"A one-way trip, eh?" Vilhelm mused as he considered the slippery slope. "At least, I doubt I could crawl my way back up that...". Perhaps it wouldn't be too slick for feet invested with his patron's enchantment of spider-climbing, but time enough to worry that afterwards - who knew where the slide would deposit them. But that they would need to take it seemed obvious enough.
While waiting for his turn to ride the slide Vilhelm willed his glaive out of existence - he did not relish the thought of hugging the murderously-sharp weapon as he barreled down what might turn to be a twisting passage at high speeds. At best, he might clobber himself silly with the wooden half. At worst, he'd meet the blade head-on. Far better to risk a landing without a weapon at hand than the alternative.
Vilhelm takes the cookie bonus to Cha, not that it matters since he has even number in all ability scores. And I assume we haven't had time to rest and regain spells since we only took a slight breather?
Alvar "Rex" Zosimus |
"Alright. Thanks" Rex said, as he exchanged torches with Quinn. "Still alive? Jibril?" He shouted down the slide.
Assuming Jibril confirms he's okay...or at least doesn't start screaming
"Okay, I'm coming down!" Rex shouted, as he moved to the slide.

Jibril flew down the slide, into the dark. The smooth tunnel offered no resistance, and turned left and right at a pace seemingly engineered to disorient. After what seemed long, but was probably no more than ten or fifteen seconds, he saw light ahead, and the slide straightened out. A moment later and he slid to a smooth stop in a long, narrow tunnel. It was lit by the spy-eyes, which were giving off a bright ambient light.
At the end of the tunnel was a door-shaped opening. It shimmered with multicoloured light, and the half-elf could not see past the opening to what lay beyond.
The others all slide with no incident.
EDIT: Sorry, it's a full +1 bonus to ability of your choice, not just if you were at an "odd" number. We'll say that since you levelled up, all spent spells available. One of the healers at the market hit the spellcasters with a lovely "refresher" spell. Don't thank me yet. You'll need them.
Alvar "Rex" Zosimus |
"Ever feel like you're being watched?" Rex muttered, as he handed the ioun stone back to Quinn. "Alright, let's get this over with..." He said, as he raised his shield and stepped past Jibril, giving the elf one last clap on the back. "Everyone stay behind me. Let's go see what's beyond that door..."
If no one objects, Rex will go other to the door, inspect and then open.

"That curtain of light is just a glamer - an illusion," Vilhelm said, with some confidence. Illusions, after all, fell well within the domain of his Fey patron, and no matter how reluctant their relationship, he would be a fool not to make use of the knowledge gained from the pact. "There to block sight and sound from within. Harmless to step through, but what it hides..." the invoker shook his head.
He held out his hand and concentrated, summoning his silvery glaive back into his hand. Ready for trouble, he nodded to Rex and took his place in the line to pass through the doorway.

Jibril took out the biscuit he was given and munches on it quietly. It was course at first but then melted in the mouth. The taste of wheat also dissolved and became a sharp lemon and cinnamon, and it stoked a fire in the furnace of his core. His eyes widened.
He removed his quiver six arrows, including the last Ashtoe his face got faintly serious. From his backpack, Jibril pulled the patch he removed from his cloak, held it in his right hand, one of his arrows in his left's firm clench and muttered in elven ... "min'ayi waqt madaa-khar , min'ayi waqt madaa-khar , min'ayi waqt madaa , 'smasam 'ana alhajat qad aintahat"<ever another, ever another, ever another, 'til the need is no more>

If it's a +1 to the ability adjustment then Jibril will switch to Dexderity - is it cool to change?
Quinn Starling |
Quinn will add her +1 bonus to dexterity
Quinn was surprised that she actually enjoyed the ride down the slide, not that her face displayed it. She took her torch back and stowed it. It wasn't like they needed additional light here.
"I guess we should see what's behind the curtain." She released her dagger into her hand and then went to study the door frame. Even though Vilhelm said it was harmless, it was better to be safe than dead.

More info from our dear GM....
"Wait! There's someone... or something over there," Vilhelm whispered urgently. "Either side of the doorway, motionless. Could be statues, could be sentries. And I think those two aren't the only ones beyond."
Jibril Johan Sameh |
Jibril put his back to the wall near the end of this slide. He grabbed the seal he tucked under his belt and muttered again, "al'ashum mithl alrasas, al'ashum mithl alrasas, al'ashum mithl alrasas."

"Shall I go first?", Jibril looked from friend to friend.
If everyone is in agreement Jibril will back up and run out of the doorway using acrobatics-pass through threatened space. Once he's out and attracting attention the others can come out and sweep the sides - he will act defensively. AC 17 +1 from the biscuit +2 acting defensively +1 acting defensively and having 3+ ranks of acrobatics = 21AC. Acrobatics is +12
Quinn Starling |
Quinn stopped dead in her tracks as Vilhelm hissed out his warning. She heeds his words and watched intently as Jibril and Rex approached. "Let's hope they stay motionless. Although I highly doubt they will."
Vilhelm Leitdorf |
Vilhelm can be 3rd... he never wants to go first since he gets the best benefit from his reach weapon by having someone standing between him and an enemy so he could attack safely. Since we don't know more about what is behind there, I dunno what else we can plan for. Vilhelm's spells are too valuable to him to waste in case it turns out those things are statues or friendlies after all.
Alvar "Rex" Zosimus |
I think Jibril's plan was to act as bait. However, if he doesn't get jumped straight away, Rex will follow him in. Maybe have Dizzy bring up the rear?
Jibril Johan Sameh |
My thought was to get through the 'surprise round' and get the whatever it/they is/are to reveal themselves ... and then you all rush in and save my half-elvish hide. If Rex wants to come and we go back to back, cool.
Jibril intends to go towaards the middle of the room. If there is a group of people waiting, he will stop 5' shy of them up to his regular movement.
"I'll see you all on the other side.", Jibril went to the opening, took a long quiet inhale, then dove out into whatever was waiting doing a tight roll along the floor and springing up onto one knee with his bow out.
