as a player know.
Game on!

Angie H |

Yes - generally I use spoilers only to prevent massive walls of text. If there's a spoiler you actually don't want us to look at, label it "don't peek" or something like that.
I'm pretty much ready, so as soon as Duncan and Elia introduce themselves in-game, I'll move things along. Don't worry if your character isn't carved in stone yet, there's some wiggle room as we settle in.
BTW, Duncan I did role perception for you, but as it was a miserable fail, I decided to let Quinn just role with it (she's with me in RL visiting this week). For those new to us, don't worry, we won't be seeing a lot of PC vs PC sniping; this was just too good an opportunity to pass up. :)

Purplefixer |

Not a bug, but a question: @Duncan, why did you pick -deadly aim- as your first combat feat? You're better off with practically anything else out of the ranged combat line. And better than that, things OUT of the ranged combat line.
Precise shot (after Point Blank Shot) is an effective +4 to hit in almost all combat situations. Point blank shot is +1 to hit and damage within 30', where most of your rays and crossbow attacks will happen anyway. Deadly Aim meanwhile is costing you a precious +1 to hit from your already not-stellar attack setup.
Spell Focus: Conjuration improves the power of your summoned pits, clouds, and the all hillarious Ice Crystal Teleport. It also sets you up to take feats like Evolved Summons and Proxy Summons.
Toughness is also widely regarded as a -terrible- feat but you know? I say if what you really want is more HP... take more HP. Three HP can be the difference between life and death at low levels.

I need to find something for Duncan to do outside of summoning and staying away from the fight is very fitting for this PC so I decided to try and make him a ranged combatant or as much s possible being summoner. Deadly aim will give me more damage otherwise it's hard to increase the damage from a crossbow. I didn't like the idea of him using a bow.
I think toughness is better than spell focus but I do appreciate the advice. Let's talk again once we go up levels.

Oh no worries from me. You know I love these things.
BTW, Duncan has +0 perception, something I did on purpose as befits his character so no chance of perceiving Shari's sleight of hands.
BTW, I'm going to transfer a skill rank to linguistics so I can pick up celestial and be able to talk to my summoned creatures if you're Ok with this.

Jibril Johan Sameh |

I love that you did that

Angie H |

@Elia - No worries, we're just getting warmed up! And alas, I don't think even the clerics can keep that god happy. Just gotta role with it...
@Duncan and everybody- feel free to move skill points around, and tweak your character until you're actually inside the GameFields.
Just to keep things standard among the group, can we do "conversation in bold", and do internal thoughts (or other things that need highlighting] in italics.
I love that the dwarf and half-elf are already friendly, and the trouble is going to come from the two humans. Way to flip stereotypes!

Duncan Clayton, III |

OK, this has got to stop because you're doing it in all your games! :)
- Roll: move or cause to move in a particular direction by turning over and over on an axis
- Role: the function assumed or part played by a person or thing in a particular situation
Unless you people up in Canada do things differently... :)

Duncan Clayton, III |

Dud, I just awoke up! Cut me some slacks. I no the difference among roll and role. One is a bun, one is an acting job. Jeesh. Also, me GM. You no get to mock my gramma. She a nice lady.
Thank you for my morning chuckle. Well said. :)

got it! i think i got it

Angie H |

Oh my, I am enjoying this too much, and we haven't even really started yet! I wonder what a rabbit angel will do when faced with an earthly wolf.
If anybody wants to try a sense motive check to oppose Quinn's bluff, go ahead. Or just roll with it. Role with it? Roll, definitely roll.
I'll be moving things along in a few minutes of game time, probably tonight, real-time.

Elia Aoine |

UMD doesn't care - that's kind of the point, haha. Wands and scrolls are the canonical uses, and arcane v. divine doesn't matter for someone who doesn't have spellcasting at all. You can even use things like an oracle's ring of revelation, so long as you can make the check to emulate the appropriate class features. (But the best option is mostly wands. They have a flat DC that isn't too hard to reach with a few levels under your belt, and the worst-case scenario is that you can't use that wand for the rest of the day if you both roll a 1 and miss the check.)

Purplefixer |

Wands are DC 20, and you get a +2 to the wand if you know the command word or you have activated it before. Rolling a natural one locks it for the day, yes. *thumbs up Elia!*
Scrolls you have to have the base stat for, IE: wisdom 12 to cast a second level cleric scroll. If you don't, there is a second ADDITIONAL roll to make.
If something is race, class, or alignment locked, you can also fool magic items to let you do that for a limited time, too, such as elven boots that ONLY function for elves, or a holy sword that will normally give you fits.
Out of Combat healing is so universal as to be a staple of the game, and you CAN indeed have entire games without a divine caster at all. I've been through several. We didn't have a divine caster for Crimson Throne and finished it four levels early. The divine caster in Against the Giants was a Hunter, and we finished that four levels early, too.
Pass a wand off to Elia if she can use it, and she never has to roll. Then if she goes down, you be sure you know where she keeps it. Same thing with Clayton, if we ever figure out he can do anything other than bunnysummoning. XD

Angie H |

This is just way too much fun. Now I know why you enjoy Eberron so much, Fabian!
Don't worry, action will be coming. Just a bit more set-up before you get to the doors.
I'm quite happy for you guys to roleplay as much or as little of the next few hours as you'd like. Anything you want to buy and have funds for is available at normal prices. If you use your new fame as a contestant, and succeed a diplomacy roll DC 12, you can get items at 20% off. I'll leave that all to you, so you don't have to wait for me to RP merchants etc.
Same with parties - feel free to be invited by fans to whatever sort of gathering you want to invent. You will be wined and dined for free. Likewise for the night - you can accept an invitation to stay the night somewhere, go to Duncan's or Quinn's house, or stay at an inn (20% off!). I'll have a few things to interject here and there, and will take over again at bedtime.
Somehow, Fabian, your fool is very endearing. :)

Purplefixer |

Khaddar is as happy sleeping on the ground as under it, so long as he can find a spot out of the rain. The green-tents (green rooms! XD) would be more than sufficient... but we should stay together tonight, so he's going to stick to Quinn like glue, and let Eli and Jibril hang on. All eyes are on Duncan.
Also Khaddar isn't drinking tonight at all, so it's only wine and beer for him. (Cause he's a dwarf, get it?)

Duncan Clayton, III |

I've made a map, it's in the header. Make sure you can see and edit it. I put you in place based on where I assumed you'd gone - feel free to edit before action begins.
Quinn is able to see the guy on the rooftop, once it's pointed out. I'll be rolling for initiative soon.
I (we?) don't have permission to see the map. :(

Duncan Clayton, III |

>.>
<.<
Khaddar has Throw Anything. Thinking with what we had at hand, he was going to hurl an angel-bunny at the archer. XD
Oohs, missed opportunity there.
Let's see if we can do it some other time. :)

Angie H |

@Jibril and Khaddar - can you make your rolls for your readied actions? That'll save me some time when I roll for the baddies.
I'll work on making squares for the next map. Does anybody have a great website for making these things? I'm experimenting with a few but haven't found the perfect one yet.
I cannot wait for Khaddar to start hurling boonies around!

Angie H |

Who has two thumbs and made you a Game,
So your PCs could find fame, this dame!
Oh, also, I made you some squares,
(you're welcome)
So fill 'em up with angel hares.
(If you're not intimately aware of the Moana soundtrack...sorry! If you are...you're welcome!. Oh well, at least the kids aren't always singing Frozen anymore.)
Quinn can't loop around behind them without taking several minutes. But it's dark, so you could try to stealth along the edges to get behind them.

Jibril Johan Sameh |

I've been reading character generation rules and I think I've missed some parts of generating my character.
All characters receive a feat at 1st level (humans and fighters each get an additional feat)? This wouldn't include my ranger's 2nd level combat style, 3rd level endurance feat, nor skill focus and keen senses for being a half-elf. So my character is short a feat?

Irrespective of what class/race you are, all characters get one feat every odd level so you should have two feats because you are third level.
Any feats due to race and/or class are in addition to those above.

Jibril Johan Sameh |

Sorry, my last post wasn't very clear. I didn't close the italics and the question was meant for Quinn.
I do hope we have a chance to learn about any sponsor involvement and side opportunities before we're past the mind door.

Jibril Johan Sameh |

What should we do tomorrow:
Head straight for the door?
Break into two groups. One doing discreet inquiries into some of the lowlifes, and the other acting as the public face - looking into sponsors who might have side missions behind the mind door?
Top up on equipment?
